Flame's POV:

Ever since Starfish came into my life, I've felt different somehow. Lately I've felt overprotective, aware, and cautious. Is that even a feeling? Or is this something different? Is this feeling even an emotion? Whatever it is, I hope this isn't anything horrid.

The rainy days kept on coming without stop. Starfish grew quite a bit in the past few days. Me I haven't aged a single year, physically, but I'm getting tired of waiting for something to eat. Starfish had plenty of water to keep her self up and going. I kept her warm whenever it was to cold for her. The bad thing about being opposites is that sometimes I have to turn my fire off. Just because its "too hot" for her. Such lies.

Today was one of the coldest days we have ever experienced. My fire was on high. But it was one of the happiest days for both me and her. Why? She learned how to fly on her own. Even I couldn't believe it.

"I finally learned how to fly!!!" Starfish said excitedly. I couldn't help myself but smile.

"Yhea, you finally made!" I responded while smiling.

She kept flying ever so elegantly. It almost seemed like she was flying underwater. Her fur glistened in the light, her tail following behind. I layed my head down for a little nap, but things didn't go so well from there.

Starfish's POV:

When I saw Flame lay down his head I thought he was tired. But I thought wrong. His fire lowered down and his fur quickly turned black. I screamed his name.

"Flame!!" I shouted as I ran to him. I was to worried to even think straight. But the good thing was that he was much more calm than me. Flame finally spoke up after a while.

"Go and find some lava or fire. It's found underground. Just dig and you'll find some. When you do give it to me." That's all he said. I nodded my head and ran out to the cave's entrance and started my journey. 'I'll be back Flame. Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it.'

~Weeks Later~

Weeks have passed and all I have found was water underground. Where the hell would I find such a thing in this water world? I sighed heavily and stopped for my lunch. The water was oddly warm in this puddle. 'Wait warm? It can't be! I finally found food for Flame!! Starfish I gotta say you've done it again!!'

I started digging as quick as I could. The water started bioling and I ended up burning my paw. It hurt like hell. And that got me wondering. Where does Flame come from? I'll answer that later right now I need to feed Flame to keep him by my side.

3rd POV:

Starfish spread her wings and started to dig a tunnel directly to the cave's entrance. On the way she burnt her paws almost losing the fur on them.

"Flame I'm back! Flame? Flame!" Starfish yelled out his name as soon as she saw him laying on the ground in a corner of the cave.

"Starfish, you came back." Flame said in a weak voice.

"C'mon you got to get up!" Exclaimed Starfish while tugging at his ears. Flame opened his eyes lazily and stood up, lifting up his upper body. He grunted in pain trying to stand up. Starfish help him lift his lower body.

"Let's go Starfish, lead the way." Flames vioce was raspy and tired. Starfish insisted on having him get on his back. But instead of arguing with each other, Flame got on. Starfish flew up high in the air and found the spot. She flew near the water circleing around it.

"I can't get any nearer. Its to hot!" Flame slightly smirked at her statement. Starfish was confused at his reaction.

"It is for you, but not for me!!" Flame responded then jumped in the pool of hot water. Starfish rolled her eyes playfully knowing that he would do that.

Flame's POV:

As I jumped in the water I felt much healthier. My fur started glowing, it felt wonderful to be back!! I couldn't be more satisfied with anything else in my life. I started digging deeper into the ground until I finally hit:

"LAVA!!!!" I was overwhelmed with happiness, I started eating right away. I heard Starfish laughing somewhere off in the distance. 'Her laugh is cute. It has always been. Always bright and happy.'

Starfish's POV:

As I saw Flame eating like wild, I laughed. I never saw him this happy. I'm glad his smiling for once. I circled around him waiting for him to finish eating. After a whole hour of watching Flame eat, I saw a meteor shower coming. 'Oh great.'

"Flame!! A meteor shower is coming!!"

"Ok! Lets get going then!" I heard Flame respond and started flying towards our home. I kept an eye out for Flame just incase he didn't get left behind.

But little did I know that the meteor shower caught up with me. The last thing I saw was me falling towards the ground. Then total blackness.

"Starfish!!!" Was all I heard from Flame.

Flame's Pov:

I saw Starfish hit the ground head first. Her body fell lifeless, leaving her wings wide open. Except her right wing that had a meteor on it.

"Starfish!!!" I began running towards her. Hoping that she would be alive from that impact on her head. I took off the meteor from her wing and took as look at it. Her feathers were badly burnt off, and so was some of her skin. I picked her up, laying her on my back, and ran to the cave. 'I'll check on her head once we get there."

We finally got to the cave and I went straight to checkimg her head. Her head was cracked open a bit wide. I got worried sick, what was I supposed to do? I sat down next to her and looked at her face. I cried not knowing what I would do. I started looking around aimlessly until I looked outside. Of course, water. Water was the answer to my problems.

I turned off my fur and started pulling her by her tail out in the rain. I sat inside, near the entrance and waited for something to happen.

3rd POV:

Water began to slither on her body like a snake. The many streams of water went to her damaged wing and head. Flame stared in awe, not being able to blink. The feathers on her wing started to grow. The crack in her head started to go back to its normal state. Once it was all done the streams of water took her body in the cave. One pulled Flame by his tail over to her side.
"Hey, let go of me!!" Demanded Flame while he tried to stop himself, clawing the ground. He turned on his fur to get the water away from him, but they got a big bubble of water and dropped it on him. He grumbled and sat by Starfish.

The streams of water soon disapeared, leaving Flame and Starfish alone. Starfish soon woke up and Flame hugged her. Not ever wanting to let go.

"Flame? Are you ok?" Asked Starfish confused at his sudden reaction of affection.

"I am now." Flame responded hugging her tighter.
