My hands were still shaking, I can hear the gun shot going off followed by the sound bites of a body falling backwards with a thud.

Blood whooshing out everywhere.

Red.

Red.

Red.

I kept seeing red.

Hastily I opened my eyes, breathing heavily and shook my head to get myself out of this trance.

I tried to distract myself by looking at the scenery we were passing by. But there was nothing to look. Just green.

Green everywhere.

To my right I see Blake talking quietly to someone on the phone whilst driving us. Suddenly he stopped in the corner of the deserted road and cut the call.

"Why are we waiting ?" I croaked, before clearing my throat and asking him again, seeing that he was making no attempt to speak.

"They are gonna bring them here,"he said curtly.

I let out an exhausted sigh before leaning my head against the window.

And then I thought about him.

At the thought of him all I see red and hear a gun shot ring in my head, again. I closed my eyes biting back a sob, trying to calm myself before I lose it all together.

I was seconds away from screaming when by miraculous timing a mini van stops in front of us.
I wait anxiously as one by one little feet get down, all looking around confused whilst holding onto each other tight.

They were here.

I felt the tears burn in my eyes and a lump form in my throat. Wiping my eyes on my sleeve, I slowly got out of the vehicle scanning each of them wondering if this was actually real.

The sudden excited squeals and shouts made something inside me snap. I looked at them as they stared at me longingly waiting for me to come towards them.

Instead I took a deep breath, I closed my eyes and promised myself to let go of him. What was done is done. He was gone and those five beautiful flower were my priority. My family came first.

I don't regret what I did to come here. Sure it's gonna haunt be for the rest of my life but seeing my family right now, I know it was worth it.

I know that now.

"THEA!"

"THEODORE!"

"TEE"

"TEE I MISSED YOU"

"WE KEPT WAITING FOR YOU TO COME"

"BITCH WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU"

Each of them ran to me attacking me with hugs and smothering me with kisses and in the midst of it, I looked up at the starry sky with new tears brimming in my eyes and whispered softly,

"I'm sorry it had to be this way,"

Taking a deep breath I looked down back at my family and something bloom in my chest.

I was finally home.
