I was in my room, I had asked all the Hastinapur helpers to give me privacy so they left me alone.

I chuckled as I thought back to about a month ago when Dau first introduced me to my helpers in Mathura. To be honest, I kind of freaked out.

Then I made sure that I got to know all their names and befriended them. In the start, they were not used to it but I didn't let go until they gave up and they also treated me as friends when we were alone. They convinced me to follow royal formalities during official capacity.

I mean it was one thing to get adjusted to life in Vrindhavan and another thing as a Princess. But then I realised that Kanha Bhaiya was going to start his Aishwarya leelas. I figured I could adjust. Or atleast fake it till you make it.

I was exhausted after the archery practise session with Arjun. It was amazing but tiring. The way one felt after a specific brutal gym session.

He basically showed me few exercises that helps improve your aims. Some he said had been developed by him and some shown by Jyesht Karn.

I smiled and thought jokingly,
Thank god Karan aur Arjun ekk ho gaye!

(Thank god Karan and Arjun are one now!)

I signed as I lied down on the bed in a comfortable position with my head hanging down the bed backwards and my arms and legs spread out. I looked like a human starfish in my lehenga as I hummed a random song.

"Ami je tomar chinn chinn chinn...Shudu je tomar ...chinn chinn chinn"

Then a helper Manasvi came inside looking down,

"Rajkumari, Rajmata Kunti padhari hai.."

(Rajkumari, Rajmata Kunti had come..)

I sat up straight in an instant and made myself look a bit decent.

I then told Manasvi to give her permission as I moved towards the centre of the room still not used to how big the room was. I mean we could easily play dodge ball here.

Kunti Bua entered hurriedly with a worried look. I went to her at an instant.

"Bua..kya hua..aap ithni chinthith kyun prathith ho rahi ho?"

(Bua...what happened..why do you look so worried?)

Kunti Bua placed both her hands on my shoulder and said,
"Putri...tum..tumhara..maasik dharm arambh ho gaya kya?"

(Putri..you..has your monthlies started?)

I frowned

Maasik dharm..? Hein? Maasik? Oh Monthlies..menses..

I shook my head and replied,
"Nahi Bua par agle mahine se shuru ho saktha hai..Kaliyug ke bachpan mein meine bekaran..ekk chotti si baath par meri saheli ke saath meine ekk saptah tak baath nahi kiya..fir uske ek mahine ke baadh meri maasik dharm chalu ho gaya tha..iss baar bhi meine ekk chotti si baath pe Kumar Arjun se rutth gayi aur unse 2 din tak baath nahi kiya..toh mujhe abaas hua ki shayad..."

(No Bua but it could start from next month..in Kaliyug..in my childhood.. without any reason..for a small thing, I didn't speak to my friend for an entire week..then I got my first periods a month later...this time also, for a small thing, I got upset with Kumar Arjun and didn't speak to him for two days..then I realised that maybe..)

Kunti chuckled and nodded understandingly,

"Haan ho saktha hai par yeh avishya nahi hai ki ekk mahine ke baadhi hoga..usse jald bhi ho saktha hai...tumne Arjun ko bola tha ki mujh se iss vishay ke bare mein puchne ke liye?"

(Haan it could be but it's not necessary that it will happen after a month..it could also happen before that...you told Arjun to ask me about this ?)

I nodded feeling embarrassed,

"Haan Bua...aur kya karthi? woh kab se mere sehath ke bare mein puch rahe the aur mere mu se nikal gaya tha ki shayad ekk mahine ke baad kuch hoga aur woh samaj nahi rahe the! toh meine keh diya aap se puchne ko..aur waise bhi...unhe isske baare mein kabhi na kabhi toh jaana hi hotha na..Dusshalla bhi toh hai!"

(Yes Bua...what else could I do? He kept asking about my health and I kind of slipped that my health could go down next month and he was not understanding ! So I told him to ask you..and anyway..he had to know about this at some point right...Dusshalla is also there!)

Kunti nodded her head and said,
"Haan Anya tum satya kaha rahi ho..isliye meine mere sare Putro ko samjha diya.."

(Yes Anya you are right...that's why I explained everything to all my sons..)

I wanted to ask her something but hesitated.

Kunti Bua understood and encouraged me,
"Kya hua Anya...tumhe kya puchna hai? Bolo!"

(What happened Anya...what do you want to ask? Say!)

I sighed and asked,
"Woh...jab hoga toh kaise..mathlab kapde rakhna hai? Aur Usse hum saaf kaise..?"

(Its...when it happens then how..I mean do we have to keep a cloth? And how do we clean it..?)

Kunti shook her head and said,
"Nahi Putri...kapda avishya rakhna hai par tumhe usse saaf nahi karna.."

(No Putri...you need to keep a cloth ofcourse but you don't have to clean it..)

I looked at her in horror and disgust.

She chuckled and explained,
"Mera kehane ka thathpary yeh hai ki ek Mantra hai..jise upyog karne se kapda kudh saaf ho jatha hai.."

(What I meant was that, there is a mantra..when used would make the cloth clean automatically..)

I gaped at her in shock.

"Kya?!"

(What?!)

Where was this magical thing in Kaliyug? Why were we even using plastic for this? What happened? Right..all our mega huge universities were destroyed! All its books burnt! Bloody invaders!

Kunti chuckled at my reaction and nodded.

I cleared my throat and asked,
"Bua woh Mantra seekao na..uska abyaas karne ke liye mein sajh hu!"

(Bua teach me that mantra na..I am ready to practice it!)

Kunti smiled and said,

"Mantra toh mein tumhe seekha dungi Anya parantu uss ka upyog tum tabh hi kar paogi jab tum apne pehle do chakr yaani ke- muladhara aur svadhishthana chakr ka jaagran karoji...prathidin dyaan karogi toh aasan hai!"

(I will teach you the mantra Anya but you will only be able to use it when you have activated your first two chakras that is- muladhara and svadhishthana chakra...if you meditate daily then its easy!)

I squealed excitedly

"Bua! Kanha Bhaiya ke karan..prathidin dhyaan karne ke karan..Mere pehele do chakr jaagran ho chuke hai!"

(Bua! Because of Kanha Bhaiya..due to daily meditation...I have already activated my first two chakras!)

Kunti Bua praised me and then taught me the mantra. She made sure that I got the correct pronunciation.

Then she also showed me the exact procedure. I hugged her in happiness making her laugh.

Kunti Bua then pulled back from the hug and said,

"Anya, mein kehena bhool hi gayi! Mein jab tumhare paas aarahi thi, mujhe Balram mila tha..woh keha raha tha ki woh hum sabh ke liya koi vishesh bhojan banane wala hai..!"

(Anya, I forgot to tell! When I was coming here to see you, I met Balram on the way..he was saying that he was going to make some special meal for all of us..!)

I froze and looked at her in horror

"Mathlab abh Bal Dau Rasoi Ghar mein hai?"

(As in Bal Dau is in the kitchen now?)

Kunti Bua nodded with an innocent smile.

I shook my head in pure horror and fear,

"Areyy Bua aap kithni boli ho! Baldevi rasoi mein hai! Yeh aap ko mujhe pehele hi batha na chahiye tha! Yeh bohoth bada khathara hai!"

(Areyy Bua you are so innocent! Baldevi is in the kitchen! You should have told me this before itself! This is a big danger!)

Saying this I ran outside the room while lightly lifting my lehenga in my hands so that it doesn't make me fall while I heard Kunti Bua ask who Baldevi was.

I ran towards the common wing where the boys hangout most of the time and sure enough I spotted my Kanha Bhaiya and his Parth deep in some discussion.

While I didn't want to disturb them, this was an emergency! I ran towards them.

"Aap dono yahan hai??? Patha bhi hai ki wahan pe Baldevi Rasoi ghar mein bhojan bana rahi hai????"

(You both are here??? Do you even know that Baldevi is cooking a meal in the kitchen ????)

Kanha Bhaiya looked at me with a horrified and scared look.

"Baldevi?"

I nodded while Arjun looked between me and Kanha Bhaiya with utter confusion and asked,

"Yeh Baldevi kaun hai?"

(Who is Baldevi?)

I shook my head and said,

"Kumar Arjun, woh na Bohoth lambi kahani hai..mein badhme kabhi batha thi hu! Abhi hume Baldevi ko kisi bhi halath mein rokh na hoga! Kanha Bhaiya kuch karo!"

(Kumar Arjun, that is a very long story..I will tell you some time later! Now we have to stop Baldevi at any cost! Kanha Bhaiya do something!)

Kanha Bhaiya looked at me and asked,
"Mein kya karun? Jaise Woh mera bada sunn the hai! Ek baar jidh mein agaye toh bohoth kaatin hai..tum jaan thi ho!"

(What can I do? As if he listens to me! Once he comes in his stubbornness then it's very different...you know that !)

I quickly made plan and looked at Arjun,

"Kumar Arjun aap jald se jao aur Bhrata Bheem ko Rasoi ghar leke ao! Unki sahayatha lage gi! Mein aur Kanha Bhaiya tabh tak Rasoi mein jake sambhal ne ki koshish karenge! Aur haan ho sake toh Jyesht Bhrata Karn ko bhi lana...lekin Bhrata Bheem ka rasoi mein hona athiavishyak hai! Aap Samjhe?"

(Kumar Arjun you go and get Bhrata Bheem to the kitchen as soon as possible! We will need his help! Till they Kanha Bhaiya and I will try to handle everything in the kitchen! And yes if possible try to get Jyesht Bhrata Karn as well..but it is extremely important for Bhrata Bheem to be in the kitchen! Did you understand)

Arjun nodded and I looked at my Kanha Bhaiya, who shook his head in an exasperated way. We turned around to rush to the kitchen, but Arjun remained rooted to the spot, his gaze fixed on me lost in thought.

I asked him in a sarcastic but stern tone,
"Kumar Arjun??? Mere chehare mein kuch laga hai?"

(Kumar Arjun??? Is there something on my face?)

He shook his head, his brow furrowed.

"Meri muh mein koi kithab hai?"

(Is there some book in my face?)

Arjun shook his head again, his eyes still locked on mine, looking confused where I was going with this line of questions.

"Toh mera muh kya dekh rahe ho??? Jaldi jao aur Bhrata Bheem ko lao yaar!"

(Then why are you staring at my face???

Go fast and get Bhrata Bheem yaar!)

He sheepishly nodded and ran away, while yelling over his shoulder,

"Mein Bhrata Bheem ko latha hu!"
(I will bring Bhrata Bheem!)

As soon as Arjun was out of earshot, Kanha Bhaiya burst out laughing!

I looked at him and shook my head as we rushed towards the kitchen,

"Aap ke Parth bohoth Ajeeb.. hai!"

(Your Parth is very...Ajeeb (weird)!)

As I said that, a small part of me also found his antics endearing and cute, which made me smile.

When we reached the kitchen entrance, we found the kitchen staff outside looking extremely nervous and tensed.

As soon as they saw us, they approached us and complained how Balram Dau had asked them all to leave since he was making something. They were terrified since they hadn't completed cooking the royal dinner yet.

Kanha Bhaiya calmed them down,

"Dekhiye aap sabh shanth ho jaye..hum agaye hai na? Hum dono kuch karthe hai! Mein vinathi kartha hu ki aap Shanth ho jayega"

(Look everyone please calm down...we are here na? Both of us will do something! I request you all to please stay calm)

We then entered the kitchen to a weird smell.

Kanha Bhaiya went straight to Dau who seemed like he was in the middle of adding something to a weird looking concoction.

"Dau! Yeh Aap kya kar rahe hai??"

(Dau what are you doing?)

Dau looked at Kanha and said firmly,

"Nahi Kanha! Mein aaj kuch nahi sununga! Mein aaj athiyanth swadhisht bhojan banaunga! Dekho kheer abh bane hi wala hai"

(No Kanha! I am not going to listen to anything today! I am going to make extremely delicious meal for everyone! See Kheer is almost finished)

He pointed towards a big pot which had a brown liquid thing. I looked horrified. Kanha Bhaiya took one look at it and shuddered.

Soon both Dau and Kanha Bhaiya started arguing in loud voice while I helplessly looked between the two of them. I heard a burning smell and went and put out the so called Kheer out of its misery by putting out the fire.

I sighed feeling helpless when I heard a terrified voice ask,

"Yeh kya hai?"

( What is this?)

I turned to see Bhrata Bheem pointing at the mutilated Kheer with a horrified and a scared expression on his face.

I gave him an understanding look and said,
"Yeh..Dau ka banaya hua Kheer hai!"

(This..is the Kheer made by Dau!)

Arjun shook his head and muttered,
"Abh mein Samjha..Madhav aur Anya ke pratikriya ka karan.."

(Now I understand...the reason behind Madhav and Anya's reaction)

I nodded at him and turned to Bhrata Bheem,
"Bhrata Bheem! Kuch kijiye! Bal Dau ko bilkul khana bana na nahi aatha! Yeh bohoth bada khathara hai! Aap toh Khana banana ache se aatha hai..kuch bolo unhe! Yeh Kanha Bhaiya ki baath nahi manenge.."

(Bhrata Bheem! Do something! Bal Dau doesn't know how to cook at all! This is very dangerous! You are such a good cook...say something to him! He won't listen to Kanha Bhaiya...)

Bheem nodded and to my amazement, he displayed incredible amount of persuasive skills by gently pointing where and what Dau messed up.

I looked at Arjun and he was also staring at his brother with a hint of pride and amazement.

Soon Dau conceded and he decided to stop his experiments in the kitchen making all of us breathe a sigh of relief.
