CHAPTER-6

Arnav was ready to pounce on NK for saying this non-sense. Khushi was looking at them with a horrified look. She knows about the intensity of his anger. But she doesn't want her newly found friend to face the same. NK was the confused soul here. He doesn't know what mistake he has done that one person is looking at him like he will kill him (NK) any moment and another person is looking at him with sympathy. Khushi was still rooted on her spot. Arnav notices that she was looking at her so-called friend with pity. That's not something he can tolerate.

Arnav: What are you waiting for? I said go and get inside the car.

Khushi was still looking at him and her friend back to back. She was unable to move from the spot due to the shock she received from her friend.

Arnav: Tumhe patha hai mujhe apni baathein dohrane ki aadat nahi hai. Mujhe aur gussa mat dilavo. Get inside the car dammit.

(You know that I don't like repeating my words. Don't make me angrier and get inside the car dammit).

Khushi nods her head and slowly walks towards the car. Arnav was constantly looking at her until she gets inside the car. NK was also looking at her with pity to have a family member like Arnav who doesn't even care that she was sick. After making sure she was seated inside the car, Arnav looks at his next prey. It irked him when he saw NK looking at Khushi with sympathetic look. NK also noticed that Arnav was looking at him and trying to read his expressions.

NK: Aap uske saath aise barthav kaise kar sakthe hain?

(How can you behave so rude with her?)

Arnav: Mein uske saath jaise bhi pesh aao usse tumhein kya?

(However, I behave with her what problem you have with it?)

NK: She is my friend. It is my responsibility to look after her.

Arnav: First of all, she is not your friend. I don't give her any permission to make boys as her friend. Second one, she is not your responsibility. She is my responsibility.

NK: Aap kaisa insaan ho? Jo apne behen ko ladkon se saath friendship karna bhi allow nahi kartha?

(What type of human being are you who doesn't even allow his sister to make friendship with boys?)

Arnav's anger was skyrocketed. How much ever he tries to ignore the topic the opposite person is hell bent on testing his patience.

Arnav: I AM NOT HER BROTHER DAMMIT. He roared.

NK flinched by hearing Arnav's roar. Khushi also got scared hearing Arnav's outburst. But NK is not a person who get afraid of pointing out wrong things happening in front of him.

NK: Agar aap uska bhai nahi hai tho kaun hai? Normally, ek sick school going kid ko apne family hi pick karne aathe hain. Aap ko dekhkar mujhe laga ki aap uske bhai ho. Isme kyaa galath hain? Ek small misunderstanding ke liye ithna gussa karne ki kyaa zaroorat hain?

(If you are not her brother then who are you? Normally, if a school going kid is sick then her family comes to pick her up. When I saw, you came to pick her I thought you are her brother. What is wrong in it? Why are you getting angry for such a small misunderstanding?)

Arnav: Jo bhi pick karne aavo vo uski bhai ho na zaroori hai kya? He barked.

(If a person comes to pick her is it necessary that he should be her brother?)

NK: Zaoori nahi hain. Agar aap uski bhai nahi hain to kaun hai?

(Ok. It is not necessary. If you are not her brother , then what relation you have with her?)

Arnav was tongue tied. He had no right on her other than the responsibility of her. There is no proper relation between them which he can use to make the opposite person's mouth shut.

NK: Ab aap chup kyun hain?

(Why are you silent now?)

Arnav: Jo bhi rishtha mere or uski beech hai mujhe vo kisi paraye insaan ko bathane ki zaroorat nahi hai?

(Whatever relation I have with her, I don't find it necessary to share it with an outsider).

NK doesn't know why Arnav is behaving so rude with him. He was also behaving worst with Khushi. How can a person become so angry by a mere misunderstanding?

Arnav: Get lost (Arnav move close to NK by pointing his index finger on NK's face and with a warning look) and STAY AWAY FROM HER. He roared in a loud voice.

NK was looking at him with an unbelievable look.

Arnav didn't wait for NK's reply and got in to the car and drove off from school premises. He didn't even look at Khushi once.

Khushi was looking at him sideways. She was playing with her fingers due to fear. She was confused why he is not asking anything regarding today's events. He is calm. Whenever he is angry, he drives car rashly. But today he is driving slowly, even slower than his usual speed. Something is definitely wrong. She was scared of his calm behaviour. If he is calm then the consequences will be not good for her. So, she tries to start a small talk with him.

Khushi: Vo hamein maaf kar dijiye. Hum aajka exam nahi de payi.

(Please forgive me. I was not able to write the exam).

He was still not talking to her not even looking at her. She doesn't want to face his wrath, so again she tries to talk with him.

Khushi: Voh jab ham corridor par chal rahein the tho hum behosh hogayi.

(I had fainted at the corridor while walking towards classroom).

Again, he was not giving any response. Again, her attempt turns out to be futile.

Khushi: Jab humein hosh aaya tho humein patha chala ki exam time beeth gayi thi. I am so sorry. Hum aagein aisi harkath kabhi nahi karenge. Devimayya ki Kasam. Please iss baar humein maaf kar dijiye.

(When I came in to conscious, I got to know that the exams were already finished. I am extremely sorry. I will never repeat the same mistake. Devimayya's promise. Please forgive me for this time).

He was looking at the road with so much concentration. All her talks fell on his deaf ears. He was calm than normal. She was scared extremely. She was silently praying to her Devimayya to help her from the unknown storm.

GUPTA MANSION

They reached Gupta Mansion and Arnav silently walks out of the car. Khushi follows him silently. Gupta's were having lunch at dining room. He ignored everyone and starts climbing the stairs. He enters his room without talking to Khushi. Khushi silently walks in to her room with confusion written all over her face.Normally, if she does anything against him, he will scold her and punish her. But today he is extremely calm. She was scared to admit that, this is really "a calm before the storm".
