Chapter seven
Within moments of our gazes locking she was there standing before me, a feeling of shame spread through my body like wildfire. Looking down I could feel the anger radiating from her without even having to look at her furious posture, lowering my tail slightly I lowered my head out of respect.
"Care to explain why you carry the stench of Pokémon and blood on your hands!?" She snarled through our once broken mind link, wincing I closed my eyes.
"During my stay in the lab a small boy found his way to my chambers, I felt a strange connection and need to protect him, when they took him away they drove me to near insanity and used that strange gas to make me see that horrible man hurting him, I tried to fight it, but when I did, the nightmares grew worse and worse until I met these kids and their Pikachu," I explained not daring to open my eyes nor meet her gaze, only when I felt her energy relax did I dare open my eyes.
"How did you free her?" I heard MewTwo question the youngsters, after a few moments Jake spoke up.
"We went to the pokemon battles that are held under the city looking for clues on where our grandparents went and when we saw her Pikachu wouldn't leave without helping her, when we found her she had a collar around her neck that injected the gas straight into her systems as well as a tracking chip in the back of her neck, originally Pikachu went into the arena to try and reason with her but everyone else wanted bloodshed so she was injected with that stupid gas and if it wasn't for the guy who put the thing around the neck she probably would have killed him too when they broke out of the battle facility," Jake explained in a rather respectful manner, MewTwo stood in silence for a moment before turning her gaze back to me which out of guilt I looked away from.
"Very well, however, I must get her away from here, a distressed pokemon is easy to track, an injured one even more so and with her abilities still untested it is a painful process when trying to figure out what they are, MewLing, it is time we leave," MewTwo ordered her voice softening, standing up I took a glance at the kids who seemed rather saddened by our wishes to leave.
"MewTwo, perhaps the children and their Pikachu could be of help, we need all the help we can get staying hidden from those who seek our power, I also owe them a favour for freeing me," I questioned through the mind link I cherished sharing once more, MewTwo turned and glanced the youngsters over before turning to me with a nod. Beckoning them over I held out my hand in which they questionably took before teleporting us away, I never liked the idea of teleportation but it was a far easier method than walking about during the day as one of the most powerful pokemon. Looking around I realised I had taken us back to the waterfall in which I had first been captured, looking around I placed a hand on the ground feeling the sway of the gentle grass and the soft dirt beneath it. Closing my eyes I cherished the feel of nature, being stuck in concrete walls and being abused was not something I favoured at all. Without realising I sent a soft ripple of energy through the ground a small distance away and while my eyes were closed I could make out a transparent image through my closed eyes to see a deer watching us curiously from where it was hidden in the thick shrubbery, standing up I looked at my hand before looking over to see the deer taking off into its woodland home.
"This place looks awesome!" Abby giggles excitedly as she began to explore a small ways away, Jake and Pikachu stood a small distance off having a conversation that I couldn't be bothered listening to.
"Bringing human children here was probably not the best choice young one, they have many more different needs than we do but should the time come I'm sure they will become of use, that Pikachu however is different, what do you notice about him?" MewTwo questioned softly as she approached behind me, looking over the small electric pokemon I thought about the question for a moment.
"He doesn't use his abilities like other pokemon, perhaps due to not needing them, he's alert at all times unlike most pokemon, he's observant which is good, his main interesting point is his personality, most electric pokemon are hyper but he is quiet and collected, probably due to years of experience as he doesn't seem like a young pokemon," I pointed out from our watch point, MewTwo nodded as we continued to watch the children and their Pikachu explore the area and I began to feel the nagging feeling of when I first met little Liam. Turning my gaze back towards the city I began to feel anxious, if they hurt that boy because of me I would never forgive myself.
"I know what you're thinking MewLing, the city is dangerous and finding that boy will only get people hurt, if they figure out you are trying to find him they will use that against you," she stated her voice soft but stern, shaking my head I turned to look at her.
"He made me a promise to never let me be lonely, I made him a promise to protect him, and wether or not you agree I'm going to find him and save him from whatever those men have planned for him," I snarled, MewTwo simply shook her head as the others approached.
"Okay so we have decided that we are going to head back to the city, MewLing mentioned a young boy called Liam and to us it's clear there is some sort of bond between them, by helping you guys we might even be able to solve our own mystery," Jake explained as he glanced at both of us, MewTwo simply nodded while I gave a thankful smile.
"Thank you, I can give you glimpses of him from my memories but other than that finding him is purely chance, he won't be easy to find since they know how easily I went mad after they refused to let him see me," I explained, all three nodded and so with a small flash of light I allowed them glimpses into my memories. Time was not on our side, if a ball of yarn was left rolling for too long eventually it would become a very thin line of string that even the gentlest of force could snap and break.
