Don't wait to be inspired. Of course, don't hesitate when you are; but writing crap is better than writing nothing at all. Don't throw out your drafts. Keep them to read years later and realize how far you've come. Keep them for a good laugh. Sometimes you feel like you'll never be able to enjoy your own writing and to be honest I'm not sure if that ever ends. But keep trying. Always keep trying. Write about things you haven't before. Try romance, science fiction, maybe try a diary. Just pick up a pencil and write.
