Okay so there are some odd type match ups in Pokemon and I feel like just writing down my ideas here.

Steel types:

Problem: So for some reason in Gen VI Steel lost it's resistance to Dark and Ghost types. I get that it gained a resistance to Fairy types and is super effective against Fairy types too, but Steel is meant to be the defensive type so losing more resistances than it gained doesn't help that. 

Solution: My fix for this is that Steel gets the resistance to Ghost and Dark back so that the type keeps it's title of the "Defensive Type". Now for anyone that thinks this would make Steel too OP when it comes to defenses, adding those two types back to the list makes Steel resistant to 12 types and immune to 1, but I have a fix to that. Metal is extremely conductive to electricity so Steel type would gain a new weakness to Electric type moves. That way it gains a logical weakness without having to loss a resistance since Steel never resisted Electric.

Ice types:

Problem: Defensively, Ice types suck. Hard. Ice is resistant to itself and that is it. It doesn't resist any other type while still being weak to four types and they are all pretty common (Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel).

Solution: Give the type two to three new resistances to help balance it out some. Give it a resistance to Grass since plants tend to wilt in the cold and Grass is already weak to Ice type moves, a resistance to Bug since bugs are pretty rare when it gets cold out and it helps to give Ice something, a resistance to Dragon types since you can say that the Ice types are so cold that they slow down the reptiles and since Dragon is already weak to Ice it wouldn't be out of no where, and finally a resistance to Water types since you can say that the Ice types are so cold that the water freezes when it makes contact with the Ice type's body and giving it a resistances to one of the most common types in the game would help give it a significant boost. I'm not saying to give it all of those resistances, just two or three so that way Ice is no longer the worst type.

Alright so those are my two biggest complaints with the typing in the series and I feel if they were to do those changes it would help to balance out the types more and would help mix up the meta game of the Pokemon series.
