10 Ways WWE Disrespect Their Fans
10. F**k Women's Wrestling
For some time now, WWE decided to try and make the women's division better by coming up with the Queen's Crown tournament this year, but when you compare it to the King of The Ring tournament, it bombed.
Our favorites: Liv Morgan and Toni Storm were eliminated in the first round under two minutes, which was how many minutes each match of the whole tournament except the finals between Piper Niven and Zelina Vega, which went on for 5 minutes.
And the minutes from every match combined, checks notes, 19 minutes total.
In the King of The Ring, the matches went longer and were more exciting, but the WWE just flips the bird to every female wrestler, not just to every promotion in the world including their division, but to their own fans.
If the company was going to make women's wrestling revolutionary, why not make the Queen's Crown tournament as special as the men's? And also, call it the "Queen of The Ring"!
At least Mickie James sought an opportunity to help the NWA by doing an all women's PPV and taking a shot at WWE for not wanting to do another Evolution PPV.
This just makes no sense whatsoever and it's so disrespectful towards the fans and the legends who paved the way for female wrestlers, well, except the Fabulous Moolah. Fuck that bitch.
And speaking of legends...
9. The Legends > Current Roster
Now this is quite obvious from the look of things.
Remember in 2018 when WWE did this to the fans?
WWE: Here you go, you're the authority now!
Us: We want Cesaro!
WWE: SHHH! SHHH! SHHH! (To production staff:) Make sure their voices are at a very low volume. (To fans:) SHHH!
It's very obvious WWE has been doing this for years and it doesn't seem like it's going to end anytime soon. And what's even worse?
With legends getting all the screen time instead of the current roster, it's baffling that WWE refuses to showcase men and women like Liv Morgan and Finn Bàlor. What happened to building up-and-coming wrestlers? Just stop ruining characters that the fans like and wanting to see pushed to the moon!
We don't need part-timers in their 50s who say they can still go when they really can't and challenge for the WWE Championship or Universal Championship! I'm talking about Goldberg and Bork Lobster (he's not in his 50s but you get my point, right?) who just book themselves into the title picture with no buildup and fucking the fans, and other wrestlers, out of opportunities!
Seriously, WWE, just go out of business if that's how you treat people who work for you. And it's really insulting to every fan who spends their own goddamn money on this. I'm serious (like a late period), Jesus wept.
8. We Choose Who You Like
Now this part two of the age old problem and I seriously can't believe that this is still happening.
Vince McMahon's shoot promo "You like what I tell you to like" is one of the most infamous in pro wrestling history and it aged like red wine from Italy, not the segment, but the promo he pulled while ending it with "Life sucks, and then you die".
Jesus Bicycling Christ.
WWE, if this is was your dream before the Damn-demic, just go back to the Thunderdome since you like telling people what to do like robots: when to gesture, cheer, and boo.
And also, how about you manipulate crowd noise while at it, like you've done it at Wrestlemania 32 between Triple H and Roman Reigns? I'm sure they won't listen to this complaint because the complaints we give out to them go in one ear and out the other, which is a joke.
How is that fair? You choose who we don't want to be pushed and you bury the ones we want pushed when, I don't know, THEY'RE NEW TALENT AND YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PUSHING THEM INTO SUPERSTARDOM!
FUCK ME!
7. False Finishes On PPVs
Please excuse all the ranting that I've been doing because I just want to let it all out while writing this.
I just hate false finishes on PPVs because when two women or men have a match and they get counted out or disqualified, not only does it hurt each character they have, it also hurts the feud they're trying to entertain the audience with.
Sure, it can happen on TV matches, keep the feud strong and save the huge victory and huge defeat for the PPV, but the PPV is a sacred place. It's where rivalries either evolve or end, but when you have a false finish in a match, how is that giving the fans their money's worth?
It's been done loads of times and let me try to remember some from the top of my head:
- Seth Rollins vs The Fiend (Universal Championship) Hell In A Cell 2019
Seriously, does this have to happen? A referee acting like a MASSIVE KAREN by calling off the match over a disqualification and the fans chant either "We want refunds" or "AEW" in such animosity that they don't want to see this feud again?
- Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton (WWE Championship) Battleground 2013
Now, the idea of WWE Battleground was to see two wrestlers go at it and one of them would fucking win! How did that work?
Let's start from the beginning: Daniel Bryan was red hot at the time and won the WWE Championship at Summerslam from John Cena until he was pedigreed by Triple H and Orton would cash in successfully, turning that moment into one of the best bait and switches of all time.
D-Bry Bry would keep going until Orton and him met at Battleground and fought, until the Big Show, along with his conflicting gimmick where he would cry almost every week like a World's Largest Dumbass, comes out, knocks everyone but Randy Orton out, and it was ruled out as no contest.
And the worst part? Before the WWE Network was a thing, you had to buy each PPV $50 the company puts out to fans. That's absolutely in-fucking-excusable
Those are the only two matches I can think of since I forget sometimes, please don't mind that, and WWE just loves to hate the fans with this kind of bullshit.
And speaking of bullshit...
6. Wrestling Isn't Important
How is it not important? You have the word "Wrestling" in your company's name! If that's what you're catering to fans then showcase some of that for once!
We have talk shows that are so cringe that I don't think it would make storylines even better.
"In-Zayn" was a recent example and it was so cringe that I literally want to gouge my fucking eyes out whenever it comes on! Listen, I applaud Sami Zayn for trying to make it work, but there are too many talk shows for fuck's sake!
Not just talk shows, we have segments that make no sense like when Flair and Ripley are doing a story about crutches especially when we have Shayna Baszler acting so stupid that she can't outrun a fucking haunted doll!
Wrestling isn't that important? Might as well be a MAD Magazine parody at this point because if I were running a wrestling company, I'd focus on the wrestling than talk shows and segments thought of by an old man who doesn't know what's cool anymore along with his best friend Bruce!
It's so insulting to the fans about the fact wrestling isn't the main thing when they have a lot of talented wrestlers, I mean had a lot of talented wrestlers.
5. Endless Releases
Why are there so many wrestlers getting released thanks to Nick Khan? Why is Vince allowing Khan to— I'M NOT DOING IT!
This is so stupid that WWE is letting go so many wrestlers, corporate people, and legends signed with the company.
They just let go William Regal, Road Dogg, even some writers from the creative team for NXT 2.0 along with 130 wrestlers within the last two years because of the most popular reason: "budget cuts" and seriously, that's just a bunch of horseshit.
At least CM Punk had the balls to diss them while in a promo against MJF, but still, why are they letting go so much talent? It makes less sense than a turd not flushed down the toilet and it's fucking maddening, especially when we have...
4. Endless Rematches
While rematches don't have to be a problem: capitalize on the feud, make it better and worth wanting to see, but have it so many times while having less than so many wrestlers on your roster is ridiculous.
For example, in 2020, Andrade and Angle Garza and the Street Profits fought so many times throughout the year that we just got tired of it, especially when, the following year, Big E and Apollo Crews fought over 15 times and it was basically the same match over and over again!
Seriously WWE, just stop wasting my fucking time! Give me something new! Make me interested in new ideas and storylines so I can invest all the money I have in my wallet! Give me a feud that might pique my interest instead of Sonya DeVille and Naomi feuding just because they don't like each other for no reason! Just end it please! Stop it!
WWE has been doing this for years and how can the fans want to see more rematches? And speaking of tag teams like the Street Profits...
3. F**k Tag Team Wrestling
Now, seriously, I'm not gonna compare wrestling companies, but you can't help but bring up AEW. Sure, they got problems of their own, but they seem to understand one thing and that Tag Team Wrestling is fun: creative cheating, hot tags, high flying moves, athleticism.
But when you look at WWE, it's just so ridiculous that they have no less than three or four tag teams on Raw or Smackdown while there are slightly more on NXT.
Why is the company just dead set against tag team wrestling? It makes no sense and it's so insulting towards the fans.
And to be quite honest, I'm a big fan of tag team wrestling and if the story makes sense and the people are athletic and charismatic as all hell, that's where I'll invest my money, but the WWE barely have tag teams to keep me interested. Sure, RK-Bro is entertaining with Randy Orton being the serious one while Matt Riddle just brings the comic relief, but I can't be invested in their tag division.
I'm sorry, it's just how I feel. Now you know why I'd prefer AEW's tag division over WWE's. If you don't like my thoughts, just know that I will hate you to your core.
2. All Hail The Four Horsewomen
Now we get to talk about WWE's obsession over the four horsewomen! FUN!
WWE just preferring Flair, Lynch, Bayley, and Sasha Banks over the entire women's division is like one of those sentences that feels like it has always existed.
They just can't help themselves when it comes to them and just being over-pushed is ridiculous when they have other female talent that they can showcase. Take Liv Morgan for instance: she was and still is so popular that they made her lose to Becky Lynch to times in a row and now Lita comes up and takes her spot without any reason.
Then we have Toni Storm, who went from 2018 Mae Young Classic Winner, to NXT UK Women's Champion, to being drafted to Smackdown, where she was barely featured every single week until she lost in the first Quarterfinal match in the Queen's Crown Tournament and was in a rivalry with Charlotte and those two told a story about throwing pies in each other's faces!
After that, Toni asked for her release and it was granted because she hated her booking and didn't like the landscape. I don't blame her for feeling that way and for asking for her release from the company, but when you sum up the whole feud, that was a way to make Flair be shoved down our throats even more!
WWE, you have a women's division outside the four horsewomen, you're supposed to be pushing them and molding them into Superstars, but you don't want to do that because...
1. THE RULES DON'T MATTER
Why are the WWE not going by the rules of pro wrestling? It's just so dumb that we literally feel like idiots when the company tell us, "We don't care about what you think!"
There are rules for pro wrestling that's been established a century ago and the WWE do not care at all and here are some examples:
- Little things like the board on the announce table can't cause a DQ except when it does.
- The referee can't count out main even players except when they do.
- And the wrestlers are allowed to write their own promos and plan out the matches except when they can't.
Why is it so baffling to the fans? Why does WWE don't care about the rules? Why does Satan have to piss on everyone's brains?
WWE, seriously, for the last time, just go out of business if that's how you view pro wrestling: a playground where the rules don't mean a single solitary shit!
And here's the difference between you and I, WWE: I've written some rules for being in a relationship, and I follow them!
And right now, if you need me, I'm gonna go take a bath with my two good friends Fred Cable the baseball bat and Timmy The Toaster!
