Chapter 64
Night came around everyone from the search had gone to bed. Due to clearance, Didi, Monty, Izumi, and Numa were allowed to stay in the UA dorms. Didi stayed in the room next to Eva's while Monty, Izumi, and Zeno shared a dorm next to Bakugo's room. Eva had been training hard for most of the day, but she was beyond tired. She was laying in her hammock staring at her tapestry and thinking of the cave. She looked over at flower bells in her room, she touched her lips, recalling the feeling of other lips, the feelings of their arms became real. Her senses picked up someone walking down the hall and standing outside her dorm, they stood there for two minutes.
"You can come in Ochaco," said Eva, she looked at the door as Urakaka quickly slipped in with her head down.
"Yuki," breathed Urakaka as she leaned against the door. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course," said Eva sitting up. "You can join me in the hammock." Urakaka did exactly that, she stared at her hands. "Hm?"
"What does it mean to you to be human?" asked Urakaka this caused Eva to tilt her head. "You've spent so long trying to blend in as one. What does it mean to you to be human? What is obvious to you? What do you mistake for being true?"
Eva crossed her arms as she tilted her head while thinking. "Well...that's a bit of a complex question for anyone. "I do know it's more than having iron in your blood." Urakaka looked up at her.
"So what is it to you?" asked Urakaka.
"Being human, I feel like means expiercing life," answered Eva. "To understand others. Being human can be challenging aspect of life. To look at life in different forms." Eva straightened her head back up. "Are you thinking of Toga?" Urakaka nodded. "Being human can mean different things to an individual even if it is right or wrong." The door opened, and they looked to see Didi entering the room, she had cups of tea and the fixings floating. "Didi." She came and joined them in the hammock.
"I could not help but overhear your conversation," said Didi as Urakaka watched the floating cup of tea be fixed by a spoon acting on its own. "The walls are thin."
"Sensitive hearing," said Urakaka looking at her tea, Didi nodded.
"I have only been around humans for a short time...this morning was the first time I stepped into this world," said Didi as she grabbed her tea cup. "I agree with Eva, being human means something different for each person. As for this Toga girl...Eva has spoken of her...said she was like a vampire or shapeshifter."
"She's killed so many," said Urakaka.
"From what you've told me about her, it sounds like she wants to be accepted in this world," said Didi. "Which is what a lot of humans yearn for, right?" Urakaka nodded. "It is okay to not forgive her."
"You must think I'm weird for being concerned about Himiko," said Urakaka touching her hair.
"I think it makes you human," said Didi, this caused the human girl to look at her, and Didi grabbed her face. "Your emotions are what make you human, whether it makes you think you are weird." Urakaka removed the girl's hands. "As for Himiko...you both have different ways of how you see the world...different realities of it."
"Didi, I appreciate your words," said Urakaka this caused the other girl to smile. Suddenly, Didi opened up Urakaka's mouth, she began to examine it.
"Didi!" yelped Eva pushing her away.
"I just wanted to see if she had sharp teeth like Diokles told me," said Didi. "I was expecting fangs."
"It's alright," said Urakaka touching her mouth with a smile, she started to get out. "Some have sharp teeth depending on the person's quirk." Didi nodded. Eva remembered doing the same to Katsuki when they were 9.
**Flashback
A bit after Katsuki found out the truth, Eva's wings were in recover, and he was pushing her on the swing.
"Higher?" asked Katsuki giving a push. Suddenly, the swing came to a stop, Eva turned looking at him. "What's the matter, Eva?" Eva slowly reached up, putting her fingers near his mouth. Katsuki opened his mouth, Eva stuck her finger under his upper lip, lifting it.
"You don't have fangs," said Eva. "I heard humans have very pointy teeth." He playfully bit down on her finger, there was no smile like he was hoping for. Katsuki then turned Eva side ways so they could both sit, back to back. He began to move so the swing would twist. "What are you doing?"
"Trust me," laugehd Katsuki. "It'lll be fun."
***
"Did you want to stay here for the night, Urakaka?" asked Eva. "For company?" Urakaka stared at the two for a few seconds and nodded. The three girls all got situated on Eva's bed, they stuck Urakaka in the middle of them.
"Eva," said Urakaka. "On that paper." Eva made a sound. "Tell us about it."
***Flashback
Eva was sitting against a wall reading one of the books that Spinner got her, she didn't even look up when Toya and Shigaraki walked in. In no time, her makeshift bookmark was placed on the page and her book was taken away. Her makeshift bookmark was made for her by Spinner, it was a small piece of bark, which he carved into. Toya got between Eva and the wall, putting her in the middle of his legs, and held up the house they picked out. Shigaraki laid in between her legs, putting his head on her chest.
"I am thinking of turning this room into a gaming room," said Shigaraki pointing to a room.
"Make sense with you and Spinner being big gamers," said Eva. "What do you have in mind, Toya?"
Toya pointed to the same one Shigaraki pointed at. "We can make this a TV and game room." He pointed to another. "A craft room for you." Eva looked at him. "You mentioned how you weave baskets and shit. It would be good for your multi-purpose building in the village."
"Oh," breathed Eva in appreciation looking back at the place. "That would be nice."
"It is our place," said Shigaraki as he turned his body, shoving half of his face into her chest. "We should all enjoy it."
"Our place," repeated Eva, Toya then kissed her cheek causing her to close her eyes and smile.
***Flashback over
"Ashido was right, you had them whipped," said Urakaka as Didi played with Urakaka's hair. "Tell me more," Eva told them a bit more till Urakaka fell asleep. The two fae turned to each other.
"You put her to sleep, didn't you?" asked Eva. "Just now."
"She needs her rest," said Didi. "She won't get it with everything on her mind." She looked at Urakaka and then back at Eva. "It's strange being in a human building, weirder than I thought."
"You won't be here for long," assured Eva as she glanced back at the open window. "I do appreciate you coming to help."
"Lord Corpse is right," said Didi. "We can no longer solely depend on you, it was selfish for us to do so." Didi reached out, grabbing Eva's hair. "You should get some sleep, I know your thoughts are keeping you up as well."
****
Morning came around, and Eva came down to see Izumi in a deep conversation with Tokoyami and Dark Shadow.
"Morning cousin," greeted Izumi looking over.
"Morning to you three," greeted Eva walking over. "I admit it strange all of you interacting."
"Fear not," said Tokoyami holding up his hand. "We are all getting along." Eva nodded. "Your cousin was just telling me the aspects of his jobs."
"He has a sweet room, Eva," said Izumi as he looked at her up and down. "I must say it is strange seeing you in this strange shirt and pants."
"It's Bakugo's old shirt and school gym pants," answered Tokoyami. "Bakugo always gives her the shirts he outgrows." Izumi just nodded.
"Back to his room, have you seen it?" asked Izumi.
"Yeah, we exchanged scary stories in there," answered Eva as she looked at her skull shirt. She then looked over to see Katsuki holding two glasses, one with orange juice and the other with cranberry nectar. "Excuse me." Katsuki looked up when Eva approached him, he lit up. "Morning Katsuki."
"Morning Eva," Katsuki greeted handing Eva the cranberry nectar. "Training hard?" She nodded. "Good." He looked over to see Zeno speaking with Iida and Shoji. Monty was speaking with Kirishima and Sato. "Getting help from fae is a genius move especially since they can move under All For One's radar." He used his free hand to grab hers. "You focus on recovering and getting stronger." He looked back at her. "I know you are impatient about wanting to jump in and help.
"Right on the nose," said Eva. "It is as you said before, have to trust the process." He nodded as he ruffled the top of her head, kissing her cheek. Soon they were getting ready to leave, Eva was in Izuku's room as he was getting ready.
"Eva," said Izuku looking at her, she had an All Might action in her hands. "You never spoke about what the Aoyama family mentioned, about the massacre."
"It's not really something I like speaking about," answered Eva. "And learning the truth behind all of it...it is a lot to process."
"You don't speak much of that day in general," said Izuku sitting on his bed. "You know you can talk to us about it, Kacchan and me at least." Eva looked at him and nodded.
"It's not any easy day to talk about," said Eva. "I did lose my mom that day, in front of my eyes." Izuku put a hand on her shoulder.
"Did you know the people, Jun and Pip?"
"Yeah, Jun was my dad's brother, my uncle," answered Eva. "I am not angry at them. They wanted to help fight against AFO, they wanted to do something good." Izuku smiled. "And this information has brought closure for my people about that day. We can now all move forward."
"What are they going to do?" asked Izuku. "They settling the score with this war, aren't they?" Eva nodded. "A lot of us are in the same boat then." He leaned forward. "Does this mean both the Yuki and Moonbloom are loyal to us?"
"My whole village," answered Eva. "Which tells me things will in fact get better for my people, they will come to the human realm more, which means my hero goal will be mainly accomplished." Tears welled up in Izuku's eyes, he quickly wiped away. "It's okay, you can turn on the waterworks." Instead, Izuku picked her up out of the chair engulfing her in a hug, she happily hugged back. "I've missed your hugs so much." He pulled back setting her back down.
"I know this is bad timing," said Izuku wiping his eyes. "But the other vestiges would like to have access to your mind, Nana wants to see Shigaraki."
"Oh, you should have said something sooner," said Eva.
"Huh?" sounded Izuku.
"While I was with Shigaraki, I got to see different sides to him, ones I'm sure Ms. Nana would like to see of her grandson." Eva took a step back. "Did you--"
"They already know," said Izuku with a sorry voice. "They are a part of me." Eva sighed lowering her head. "She's not angry about it." Eva sighed in relief at the same time the door opened. They looked to see Katsuki and Shoto in their hero suits.
"Time to get going nerd," said Katsuki, he clicked his tongue.
"It's my fault Ka Suki," said Eva holding up her hand. "I was holding him up."
"We will see you later," said Katsuki as he walked in. He kissed her cheek twice, they then all left, and Eva was back to training, she was standing in the field with All Might, Lord Corpse, and Great Pa Go observing, Endeavor and Aizawa were on a video call, they were getting to see all the things she was capable of doing. Eva took a particular stance, she put her hands together in a particular way, and about 10 silhouettes appeared, all capable of moving as if they were real people. She then turned her left foot and raised both hands, along the forest line, new lines of trees popped up, branches grew out, and the branches produced bulbs, then flowers, that were quickly replaced by leaves. All Might was completely amazed by what he was seeing, he was smiling the whole time.
"If I were there I would strangle you for holding back this entire time," said Endeavor crossing his arms.
"I am more pleased her years of training with this is no longer going to waste," said Lord Corpse. "Will this change the strategy?"
"No," denied Aizawa. "We will keep everyone where they are. This will change training for her in the future. Yuki, I want you to continue working on your quirk and abilities." Eva nodded. "If we had the time I would have one of the Pussycats come to continue to put you through more quirk."
"May I step in?" Great Pa Go. "Just tell me what they had her doing and I'll be sure it is continued till D-Day."
"That would be great!" chimed All Might. "We will need her to be at the top of her game for this to be a success, especially with the loss of blood she is dealing with."
"Part of the reason Yuki is not on search," said Aizawa. "This should give her time for it to be recovered now it's not being constantly drained out." Eva nodded, she spent another two hours showing her capabilities and training while Great Pa Go went to speak with Ragdoll. For the rest of the day she worked on her quirk. Eva was making her way back to the dorm with All Might.
"Something on your mind Young Yuki?" asked All Might. "You're not as happy as I thought you'd be coming back."
"Oh," breathed Eva, she was quiet. "It may sound strange...but I am worried about Shigaraki, I know we are enemies technically, but I can't help to worry."
"That just means you are on the right path to being a good hero," said All Might, Eva looked at him. "You did create a bond with him, it is natural for you to be worried about a friend."
Eva looked away. "Shigaraki won't admit it, but he is scared of what All For One has planned for him in the future." She held her arms. "I was able to look inside his mind, and somewhere deep, he was a little kid about 5 just surrounded by all these hands, he looked so scared. The Shigaraki I interacted with in the cave won't be the same one on the battlefield. That is if he is in control not All For One."
"That's All For One for you," said All Might. "Using people as pawns, playing with them. It's truly a despicable thing." He put a hand on her shoulder. "We will defeat them."
"By defeating we are also saving," said Eva. "Izuku said that Gran Torino said to him. Sometimes in order to save a person, you have to kill that person." All Might nodded. "Despite the time I spent, I do think Shigaraki is beyond redemption."
"Young Yuki," said All Might removing his hand. "You must never feel shame for what went down in that cave. Shigaraki is currently the worst villain in history, he has done horrible things. Yet, you decided to try to protect him from All For One. You extended your hand to him, and he accepted it." Eva looked at him. "You meddled when you didn't have to, that is the essence of being a hero." He smiled down at her. "You are a good person Young Yuki, and others acknowledge it too."
"I did more than meddling," said Eva as they continued to the dorms. "We gave each other pieces of our hearts. He is permanently etched into mine as I am into his." She looked to see All Might smiling. "You don't seem angry?"
"Everyone deserves to feel love," said All Might. "Sadly, this could be the right person, but the wrong time."
Eva smiled sadly looking away. "I told him perhaps in another universe we have better luck in that aspect." All Might put a hand on her head.
"You have grown so much this year," said All Might. "Be proud of that, no matter what." Eva looked at him. "You have always been strong power-wise, but you let yourself heal from the past and learn to love. Be proud of it." She stared at him. "Hm?"
"You never mentioned that you knew my mom," said Eva. "How come?"
All Might looked forward. "Your mom is not an easy subject to bring up with you, I was aware that she dated Endeavor for a short time as well." He looked back at her. "Your mom truly was an amazing person, but I know you don't need to be told that." Eva smiled. "She foiled a lot All For One's plans, it does feel right for you to do so as well."
"Did she truly terrify the big bad?" asked Eva out of curiosity.
All Might smiled. "A sly snake didn't stand much of a chance against one who friends actual snakes." He smiled more. "She respected the rule I had of no cruelty and no killing." Eva nodded. "She's broken his bones multiple times, filled his mind with dreams of terror." Eva smiled. "I am guessing she passed skills like that onto you."
"Yes, sir," said Eva looking forward. "Said its only for that need to be humbled." All Might laughed. "I do admit I did use it on bullies before high school, I was...not heroic back then." All Might laughed. "Do you think I'm a monster?"
All Might grew quiet. "Not at all, Young Yuki."
Eva got back to the dorms late to find her class already back, she saw Sato showing Didi a recipe for a cake who was pointing at a different one. Izumi was talking to Jiro and Yaoyorozu, Monty with Koda and Shoji, and Zeno was with Sero, Mineta, and Kaminari. She overheard Monty's conversation with Shoji and Koda.
"Do people ever tell you that you remind them of an Octopus?" asked Monty tilting his head.
Shoji nodded. "They have called me a monster because of it."
"How strange," said Monty folding his arms. "Octopus are incredibly intelligent, I assume you are highly intelligent."
"People like us don't creep you out?" asked Shoji in surprise.
"Not at all," said Monty. "You remind me of home, provide comfort like you did for Eva." Eva then went over to the people she did her work-study with.
"Any luck?" asked Eva going over to the trio.
"No," denied Izuku." Struck again."
"We will have to try again tomorrow," said Shoto looking up at her. "How was your day?"
"A lot of training," said Eva sitting next to Katsuki. "They said me staying back would also give my blood more to regenerate."
"Good," said Katsuki. "It won't be at max, but it will be better than when you left the cave." Eva nodded. Night came around, and Shoto pulled Eva into his room to talk for a bit.
"What did you want to talk about?" asked Eva as she sat on the floor.
"I want to see them," said Shoto as he pulled out two pillows, Eva waved her hand and he frowned.
"Didi is staying in my room, her nerves are a bit shot being in the human world for the first time," answered Eva, Shoto smiled acknowledging that Eva was going to be with her friend. He remembered when he took Eva to I-island, she couldn't sleep the entire first night due to her nerves. The second night, she was sprawled out and passed out on her bed, Shoto took that moment to admire her. Eva furrowed her eyebrows. "What do you want to see?"
"The rest of your tattoos," said Shoto. "Please." Eva nodded, she stood up looking down at her skull shirt. Shoto's hands landed on the hem, he gently lifted it over her head. Eva looked away blushing a bit. "You are more hickey than skin." Eva turned redder as she turned her back to him. "Jesus."
"It just felt good, didn't feel as good when you gave them, but still good," said Eva as she became even redder, flowers popped up around the room. Shoto blushed , too. "I'm sorry." Eva started to remove her pants.
"What are you doing?" asked Shoto in alarm.
"The rest of the tattoos," said Eva as she let them drop, this time Shoto turned red. So, he stepped back, and by the time Eva turned around he was only in his boxers. Shoto watched her remove her bra, then showed Shoto the floral tattoo.
"My mom and Fuyumi's favorite flowers," acknowledged Shoto as he touched it. "A pansy...your flower." Eva looked at him to see he was smiling at the tattoo. Shoto then dropped to his knees and moved her underwear a bit to see the yin-yang tattoo. "Fire and ice."
"With some of the tattoos I could tell he was thinking of your family," said Eva as Shoto traced it. Shoto then moved on to the last tattoo on her thigh, he gently turned her thigh so he could get a better look at the tattoo.
"With these tattoos, it's like you brought back pieces of Toya," said Shoto with a sad smile.
"Literally," said Eva glancing at the back of her shoulder where Toya tattooed his name. Shoto stood back up, and he looked down at her, as soon as she looked at him, he pulled her into a tight hug, and she happily hugged back. They both got redressed, they bid each other night and Eva returned to her room where Didi was passed out. Eva quietly got into the bed, snuggled up to Didi. Just as she was falling asleep, the door open and closed. The familiar carmalized scent filled the air, Katsuki slipping under the blanket getting close to Eva, putting an arm around her. She held his hand, falling into a slumber. Her mind went to Izuku's where she was to speak with the vestiges. She retold them everything she learned while in the cave.
"I must apologize for my brother," said Yoichi. "I am not surprised he would want to experiment on you."
"You don't need to apologize," said Eva. "You are not your brother."
"Is there anything you noticed?" asked Banjo.
"Tomura majorly," answered Eva. "Deep down I could tell he was scared, sometimes he showed he was scared in slight ways."
"The crying little boy," said Izuku acknowledging what he saw in the past, and Eva nodded.
"What concerned you most with my grandson?" asked Nana.
"The way his body grew," answered Eva. "If I stood at a certain angle I could see it, but I could hear his groans and screams of pain well. It was horrible to listen to."
"What do you mean by body grow?" asked En.
"Sort of like a starfish and lizard," said Eva. "When they lose a limb they grow back...but also reminded me of a few movies I watched with you Izuku. Strange body modifications, I have no idea if those fingers would be capable of decay."
"Explain," said Nana. "Is it not another quirk?"
"No, I could hear All For One blabber of Singularity down the hall each time it happened," recalled Eva.
"I'll speak to others about this tomorrow," said Izuku. Eva looked at Shinomori. "Did you have something to ask?"
"Mr. Shinomori?" asked Eva.
"Hm?" He sounded.
"I know you heard the conversation, which Moonbloom?" asked Eva.
Shinomori looked at her and then stared down at his feet. "It seems every welder so far has had a Moonbloom at their side, including you Deku even if her clan in the name is Yuki." Izuku gasped in surprise as well as Nana. "When I was training myself and strengthening One For All, the Moonbloom I spoke to promised to help me stay hidden from All For One during that time. They went by the name...Python." Eva made a groaning sound putting a hand to her forehead. "You recognize the name?"
"The Moonbloom clan is pretty big, but I didn't expect it to be someone closer to my line," answered Eva.
"Isn't Python your Great Gran Minty's brother?" asked Izuku, Eva just nodded. "Will you speak with him?" Eva nodded again.
"I want to ask about my grandson," said Nana holding a fist to her chest. "You said...there were parts I should see." Eva nodded and then she showed them her memories with Tomura Shigaraki minus the spicy stuff, some kissing which she covered Izuku's eyes during it. A lot of it was playing board and card games, little moments around the fire, sitting between his legs while reading a book. Shigaraki goes into depth while holding up the character description booklet or League of Legends. He was lit up as he talked about something he enjoyed sparkles in his eyes. The first kiss which Eva blurred out the majority of their bodies for. The talk of the house they were going to move to in the forest, opening that business. After that, Shimura had tears in her eyes and a small smile. "Thank you."
"Not to be a buzz kill," said Kudo. "Since you showed us your memories, can you show us conversations you heard from the big bad?" Eva nodded.
"Good call," nodded Izuku "I'll be sure to extra attention to this." He looked at Eva, he was concerned, she seemed to know that Shigaraki is likely to die, and it was going to hurt her badly.
***
A new morning had come, Eva was cutting up and washing fruit with Zeno, and they were quietly talking to each other in their native tongue.
"What are you going to do after this?" asked Zeno. "If your goal making things better, will you continue to be a hero?"
"I have been thinking about that," answered Eva. "I want to say yes. Just because things get better does not mean they will stay that way. Though, I will not be as active as the rest."
"Going for the Griffin sanctuary?" asked Zeno, Eva nodded. "Lord Corpse would be pleased to hear that. Will it be that place the villains bought for you?"
" Strangely yes," answered Eva. "It is deep in the forest and in the mountains, a perfect spot for it really." Zeno let out a sigh. "Hm?"
"It is kind of like you are expecting the opponents to die," said Numa, Eva stopped what she was doing. "You do."
"Yes and no," answered Eva. "The only thing that keeps Toya alive is the desire for revenge, I'm not sure what will happen if he gets it or when his body just gives in. He can't really feel pain, sure he made grunts of pain, but he can't feel his quirk burning him. As for Shigaraki...I see death in his future, sooner than he wants it." Zeno took the bowl of blueberries from her. "Spinner I am sure will be fine. I hope...I'm not sure if what I did in the cave was kind or cruel."
"I think kind," said Zeno. "I think they know it too." Eva looked at him. "You could have chosen to be blunt and standoffish. Instead, you choose to try to understand them, bond with them, and love them even for that short period of time all of you had with each other. They will remember how you treated them and they will understand why you do not want to fight them, besides All For One. We all seem to want a go at him one way or another." He looked away, to drain the bowl of water. "I am concerned, you are aware of the fact your heart will break with Shigaraki's and possibly Dabi's death."
"It is not something I can prevent," said Eva softly. "I don't know how to undo what afo has done, I wonder if I should have held them tighter."
Zeno looked at her. "You did everything you could." He looked back at the sink. I also think you should be more open with harmony before the fight comes."
"I know," said Eva. "I just feel guilty."
"Work on reconnecting as friends now, you may end up regretting it if you don't," advised Zeno. "You two have been good friends to each other, it would be a shame if you walked away. Maybe, kiss a little?" Eva glared at him. "There is no such thing as too fast with whats on the doorsteps. take the chance or risk loosing it. Tell Suki how you feel, I guarantee he is feeling the same way."
Instead of training while everyone else searched, Eva stepped into the Otherworld to speak with Python. She was back in fae clothes which made her feel at ease. She found the person she was looking for sitting on arch boulders in a cove. Python looked about 40 and was in the age of 100 or so. He was a tall man, bald and small oval-shaped eyebrows and a stable beard. He wore a blue and green shawl that went down to his biceps and green armbands that covered most of his arms. He wore a dark blue skirt with vines that went up his legs, marks all over.
"I was wondering when you were going to come to me about Shinomori," said Python without looking back. "Come sit next to me, Eva." She did as she was told, she hung her legs over the edge. "I went head to head with All For One a long time ago, gave me this ugly scar." He pointed to a scar that ran across his stomach.
"Bet it confused him why he was being attacked by fae," said Eva. "Wielder after Wielder...I got caught."
"And you managed to escape him like a sly fox," said Python looking at her. "You are a lot like your mother in that aspect." Eva looked at him with a small smile.
Python looked out to the sea. "I had mixed feelings when he passed away at the age of 40. I was delighted he was not murdered by the big bad, all the same, my friend who I spent guarding for 16 years was gone." He stretched out his hands. "We were more than friends, we fell in love."
"How did you handle that pain?" asked Eva.
"It's a pain that does not go away," said Python. "It is important to have people you can lean on." He closed his hands. " With that war going on, Addie had made a point to speak with All Might more."
"I want to know about the 4th as well as your fight with Big Bad and the way you drowned 100 men," said Eva.
"300," corrected Python. "I shall tell you the tales of that time."
A few hours later Eva was entering back into her room, she came out of her tapestry to find that it was dark.
"Shoot."
She looked to see Didi curled up on the bed, holding the turtle stuffed animal. Eva went over to her desk to pull out a piece of paper and pen. She then went down to the common room to write out that she had learned to report it for training tomorrow.
"Eva."
She looked up to see Shoto sitting up on a couch, she saw him when she came in, but fast asleep.
"Where were you?"
"In the otherworld," said Eva as she began to write, Shoto got up, he walked over to the table to see what she was doing. He then noticed she was in Otherworld clothes, he missed seeing them. Shoto sat next to her, pulling the chair till their shoulders touched, and watched her write.
"After this is all over, let's just enjoy a day at the park and some soba," said Shoto, Eva looked at him. "I know I should not be planning things not knowing the outcome."
"I have faith you will succeed," said Eva. "You have been training so hard." He looked at her. "There is something I want to tell you about Dabi." She looked back at what she was doing. "When I had my hand on his core, I could feel a lot of heat...but deep down there was something cold." Shoto blinked. "I am probably going to sound like Izuku. But take a candy apple. The outside is this hardshell and you need a hard bite to be able to break through."
'That truly does sound like something he would say,' thought Shoto.
"This fight with your brother will be physically and psychologically demanding," said Eva. "Expect wild cards, that is what---"
"Dios says," said Shoto cutting her off, she looked at him. "You have spent a lot of time with my brother and I have been spending a lot of time with yours, this past week majorly." Eva smiled raising her eyebrows. "Nothing in the same sense of you and Toya...but we have bonded." Eva smiled more. Shoto then kissed her cheek, he slowly pulled back. "I'm sorry." Eva blushed a lot causing flowers to pop up. "I know we both agreed till after."
"No," denied Eva. "Zeno advised me to be more open, so I don't end up with the regret of not doing something."
"So, that's what you two were talking about," said Shoto, he had missed hearing her speak in other languages.
"Parts of it," said Eva turning red. "He did tell me to indulge in kissing." Shoto cupped her face, crashing his lips down on hers in a less a heartbeat. Eva was very taken back, hand going to his face. This kiss was greater feeling that Shigaraki and Toya combined. "I want to know how you are feeling, you must have so much on your mind. I am worried about you, Shoto." Shoto looked away with tears forming in his eyes, Eva put her pen down to wipe them away, and they engulfed each other in a hug, Eva thought back to what Python told her earlier and then hugged Shoto tighter. They stayed up a bit longer, Shoto talked to her about what was on his mind, and they both ended up falling asleep on the couch. She was the first to wake out of the two, she woke up to sensing Iida and Hagakure were coming down. She got up and then went back to what she writing down at one of the tables.
"Morning Eva," said Iida as he sat at the table with her,
"Morning you two," said Eva as Hagakure sat at the table. "Sorry for disappearing yesterday, I thought it would be a quick trip to my home realm."
"That's alright," said Iida as he looked at the paper. There was a silence.
"I'm worried about Aoyama," said Hagakure, the other two nodded in agreement. In no time, everyone was leaving to go on a search again, Eva sat on the steps watching everyone go off.
"Eva," said Shoto sitting next to her, she looked at him. "I thought about a lot of things you said." She nodded. "I don't want to end up regretting anything either." He kissed her again, and Eva kissed back. He stood up. "See you later." He ran off to join the others. Eva touched her lips as she watched him, she then smiled. If Shoto was pushing to reconnect, then she would be putting in the same effort.

Another night had come, Eva was arriving at the dorms at the same time as her classmates, and other fae. She was equally as tired as them. Kaminari dropped to his knees out of exhaustion.
"Someone," groaned Kaminari with his face on the ground. "Carry me." Izumi stopped and lifted Kaminari putting him on his shoulder.
"There's still so much ground we've gotta cover," said Kirishima stretching.
"I feel we should start where All Might found Eva," said Didi. "The scent may be weak, but we need to try."
"We can try that tomorrow," said Yuri. "We have much to go over what we had gathered today."
"And with fewer heroes available, we have to pick up the slack," said Ojiro staring at Kaminari.
"I'm beat," said Sato with hands on his hips.
"We should go to bed promptly," said Iida walking up. He moved the top part of his helmet. "Our youthful resilience is our strength, so we must ensure we're taking care of our minds and our bodies."
"I don't think a nap's the same thing as training," grunted Katsuki as he walked past Iida.
"Your class president is right," said Yuri staring out one of the windows. "The nap may be short, but your body needs it."
Iida looked at Bakugo with a thumbs up. "And brush your teeth. Dental hygiene is no joke!"
Mineta ran over to Izuku. "We don't even have enough time to trade dirty stories!
"Uh, yeah, I guess not," said Izuku. "I do agree we don't have enough downtime." He turned to look at Urakaka chatting with Ashido.
"Mm, I'm gonna take the world's hottest bath," said Ashido rubbing her shoulder, her antenna's twitching.
"Sounds nice," smiled Urakaka.
"Eva," said Didi grabbing onto her." Can I have some of that honey you have in your fridge? Find some milk."
"Yeah," nodded Eva. "I'll be sure to get it to the others as well." Izuku started to go over to Urakaka when All Might flung both doors open, throwing Kaminari and Izumi across the room.
"I am here again!" shouted All Might pumping a fist. "Entering in a totally chill way!"
"What's up?" asked Jiro. "You sound energetic."
"Hm," sounded Yuri in agreement looking over. They saw Tsukacuhi had come with Prinicpal Nezu on his shoulder. They saw that Great Pa Go had tagged along as well.
"Is it that obvious?" asked All Might looking at her.
"He's been practicing his opening lines the whole way here," said Great Pa Go with a slight smile. "I found it rather amusing."
"Detective Tsukauchi? And the principal, too?" asked Sato as he took off his gloves.
"Mr. Yakumi as well," added Tokoyami.
"Have you come with news about Aoyama?" asked Yayorozu, the mood in the room shifted. Tsukauchi held up a finger.
"I need you all to listen closely," urged All Might holding up his hands. "For now, we're only telling select people what I'm about to share. It's time we discuss the future of our world."
"This will affect ours too," said Great Pa Go focusing on the fae in the room. "So, pay attention, I'll quiz you later to ensure you were."
"Sir," the fae all responded.
All Might nodded. "The final battle plan." He walked in with slippers on his feet. "Let's be realistic. Every pro hero and fae we have helping us is scouring the country in an attempt to find All For One. But to be honest, we're not expecting them to succeed."
"That's exactly what Bakugo's been saying this whole time," noted Kaminari.
"Yeah, but it hits different when you hear it from All Might," pouted Sato.
"Does that mean we're giving up?" asked Mineta.
"The opposite," said Tsukauchi.
"It is essential that they don't succeed in finding him," said Great Pa Go. "Including the ones able to fly under the radar."
"It's essential to fail," said Sero. "Never heard it like that before." He looked at Yuri who was comfortable with what was said.
"Here's where Eraser's plan comes in," said Tsukauchi.
All Might raised his arms. "If you want to lure out someone who is both cunning and cowardly you must massage reality and make them believe they're in control."
"So we pretend we're desperate because the walking nutsack is too smart for us," concluded Katsuki lowering his collar. "Stroke his ego."
"Do you have to put it like that?" asked Sero grossed out.
Great Pa Go help up his finger. "The art of deception is essential for tricky opponents such as the walking nutsack. I make sure the ones I train are fluent in tricky even though it comes naturally to us."
"We'll proceed on the assumption that he's still using Search," continued Tsukauchi. "He's got his eyes on us, besides the fae. It's probably safe to say your every move has been noted lately. That's good. If he's watched us since Midoriya came back, he'll believe we're frantic and exhausted. The goal is to have him think we're making a series of bad moves one after the other. That he has got us bested. He won't see Eraser's plan coming. We'll use his own informant, Aoyama, to lure him out into the open on our terms. We're currently working on the logistics." Everyone gasped and smiles formed on their faces.
"So, Aoyama's helping us?" asked Izuku with tears in his eyes. All Might nodded. All the students cheered.
"I'm so glad!" cried Hagakure grabbing onto Urakaka and the Tsu.
"He saw the light!" cried Ashido.
"Excuse me, sir," said Yaoyorozu, she stepped forward putting a hand on her chest. "How will we go about deceiving him? Aoyama's father was scared. If it's true that All For One is able to tell when someone's lying, won't we be putting Aoyama and his family at great risk by trying this?"
"We've planned for that, too," nodded All Might. "According to the Aoyamas, every time All For One contact them, it's over the phone. Calls only. So there's never written information. Given the number of informants in his network, he must have an instant way of knowing if they're being honest with him. We're pretty sure he has a way of detecting a lie through their voice immediately. Therefore, if there is no lie in the audio he hears, he'll believe he can show up without fear. That's why we'll go with Aizawa's idea and use his power." Everyone gasped as All Might turned to the door excitedly. "Come on in!" The door opened, and everyone grew happy to see Shinso stepping through. He was in his hero suit with a scarf like Aizawas.
"Hey," greeted Shinso throwing up a hand.
"Shinso!" cheered Mineta.
"Your costume looks awesome!" complimented Kirishima.
"I'm kinda confused about how Shinso's Quirk is supposed to be utilized for this plan," admitted Tsu with a finger to her face. "I was on his team for combat training. You said your powers came with limitations."
"A lot's changed since then," said Shinso putting a hand on the back of his head. "I thought I'd be transferring into the hero course in April and competing against you guys as your classmate. But I guess we have more important issues than my transfer at the moment, Still, I've been training hard to develop my Quirk."
"You've improved your power?" asked Tsu. "So this trick will work?"
"It should," said Shinso grabbing his scarf. "Like this. I'll use Brainwashing to make Aoyama and his parents talk. They'll say what I want them to, but my intentions will stay hidden from the enemy."
"That's incredible!" said the students.
"It won't be easy, though," admitted Shinso in slight annoyance. "Using my Quirk this way is difficult."
"You've got this!" assured Kirishima, Eva nodded in agreement. Mineta raised a fist happily.
"We really owe you one, dude!" added Kaminari.
"Do you wanna be in Class A or Class B?" asked Koda.
"obviously A!" chirped in Sato.
"What's your hero name?" asked Ojiro wagging his tail.
"Shinso was able to amp up his power thanks to intense extracurricular instruction from Aizawa, and these past few days from Mr. Yakumi," explained Principal Nezu.
"Amazing!" cheered the students. "Mr. Aizawa really is the coolest!
Nezu pointed at them with a wink. "And before you ask, Shinso does not have his provisional license yet. But since this an emergency, the Heroes Public Safety Commission said they would make an exception for him. "
"Whoa!" breathed everyone.
"That's great," said Tokoyami raising his hand. "But you haven't addressed what comes next. We're supposed to lure out the villains and capture them en masse. How do we do that? Our numbers are dwindling. And it would be suspicious if we gathered in one place. Why would our enemies come?"
"No worries," said All Might putting up a finger. "The heroes won't be there."
"For this to work, we'll need the help of another individual," added Tsukauchi.

The day had come, the hero students, fae, and others stood at the barrier ready to leave.
"Attention all evacuees currently sheltering on UA's campus," began Principal Nezu. "The heroes and police have combined forces in their investigations. What they've found is that Tomura Shigaraki of the League of Villains, the man who single-handedly caused unprecedented disaster, will be active again in four days. As such, UA will enter under martial law at that time as we do our best to ensure the safety of everyone here. Rest assured that all defensive measures will be increased to maximum levels. When the evacuation system kicks in, you will no longer be able to freely walk about the campus. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we thank you for your understanding. We will preserve."
"Everyone!" began Iida.
"We're all grateful for all your support!" Everyone said at the same time, Iida, Izuku, and Eva bowed respectively.
"Wait!" called out Kota. "You're leaving, Mr. Deku?"
"Yes," confirmed Izuku. "I got some rest and cleaned myself up. Now it's time for me to continue the fight."
"Your safety is our chief concern, so keep your eyes peeled," instructed Snipe. "Don't forget. The evacuation system could activate at any time. You have to be prepared for anything." Everyone took the time to say goodbye to their loved ones and friends. Eva and her siblings were saying bye to their dad.
"Look at all of you," said Sora looking among his children. "Your mom would be just as proud as I am. Do your best out there and look out for the others." They all nodded before being pulled into a hug.
Eva then took the time to say bye to Eri and Kota with Izuku.
After leaving, they were moved to a makeshift headquarters located 30 kilometers from the school. A newly built fortress called 'Troy.'
"Thanks to Cementoss, Power Loader, and Ectoplasm, we were able to get this puppy functional pretty quick," said Snipe as they all stared at the building. "It's nowhere near as strong as UA, but it'll do. Why don't you take your bags inside and find your rooms?" He looked at the fae. "We put all of you in the same one."
"We are fine with that," said Izumi.
"This was definitely inspired by our dorms!" chimed Hagakure.
"Wow. Yeah," breathed Jiro.
"Nice of them to build a fancy coffin for us," said Sero.
"Dude," breathed Sato looking at him.
Monty smiled. "Eva was right, humans are quite funny." Eva with Kirishima, Iida, and Katsuki watched Shoto walk away silently. They all went inside, Eva and the other fae did not bring much, a spare change of clothes and the tapestry. Their room was hammock bunk beds, two on one side, three on the other. Eva went and paid Shoto a visit with Kirishima, Iida, and Katsuki. She sat on the end of the bed next to Katsuki.
"I'm sorry if I made you guys worry," apologized Shoto. "I'm fine now."
"I have an older brother, too, you know," said Iida. "Yuki has three older brothers."
"Sure, but I don't think we can compare families," said Shoto with a small smile, there was a little humor in his voice.
"How are you feeling?" asked Eva.
"It's strange," answered Shoto. "I have no idea what kind of stuff Toya likes besides playing Rummy."
"Definitely udon," stated Katsuki, he was lying back with his head on his hands. "The kind that burns your mouth."
Shoto laughed putting his head forward. "In that case." He looked at them with a smile. " Maybe I'll have to eat some with him."
"Do you know Yuki?" asked Kirishima.
"No," apologized Eva. "Not entirely food-wise. He likes to smoke and coffee."
"I'll take him up on coffee as well," said Shoto.
After being in that room for a bit, Eva went back over to where the fae were staying. They all sat around in a corner discussing where they would be placed. Eva was going to Gunga villa with Monty. Dios was heading to Kamino ward with Mai, a woman from the village. Izumi was heading to UA High Fortress with Lord Corpse. Aunt Addie was heading to Okuto Island with Shang a person from the village. Aunt Reina was helping keep an eye on Aoyama with Mel another from the village. Didi and Kozu were heading to Jaku hospital ruins. Grandpa Duckie and Gino was heading to Takoba National Stadium. Finally, Yuri and Great Pa Go went to central hospital.
"Isn't this plan similar to their first big attack from a year ago?" asked Yuri. "When they came to USJ?"
Eva nodded. "The final fight will start in the same manner they started." She looked down. 'That does not feel like a year ago.'
