Cub shot up from his bed, his eyes darting around the room. "Gah! What is this place!?" He called to no one in particular.

A Girl with blonde hair with brown, oversized jacket and gloves sat in a chair by the wall of the room. She rigidly put some goggles on her head, pulling them so the lenses were just above her eyes. She glanced at Cub, pulling out two small water bottles. "So, you're awake," she grinned, opening both bottles.

Cub watched as she placed the tops on his bedside table. "...Where am I? Who are you?" He asked.

The blonde girl looked up, smiling even more. "Why, this is the main base! We found this mansion a while ago." She took a sip out of the green bottle of the two. "And I'm False. You?"

"My name's Cub."

"Cool." False muttered, looking into the other bottle, which was red. "You're a vamp, right?"

Cub's eyes widened. She had just said this like it was the weather! Like it was genuinely normal! "...Yes?" He said uneasily. Sadly, False noticed his uncomfortableness, tilting her head.

"That's perfectly okay here, you know."

Cub nodded, sighing. "Who else is here? Or is it just me and y-" He jumped up. "Where's Scar!?" A loud shock of pain went through him, making him drop back.

False stiffly stood up, propping him up against the backboard of the bed. "Scar is perfectly fine. There are about..." She started to count on her fingers. "18 other people here. Well, if you can even say that, nobody here is truly human." She stirred the contents of the red bottle with her finger, then handed it to Cub. "Here; looks like you might need this." Cub took the bottle warily, looking up at False in confusion. "It's blood, don't worry." She assured him. "It's cow, if you're okay with that. Nobody was willing to except Bdubs, and anyways-" She trailed off.

"So its just plain old cow blood."

"New, actually. I think it was collected this morning. It's 12, by the way."

"PM?!" Cub exclaimed.

False nodded. "Now drink that blood, or you can't see Scar."

—————

Cub plopped the bottle on his bed stand after a minute, swiping his hand across his mouth. He pushed himself up, to another strike of pain. He lifted his sweater, showing tons of bandages.

False got up quickly but stiffly, putting her arm around Cub as he stumbled. "C'mon, I'll help you. We'll just head a bit through some hallways and the like, just get downstairs." She assured him.

As the two hobbled down the hallway, Cub noticed an eerie silence to the place. "Hey, you said there was a lot more people here. This place seems pretty empty to me, though." He muttered.

False laughed. "Of course! Just this floor is more of a bedroom space. All the action goes on downstairs."

After a few minutes of walking down hallways and staircases, Cub asked a question that had been on his mind for a while: "Hey, you said everyone here is inhuman."

"I did."

"Well, you seem pretty normal."

"No, no," she chuckled. "I'm near the top. Inhuman. No human whatsoever."

Cub tilted his head. "What are you, then?" He asked.

False stopped walking, placing Cub against a nearby wall. "Look at this." She said, pulling a glove off. Her hand was pure wood, with chipped paint on the tips of the fingers. She pulled her hand into a fist, opening large splinters on her knuckles. Her pinkie and ring finger then fell to the floor. Cub gasped at the whole thing.

False laughed, picking up her fingers and placing them in her glove. "I might of been happier about this if it wasn't the 3rd time in the past week that this happened." She said, grabbing Cub and walking down the hallway. "Wels isn't gonna be happy, but I need to get less stiff anyways, so a visit to Doctor Knight won't hurt."

—————

Cub and False finally came to a large oak door. False grabbed the knob and opened it, laughter immediately filling the air. Cub assured his new wooden friend that he was fine now, he had to see Scar. False nodded, heading to a door nearby to see this "Wels" or whatever.
