Chapter 1, Falling
Nicky POV
"Nicky, do wishes come true?" asked my little sister. I'm Nicky, Nicky Silver. My little sister is Anna Silver. We live on a farm with our mom and dad. I have lived here my whole life. I go to school at Mountain Range Academy. It's a good school. My sister and I are the only ones who live on a farm. My friend Will lived on a farm three years ago though. what do I look like? I have brown hair and green eyes. I usually wear a white shirt and gray pants. Anna has dirty blonde hair and green eyes.
Anyway, I was doing my chores and the sky was full of cloud, so it looked like it would rain any second. I tried to get all our animals inside. I knew a few of our animals didn't like getting wet. My dog Hector helped me. He was a German Shepard. Hector usually sleeps in Anna's room, which makes me mad. I would feel safer with him in my room at night, but I guess Anna needs him more than me. Well, it started to drizzle. I hoped in wouldn't get any worse.
After a few minutes, it was pouring. I was inside my house at the time. It was lunch time. I started to eat my sandwich when it happened. Lightning struck and its light a person was falling out of the sky. I only saw it for a second. Then, lightning struck again and I saw the person falling again. I grabbed my rain jacket. I had to help that person. The person looked as old as me, and I am only twelve years old. I ran to where the person had fallen. I ran as fast as I possibly could. I was cold, wet, and scared. I had a phone if I needed to call an ambulance. I hoped I wouldn't have to.
When I found the person, I saw it was a girl around my age. She had short light blue hair, which was strange. Her eyes were closed so I couldn't see them. She was wearing a purplish white dress that went to her knees and had tank-top like sleeves. She had a hair clip that looked like red flowers too. I saw her feet were bare and scratched up. I kneeled down. She was alive. She needed help too. I tried to call the ambulance. I didn't have any service because of the rain. I picked her up. She wasn't too heavy. I started running towards my house. I couldn't run very fast because I was carrying her. I almost tripped once, which really scared me.
When I got to my house, I immediately wrapped a towel around her and laid her on my bed. I locked my door so Anna couldn't get in. I didn't know how my parents would react, so I didn't tell them. I looked at the girl. What else could I do for her? "I wish you are okay," I said. "As you wish, sir," said the girl softly. A blinding light filled the room. I covered my eyes with my hands. Then, the light was gone, just like that. The girl was awake. I saw her sea blue eyes looking at me. "Hi. I'm glad you're okay," I said. "You're are the reason I feel better," said the girl. "My name is Nicky," I told her, "What's your name?" "My name is Autumn," the girl replied. I was surprised. I didn't know Autumn could be a name for a girl. "How come you fell out of the sky?" I asked Autumn. "I don't remember why," she told me. I was disappointed. I like hearing stories with crazy things like that. "Nicky, who are you talking to?" Anna asked. "It's not any of your business," I replied to her. "I wish I could read your mind," Anna replied madly. "As you wish, ma'am," Autumn said. "No!" I cried. She put her hands together in front of her chest and closed her eyes. She whispered something I couldn't hear. "What?!" Anna yelled, "I can actually read your mind! You are talking with a girl named Autumn and you are thinking about your wish!" "You are making that up!" I yelled at her, "Go away!"
After a moment of silence, I heard Anna stomp away. "Can you take away that wish?" I asked Autumn. "Yes," she replied, "Do you want me to?" I nodded right away. She went into the same pose as she did when she let Anna read my mind. "What's your wish?" Autumn asked me. "I-I don't want to tell," I told her.
Autumn POV
I woke up on this bed one day. I don't remember how I got there, nor where I even was. The boy's name was Nicky. He had a sister that I granted a wish for. I can do that. Everyone in my family can. There are a few bad things about being able to grant wishes. One, you cannot grant wishes for yourself. Two, you have to grant the wish. Three, every time a bad person finds out you can grant wishes, they try to kidnap you. The list goes on.
Well, I liked this boy. He had brown hair, green eyes, perfect skin, great muscles, and he was nice. I wanted to know what he thought of me. It seemed like he thought I was cool. I really want to be like a normal person. What I mean by that is I want to not be a person who can grant any wish. If I granted too many wishes, I could die. The thought scares me. Why do I have to have the wish granting power?
Someone POV
One day, I saw someone fall out of the sky and someone run to help that person. I immediately wondered if the legend my grandpa told me was real. It was a legend about a girl falling out of the sky and being able to grant wishes. I was driving in my truck at the time. I parked my truck were I could see the house. A few minutes later, I saw a boy running from where the person had fallen. He had a girl in his arms. I put a rain jacket on and hid in the bushes of a bedroom. I heard the boy walk in. In a few minutes, I learned the legend was true. Then, an idea came into my head. If I could kidnap her, I could put her in a room and sell a ticket to go into the room and get a wish granted. Money was on its way.
