Yakari's POV;

The good thing about knowing about a war beforehand is that you have time to say your goodbyes.

The breathing of other soldiers could be heard as it went up and down in unison. I scouted the faces of my fellow comrades and I didn't see a slight sign of fear, but it read that of one who was willing to kill and die for the cause he thought was just. The cause of his nation.

I strengthen the grasp on my shield and adjusted the neck warmer I wore along with the official white armoured regiment war gear which consisted of an overall white sleeveless cloth that ran from our necks to our knees, a well knitted silver inner wear the was made from metal and long boots. Our helmets had openings that looked like a sharp y.
My draco sword stood out in the crowd as I lifted it into the air. I took a quick look around before closing my eyes and took a deep breath in.

The empty space that was before us minutes ago was soon filled with orthorox soldiers all in their war gears. They were chanting their war songs as they neared us.
I turned around to see one of us taking out what would look like a chaplet and prayed repeatedly with tears falling from his eyes, turning again I saw a woman giving a younger boy beside her a kiss in the head as if telling him goodbye. It soon became clear to me, this war would bring so much casualty to the nation.

"Soldiers." We all turned out attention to the man on a horse in front of us. It was general riechford and beside rode commander zues and the commander of the black beetles regiment, lord mathieus. He was quite huge about 7ft tall and his muscles were quite massive, he almost looked inhuman. And taking a look at all black beetles soldiers i could concur why he was like that as they all looked similarly muscular and huge.
"This battle Is to decide who is supreme between the two kingdoms but it isn't the reason we are fighting." He paused once more to see our reactions before he began to speak, "We are fighting to protect our love ones back home, we are fighting to see that they do not go through the same fate as we did, we are fighting because we want to. Now soldiers, men of the human faction raise you weapons and show these abominations what we are capable of." The roaring from the men of about 120 thousand in number could be heard from the heavens, their spirits were lifted,their hope restored and all of a sudden it seemed like we could conquer anything even the heavens.

There was silence in the battlefield for about a minute then the commander of the orthorox raised his hands, all the soldiers behind him readied their weapons waiting for the hand to go down. My heart was racing at this point, my hands were sweaty making my sword slip from my hands. I looked up and I saw a large number of vultures hovering over our heads waiting for the carnage to be over until they come for the mega feast. As I watched on I saw as one of the birds collided to another causing feathers to fall from their bodies and as the feathers touched the ground the commander dropped his hands.

The orthorox army began to advance with their weapons raised to the air shouting on the top of their voices.

"Soldiers, this is it, brace yourselves." As he spoke the sun reflected from the dark skin of the black beetles commander,"Fight with honour, for with honour comes glory and with glory comes unending praise even our deaths. So raise your swords and fight with your heart." With that he charged towards the enemy along with him thousands of our soldiers.
I felt something coming with force from behind. Shit. Tilting my neck degrees away from its previous position I was able to evade an arrow that was fired at me. The orthorox advanced swinging his axe from left to right but I ducked them all, I then held his hands as he tried to swing once more and banged my head into his removing it from his body.
Wow. I didn't believe I was that strong.
Three more advanced towards me but i didn't give them the chance to go on the offensive. Swinging my sword to one of the soldiers he blocked it with his shield and swung back but I caught his blades with my hands and broke it into two leaving him and the other two stunned.

"What are ...?"

Slash.

Their heads went rolling or their guts were cut open for the lucky ones.

I continued with my carnage as I rendered all Orthorox soldiers in my path lifeless. Rendering one of the casualties in my onslaught headless I caught one of the orthorox soldiers pacing at me with twin swords and threw a kriesmegger at me which I caught with no ease.

"Fool, this can't..."

Boooom!!!.

The kriesmegger exploded into my face but I barely got any injuries. With my sight fucked up for the moment I had to stay low on the ground while. I felt someone place his boots on my head and squashing it.

"You weren't fun though, how can such a trick kill you so easily. Pfft, pathetic." It came from above me as the feet left my head. It most likely sounded like a woman. And slowly I began to pass out as it seemed like what was in that explosive was reacting to the draco corde inside me.

Yakari. Yakari. Wake up. Wake up damn it, wake up. Oo bloody hell, somebody help.

That voice sounded familiar but I didn't like the way it disturbed my peace. Hmm. As my eyes began to open little by little i tried to make out who the person before me was. He kept hitting my chest and his hot tears dropped on my face. This yanked me to consciousness. It was Fred who was above me crying like a two year old kid who lost his candy.

"Yakari don't die on me, please don't .... Huh , you are alive. You are... Shit,you are fucking alive." He hugged me drowning me into his haven of fat.

"Yeh Yeh , I'm alive now let go of me before you actually kill me."

I took a long look at the current situation of the war. It was indeed a sight of horror. Bodies without heads lied on around in large numbers, some were wailing and yelling out in pain, some were missing a body part. I turned my head and my mouth opened slightly. Soldiers struggling to save their head while taking out another's, the sound of swords clashing on shields was the hymn of the battlefield as it seemed the warriors were dancing to its tune.

"The cartman destroyers has just arrive and we have an upper hand against them now. Get up let me give you a ride." He stretches his hands to lift me up, giving a low groin I get up on my feet and mounted his cartman. I sighted three orthorox warriors dashing towards the cartman. One of them threw his spear at me which I diverted away with my shield.
"Be careful,I'll see you later." I said as I jumped up from the cart-man and leaping high into air I drove my sword into the head of the orthorox who threw his spear dividing his head into two equal parts,and with little effort I threw his body at the other two leaving them unconscious.
"You bastard, I will kill you." I looked up and I saw a heavily muscled orthorox headed towards me with his axe raised to the air. He swung his weapon at me several times but I ducked them all, I aimed my sword for his head but he blocked it with his axe and threw a punch at me which nearly removed my jaw from its joint. As I bent trying to figure out where I was he sent a kick to my guts, it felt like my intestines had been crushed. He took me my the jaw and raised me up from the ground and high up to his face till my feet was dangling in the air. It was then I realized he was about 9 to 10 ft tall and didn't look orthorox at all with his eyes without pupils and long straight hair which was not the typical orthorox style and his blue skin almost looked green.
He kept squeezing my jaw hoping to crush it with his hands as I continued to struggle.

"Washowwuu!!!." After that voice i saw the hand of the orthorox being cut from his body freeing my jaw as I fell buttocks first to the ground. I looked at who just saved me at it looked like a easterner, a man from one of the Asian race. His body and straight face could be easy to tell from even miles away.
I stood on my feet as I watched how the orthorox soldier's hand grew back into place.

"What the fuck." My eyes widened in shock.
The Asian charged at him with his sword slicing both legs as he also evaded the attacks of the strange orthorox. Boy how fast was this guy. He soon brought the giant to the ground and slashed his neck but it wasn't enough as he slapped the Asian man across the battlefield and slamming his back to a tree.

I watched how the injuries on his heels and neck healed and I finally found a way to kill this abomination. The Asian dude got up on his feet and set to attack again before I stopped him.

"Hey, Asian kid come over here, any attack you send to that thing will be useless." He paused for a bit and walked over to me .

"My name isn't Asian kid but Chang won, so stop sounding racist. How do we kill that thing?." He said pointing to the giant who had finally got up to his feet and started advancing towards in slow steps as if mocking us.

"Listen carefully, I have noticed that he can't heal injuries on his head as quickly as the rest of the body. So cripple him and i will end it here and now, got it." He just nodded.
He dashed towards the giant slicing the place where his genitals were meant to be and sliced his heels as it cried out in pain. With it back bent over and concentration all gone I ran with all my might and stepped on a rock beside him and leapt high into the air and struck my sword into his neck removing it from its body.

"Hey Chang won let's head for the other battlefront and help out." He nodded again as we stepped over the dead giant's body.
Chaos was not enough to classify what I saw as we got there, I saw of the giants on this front ripping our soldiers into two and destroying our cart-mans with their feet.
Chang won dashed towards to help some of the soldiers out as he told the cartman riders to aim for the head. I scouted round to look for Fred and I spotted him finishing up a group of orthorox soldiers with his arrows from the cartman.
Approaching him I heard a voice that sounded familiar. I listened more to get a better coverage of what the person might be saying.
It hit me. It was the woman who had knocked me out. I turned to face this person and I was surprised at what I saw. The lady was so slender and looked almost human, but for her green skin that differentiated her from us.
I began to pace towards her holding my sword as hard as ever. I was really furious, so furious that I didn't notice of the giants aiming his spear at me from behind.

"Get the hell away from my friend, you cock sucker." Fred shouted as he shot a host of arrows at the giant only pissing him off. He turned to face Fred who seem to have just realised he was in a big mess.

"Shit." He cried out as he realised his peddle had been stuck,"Fuck, dog piss, what is going on?." He tried harder.
I began to race towards them but it seemed I wasn't going to make it on time. The giant had thrown the spear to a hapless , confused Fred.

"Fred, no!!!." I jumped just in time to get in between him and the spear. I watched slowly how the spear thrust through my armor and into my skin and coming out at my back. I landed right in front of a shocked Fred whose eyes were widened and mouth slightly open.

"Yakari? Yaky?, why is there a spear in your chest?, tell me you are not dying on me." Tears began to fill his eyes.
My vision was already gone,all that was left was my hearing which was already growing faint.
Is this how I die?. Is this how my story ends?. God , no?. I cant possibly die here?. Not now?.

Some one... Help.

A great red light shun from chest where the spear had pierced and into the sky turning the blue sky blood red. My skin was beign replaced with black hard scales, my fingers grew into claws and my hair turned black and grew longer until it swept to the back of my head. My eyes were black and pupils red. My hands were wrapped up with chains that were attached to red hot blades that was bleeding of lava, a black leather jacket covered my body which made me look badass as fuck .I stalked the giant as I stood up to my feet.

"Now,let's begin." My distorted voice echoed.
