Family Visit

This had been one of the longest three months of my life. There was entirely too much stuff to do, yet there was so little time to get it done. In reality, I was actually quite proud of myself for everything I had managed to accomplish in the past three months, especially since I was transitioning from two months pregnant to a whopping five months pregnant.
In the last three months, I've had so many doctor appointments. .scratch that; I've had so many Doctor Ratchet appointments. He wanted to make sure that my little techno-organic baby was as healthy as could be. The appointments were absolutely exhausting, but I learned two things: I was having a little girl and my due date was around March twenty-fifth. I was more than excited about this and Carly was too, of course. She had been right about the gender the whole time and the moment I told her, she left her apartment with Sam to go shopping for her. All I can say is that my child is going to be set at least until her first birthday.
Other than that, I had received two $100,000 dollar checks in the mail from Hotchkiss and I thanked God almost everyday for making Dylan impeccably stupid. Also, my dad had given me about $50,000 dollars claiming that it had been from my mom's trust fund. I believed him, but I just wished he would've kept it for himself.
I also managed to get a job at Acurretta Systems, only I was working from home to prevent any unnecessary issues with my health. It had been Bruce's idea at first. Apparently he did this with almost every one of his female employees who got pregnant. He allowed them to take the needed time off and even offered them full pay. I was more than happy to do my work at home though; it was a lot more comfortable than being surrounded by dozens of people at once. Of course I made less there than I did at Hotchkiss, but I didn't mind. He had more employees to pay and even so I still got a good paycheck every month.
My biggest challenge during the past three months was getting my own house, but I managed to do so with the help of my dad, Epps, and Monique of course. With the money I got from Hotchkiss and my dad, I managed to buy myself a really nice two story house; it was smaller than my dad's but bigger than our old house in Washington state. In reality, I didn't really need such a big house with only three people living in it, but I was comfortable with it and I absolutely adored it. It had four bedrooms, a three car garage, a pool, and I even managed to put in my own shooting range out back. It took about a month to get everything situated inside the house, but to say that I was happy with the way it was would be an understatement.
On the other hand, I talked my dad into moving into my old apartment. Given the fact that his house was far more extravagant than my own, it didn't seem right that he was all alone inside it. He happily agreed with me though. The only thing he had to do was sell his old house and move in, given that I had never really sold my apartment before moving because of that sole reason. I was just more than ecstatic that my dad no longer had to pay unnecessary bills and he even told me how happy he was living in a smaller space.
Despite all of that, nothing has really changed in the last three months aside from the fact that it was now the middle of November and it was getting colder. The only other bad thing was that I was also getting fatter and fatter as the days went on. My little girl just better be happy I love her.
The situation regarding Adalyn's siblings hadn't faltered either, even though they still had yet to come after her. Ironhide was still hell-bent on protecting her and wouldn't stop until he faced the brothers himself. He only ever went to base if it was something incredibly important or if any of the Autobots required his immediate assistance. Also, he and my dad set it up so that Adalyn could take her medical classes online and still earn her credit and degree. Neither of them wanted her going back to school given the fact that her brothers knew where she went to school, so she stayed with me and she even had her own room here; she was family after all.
At the moment the two of us were sitting in my living room watching Criminal Minds and discussing baby names. This had been the main topic for the past week or so and the both of us-and sometimes Carly-had been having too much fun with it. We've discussed at least two hundred different names and none of them have even sparked an interest inside of me. I only had four months to choose a name though, so hopefully I could find something.
"How about the name Rue?" Adalyn chuckled.
I scoffed. "It's cute, but I feel like that's a grandma name. Where'd you even get that from?"
"The Hunger Games books," she answered as she stared at the TV.
I raised a brow. The Hunger Games? What the fuck kind of book is called the Hunger Games? "This is useless."
"What about April?" she snickered.
"No. I thought we discussed the monthly predicament," I chuckled.
She shrugged. "Why don't you ask Hide? I'm sure he could give you some names."
I groaned and slumped down into the couch, placing my hand over top of my protruding belly. "No. He's not very common with human names."
She laughed. "Where is he anyway?"
"Upstairs taking a little stasis nap."
"Ah, figures. What about the name Agnes?" she snickered.
I shot her a look. "This is two-thousand-eleven, not freaking nineteen-forty-four."
She burst out laughing and I just shook my head at her. Most of the times she chose the names she chose just to get a rouse out of me. It was rather aggravating if you asked me. This girl couldn't be serious to save her damn life.
"Imogen?"
"Did you just make that up?" I inquired.
She shook her head, a sly smile on her face. I just rolled my eyes and turned back to the TV, her voice sounding yet again. "Okay, this time I'm being serious. What about Kaelyn, Kyleigh, or even Kayleigh?"
I looked at her, the name Kaelyn actually sparking something inside of me. "I like Kaelyn a lot. Where do you even come up with these?" I asked her with a laugh.
She smirked. "I'm just that good and that smart."
I grunted and was more than ready to retort until there was a loud knock on the front door. With my luck it was probably one of those girl scouts coming back to try and sell me more cookies. I groaned and got up from the couch, stalking out of the living room and into the main hallway that lead to the front door. Once I reached it, I yanked it open, surprised to see two oddly familiar men standing in front of me.
The one on the right wore a blue leather jacket with a grey shirt and black jeans. His eyes were a light shade of blue and his face was covered with light scruff while his hair was trimmed short on top of his head. The one on the left wore a brown peacoat with a white shirt underneath along with blue jeans and brown boots. His eyes were the same shade as the other man's and his face was covered with more hair and he had a fuller head of hair than the one beside him. Aside from the hair differences and the outfit differences, the two looked exactly alike. I assumed they were siblings or even twins.
"Can I help you?" I asked them.
The one on the right gave me a warm smile. "Yes, you must be Azalea Lennox. We're looking for someone. Her name is Adalyn Hughes. We're her brothers. I'm Mason and this is Jason," he greeted.
In that moment, I swore my heart stopped. How in the hell did they find my house and how did they know who I was?
I quickly smiled at them, hiding the fact that I knew of their intentions. "Yeah, she's here. I'll just got get her. Wait here," I instructed them as I closed the door. I quickly ran into the living room, startling Adalyn as I did so.
"What the hell is wrong with you? I'm not giving you money for girl scout cookies. I already told you you didn't need them," she exclaimed.
"Shut up. Get upstairs now and wake Ironhide up," I told her, nothing but seriousness in my tone.
She gave me a confused look. "Why? What's wrong?"
"I just met your brothers." Her eyes nearly burst from her head and I watched as the fear settled into her eyes. "Go wake him up now," I instructed her.
She wasted no time in getting up off of the couch. As soon as she was up the stairs, I calmly walked back to the front door, doing my best to put a smile on my face. I twisted the knob and pulled it back open, the smiling faces of her brothers meeting my eyes.
"She's in the shower at the moment. Can I take a message?" I asked as I leaned on the door.
"This is really urgent. We need her to come with us. There's been an accident involving our parents," Jason told me. Bull shit.
I frowned and decided to play along with them. "Oh my gosh. Are they going to be okay?"
Mason shook his head. "It doesn't appear to be that way, unfortunately."
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry." This was going to be such a risk, but in a matter of minutes they'd be gone anyway. "Come in. I'm sure she'll be out in a couple of minutes." I gestured them inside and they happily obliged, crossing over the threshold and into my home.
A glint caught my eye though as I shut the door; what I noticed was that the both of them had guns in their pockets. This was about to be a fight to remember.
"It's a nice home you got here," one of them said.
"Thank you," I smiled as I stepped around them.
Mason, I think, glanced down towards my abdomen and smirked. "Expecting, I see?" I only nodded and placed a protective hand over my stomach.
"Do you know whether or not it's a boy or a girl?" Jason asked me.
"It's a girl," I chuckled.
Before either of them had the chance to respond, I heard footsteps rushing down the stairs. I turned my attention to see Ironhide's holoform step off of the last stair. He strolled over to me, immediately pushing me behind him in a protective notion. Mason and Jason chuckled.
"Relax, we weren't going to hurt her. She's pregnant. You really think we'd stoop so low as to harm a pregnant woman?" Jason mused.
"No, but you would stoop so low as to sell your seven year old sister's body to random men," I remarked.
Mason laughed loudly. "I figured you were lying from the start, Azalea. There's no water running and I could hear the footsteps pounding up the stairs before you answered the door again."
"All we want is our sister back. You can either get her for us, or we'll go upstairs and get her ourselves," Jason retorted as he took a step forward, attempting to intimidate my Autobot mate. It wasn't exactly working for him though.
"I'd love to see you try," Hide growled.
"There's one against two here. You really believe that you can stop us all by yourself?" Mason chuckled as he took out his gun. Well damn.
Hide scoffed, clearly not impressed by his display of weaponry. He shouldn't be either. In his true form he was basically a fucking arsenal. He had more guns than a small country. "You'd be wise to leave now before you got yourself into trouble."
"Give us the girl," Mason demanded. He waved his gun around and it was only then that I noticed there was something slightly off about the weapon. Even from here I could see the open cartridge; there was no ammunition in the gun at all. He was only using it as a ways to threaten us or to scare us, but this only amused me.
"Wait. There's no ammo in your gun," I laughed.
He blinked at me. "Yes, there is," he stammered.
"Mason, my father and my uncle are in the army. I've spent my entire life surrounded by guns and shit like that. I know the weapons better than I know the back of my hand. There's no damn ammunition in the gun," I told him.
He looked uneasy and I rolled my eyes before running up the stairs. I ran into my room where Adalyn was sitting on my bed with her knees to her chest. "Hey, Adalyn. Come downstairs with me."
She gave me a look. "Why? Are they still down there?"
"Yes, but they won't hurt you. They brought guns here without ammunition in them. Ironhide will take care of them," I told her as I pulled her off the bed.
"They might be heartless pigs, but they'd never kill someone. I know that much," Adalyn chimed as she stepped out of my room. I just laughed at her. She walked down the steps about halfway until coming to a stop. I kept pushing her until she was finally in front of them before going over to lean against the wall, dragging Ironhide with me.
"What are you doing?" he whispered to me.
"Could you possibly be useful outside in a couple of seconds?" I asked him. He grunted and I only smirked before turning back to the siblings.
"It's so nice to see you again," Jason said to Adalyn.
"Would you like to come with us?" Mason asked her, a sinister smile on his face.
"No," she answered quickly.
"Take her," I said to the brothers. Adalyn's eyes shot to me, a look of betrayal, fear, and hurt flashing in her eyes. I gave her a reassuring look and she turned back to face her brothers who wasted no time in grabbing her. They pulled her out the front door and I shoved Ironhide outside. "Your turn."
He grunted and ran outside. I just walked back into the living room and sat down on the couch. Even from in here I could make out the sound of Ironhide transforming as well as the sounds of her brothers' frightened screams. I was just happy my house was in the outskirts of Washington or we could have had some problems regarding his transformation.
The front door slammed shut and the sound of loud footsteps filled my ears. Adalyn ran into the living room and stood in front of me, her arms crossed. "What the hell was that?"
"The easy way out," I chuckled. She groaned and sat down beside me. "So, the name Kaelyn, huh?"
She shot me a look and I laughed. "You're unbelievable," she chided. I just laughed. At least she was now safe.
A/N: This chapter was lame as scrap. I truly do apologize for that. My original idea was shot down when she got her new house. This was originally supposed to take place in her apartment and it was supposed to be a lot more action packed, so I apologize again. Thank you all for reading though. I still love you so much.
*Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
