Fragments of Fire | Zuko Poem
This is a fan poem I made off of the ATLA fanfic Foxfire by: @LightofShadows. It's a very beautiful fanfic, a little mature sometimes but if you aren't comfortable with it you can skip over any particular mature stuff. I just really loved the beauty of their writing and the amazing story and it inspired me to make this poem.

I'm clawing at a fragmented mind
I'm scared of my past, of what I would find
There's a fire deep inside my eyes
My name, my label, is a heavy disguise
The words that echo in my ears
Flashes of pain and burning of tears
"She was born lucky, you were lucky to be born"
The voices are gnarled brambles and my past is tangled in its thorns
Your hands are what ground me, clearing away the mist
Your crooked smile, and the tenderness of your kiss
I've never felt an emotion as raw
As the feeling of when my ice cold heart started to thaw
You reach into my soul in a way no one can
But what will you do if you find out who I am?
Will everything change when the past is uncovered?
Will you stay with me after it's discovered?
I want to know who I am, I truly do
But I'm afraid of what it would turn me into
Would this life I have now forever change?
Will our paths be forever estranged?
"She was born lucky, you were lucky to born."
Who will I turn into once my label is shorn?
