Chapter 12
Eva and Awase peacefully made their way up to the stands.
"So you can weld anything?" Eva asked.
"Organic and inorganic," Awase answered. "I am capable of melding myself with objects or other people. I can reverse it. Though it won't work if I don't make contact with more than one object."
"That is so cool," Eva complimented.
"If you team up with Iida ever, you'll be breaking sound," Awase laughed.
"I mentioned that to him earlier," Eva smiled lightly.
"May I ask you something?" Awase asked right before the area of their seats, they stopped walking. "Why do you like that asshole Bakugo so much?"
"He's a good guy, honestly," Eva said. "He's the only reason I applied to this school in the first place." Awase seemed surprised. "He's a lot kinder than you think."
"I don't believe you," Awase said. "His pride---."
"He does need to work on that," Eva admitted. "But come to it...I trust him with my whole life, I'd put my life on the line for him. He is my greatest friend."
"But this is Bakugo," Awase said.
"We grew up together, Midoriya as well," Eva began. "When I was nine, fireworks were going on, but I couldn't go due to being sick...so Katsuki brought them to me."
"That's surprising," Awase admitted. "We should find our seats before the next match starts."
"Right," Eva nodded. They went down to their sections, Eva looked over to see Izuku, Iida, and Urakaka giving her thumbs up.
"Well done," Iida complimented. "Your speed..."
"Good job on shutting those 1-B losers up!" Bakugo laughed. "They'll think twice before messing up us again!" He held up his hand, she happily high-fived him.
"Thanks, Katsuki," Eva smiled as she made her way down to her seat. The moment she sat down, Izuku showed her his notebook, with the new notes he made on her page.
"Time to welcome new competitors!" Present Mic shouted. "Even beautiful flowers have thorns. It's the assassin from Class 1-B. Ibara Shizoaki from the hero course! Versus the boy with an electric personality! Another hero in the making, Denki Kaminari!" Eva pushed the notebook down so she could get a look at the match about to happen. "Keep those eyes peeled. I wanna see a super flashy battle this time!"
"Excuse me!" Shiozaki cut him off. "Please pardon the interruption. I'm not sure why you called me an assassin. I've come to the festival in search of victory, not to take my opponent's life. That wouldn't be in line with the values of a hero at all, sir."
"Right, I'm sorry," Present Mic apologized.
"Gentlemen, I didn't enter UA for wicked or selfish reasons, but to deliver salvation to others!" Shiozaki explained. "It is my humble quest to spread true good across this world."
"Listen, I said I was sorry!" Present Mic shouted. "That was my bad, okay?"
"I thank you for your kind understanding," Shiozaki smiled. She bowed a bit.
"I thought everyone in Class 1-B was a jerk," Kaminari admitted. Shiozaki made her way to her side of the battlefield.
"So, anyway, begin!" Present Mic exclaimed.
"What do ya say me and you go out after this?" Kaminari asked. "I'd be happy to treat you to a bite. And comfort you after your loss. 'Cause this is all gonna be over in two seconds, honey." Kaminari lit up in lightning. "Indiscriminate Shock. One point three million volts!" He sent a shock to her, Shiozaki turned around, and her hair created a shield, sprung up through the ground, and captured Kaminari.
"He's immobilized! That's all, folk!" Present Mic shouted. "It was over in an instant."
"The winner is Shiozaki!" Midnight shouted. "She advances on!"
The crowd cheered. "I am just so thankful that I was able to make the most of the opportunity I was given today," Shiozaki said.
"Oh, yeah!" Tetseutesu shouted. "Way to represent Class 1-B!"
"Man, she's good," Jiro commented.
"Guess he was right," Monoma said appearing over the wall next to him. "That match really was over in just two seconds. I wonder if his real Quirk is the ability to tell the future? Hey, Wasn't Class 1-A supposed to be so much better than us?" He started laughing, then stopped before falling behind the wall.
"Sorry about him," Kendo apologized as her face appeared over the wall.
'I hate that guy,' Yaoyorozu, Jiro, Mina, Tsu, and Eva all thought at the same time. The heroes in the crowd started to comment.
"As soon as she detached her vines, it was over. No way was he going to avoid those."
"Yeah, and his electric current couldn't travel through them, so he couldn't hurt her.
"Excellent offense and defense."
"That binding hold was really impressive. Smart girl."
"Kaminari never stood a chance against her."
"It's tough when someone's quirk cancels yours out, but he still could have put up a fight," a robot said as they carried Kaminari.
"I've seen Kaminari in action--he's super strong," Izuku said, Eva looked over to see that he was diving into his notebook, taking notes and muttering. Eva put her wing between them, so his mutter bounced off, what she didn't know is that they ended up hitting Ojiro and Bakugo. "But Shiozaki placed fourth in the entrance exam. And those vines. I wonder if she's studied Kamui Wood's moves. Binding attacks can be really powerful. I hardly ever seen anyone break out when they're used. It would be impossible to get close to her while avoiding all those thorns and vines. You'd have to find some way to tear them off or just hack your way through using brute force. Oh, but in order to keep you from doing that, she'd probably go after your hands first, so then what do you do?"
"Maybe you should take a sec to relax before planning too many matches ahead," Urakaka suggested.
Izuku yelped. "Oh, sorry!" He turned to her. "Sometimes I don't realize I'm talking out loud when I'm taking notes. It's not every day I get to see incredible Quirks from people outside our class." Ochaho chuckled. "Uh, actually. I've been taking notes on everybody in our class, too!" He showed her a page. "Here's what I've got on your Zero Gravity!"
"Uh---" Urakaka froze. She then laughed. "You know Deku. I've always known that you're amazing. You've got so much drive and focus in you. And the sports festivals reminding me of that."
"Uh?" Izuku gasped.
"Let's keep pumpin' out these hits and move on!" Present Mic shouted. "Time for the fifth match! Get ready to watch two new players duke it out!" The crowd cheered. "He's the kid with engines in his legs. Tenya Iida from the hero course! Versus...a fully-equipped gadget dynamo. The support course's Mei Hatsume!"
"So it's hero class versus support," Jiro noted.
"I have no idea what this fight will look like," Tsu admitted.
"Uh, what's up with Iida?" Sato asked. They saw that he was wearing a ton of gear, he buckled something around his waist. "Where the heck did he get all that gear from?"
"Hero course students can't use support gear unless they have to," Midnight scolded Iida. "And you didn't fill out any of the proper paperwork for that.
"I didn't know the rule!" Iida defended himself. "Aoyama got to wear his belt, so I thought it was fine."
"He turned in the proper forms," Midnight informed.
"I apologize, ma'am," Iida bowed. "It's just that, my heart was moved by my opponent's sportsmanship. Even though she's from the support course, she wanted this to be as even a match as possible since she made it this far. To have a fair fight! So, she offered to give me this equipment." He clenched his fists. "I respect her integrity! That's why, to honor her, I would like to wear this gear!"
"Such youthful vigor!" Midnight gleamed her cheeks were red. She giggled in joy, before regaining her composure. "I'll allow it!"
"Really?" Present Mic asked.
"I guess if everyone's okay in agreement, then it's okay," Aizawa said. "Right?"
"Well, if everyone's on the same page, let's begin the fourth match!" Present Mic exclaimed. Iida immediately ran towards Hatsume.
"Bet you like how fast that gear makes you!" Hatsume smiled. "Huh, Iida?" She had a mic on her.
"This sounds like the beginning of a commercial," Eva noted.
"Huh?" Izuku asked.
"She's got a mic?" Iida asked.
"Hey, now," Present Mic grunted.
"Is she wearing speakers?" Aizawa asked.
"Don't your legs feel lighter than usual?" Hatsume asked. "That's to be expected. I designed those leg parts specifically to increase the wearer's speed and mobility. "But of course." Hatsume shot up from the rods on her backpack, making Iida almost trip over it. "I can easily evade you with my hydraulic attachments!" She kept evading Iida easily. "Since I've got sensors in every direction, it's impossible for an opponent to sneak up on me!" Iida yelped as the thing on his back spat out air.
"What the heck is going on!?" Iida demanded.
"Look at how adeptly Iida just changed his course!" Hatsume chimed. "It's all thanks to the ingenious auto-balancer I created."
"This weird," Present Mic commented.
"She's turning the festival into one big commercial," Aizawa commented.
"There's absolutely no lag time!" Hatsume continued. Iida growled angrily. "The auto-balancer is equipped with a custom 32-axis gyro sensor!" Iida spun in circles around the line. "As you can see, it can keep the user from falling unless they actually want to." Iida got away from the line.
"I thought you said this was going to be a fair fight!" Iida roared as he rushed towards her. With her boots, Hastume shot into the air, Iida let out a yell as she cackled. "That's right, I'm practically flying through the air! These electric shoes use electromagnetic induction on both feet. They're perfect for evasive maneuvers or just keeping things light!"
"As soon as she lands, I'll stop her!" Iida declared as he lit up his engines. Once Hastume landed, she shot a pink net at Iida, trapping him. "Huh? What's this?"
"A captured gun to use against villains!" Hatsume answered. "The nets are loaded into small cartridges. You can fire up to five before having to reload! And all of these items were developed by yours truly--Mei Hatsume, support course prodigy! So, to any support companies out there looking for strong new recruits, the choice is clear. You want me! Again, I'm Mei Hatsume, that's H-A-T-S-U-M-E. And now, let me introduce you to a few more of my babies."
"Izuku," Eva breathed, and he looked at her. "Can I take a look at your page on Shiozaki? I have a feeling this going to take a while."
"That's right, she's your next opponent," Izuku stated, as he flipped to the page. "I updated your page."
"Thanks," Eva smiled as she took the book from him. 'Shiozaki has a nature-related quirk, as a fairy, I am to respect nature...but I also want to advance.'
"Do you think you'll be able to get close to her?" Izuku asked.
"Getting close to her isn't the issue," Eva said. "Evading her vines is...there's a good chance her quirk can cancel out mine, just like she did with Kaminari."
"You are able to fly fast," Urakaka brought up.
"I'm not good at maneuvering at that speed yet," Eva admitted as she tilted her head. "I'll just end up out of bounds by my own calculations."
"Now, that you mention it, you did avoid going through buildings on the way to school today," Izuku recalled.
"Not every move needs to be done at top speed," Tokoymani said. "If so, it can give an opponent ideas on how to counter."
"Wise words," Eva commented. About eight minutes later, Hatsume was down shoving off her babies, and stepped out of bounds.
"Whew! That was fun, but I think now I've shown off everything I wanted to," Hatsume smiled as the sun shined on her. "I supposed it's time for me to wrap this show-up.
"Uh, Hatsume stepped out of bounds, so Iida advances to the next round," Midnight declared.
"I can't believe I let you trick me!" Iida raged.
"Sorry about that," Hatsume said half-heartedly as he made her way off the stage. "I needed to use you to make a name for myself."
"I looked like a fool!" Iida shouted as he chopped at the air.
"Iida's so sincere, he trusted her motives," said Izuku. Iida shook a bit. "She probably made it sound like she was doing him a favor. She's so driven. Straightforward about her goals." He was jotting down in his notebook. "From what I can sell, she'll do whatever it takes to reach them." Eva noticed Urakaka get up to get ready for her battle, she was not her usual cheery self. Eva couldn't blame her, she was going up against Bakugo. "Amazing." Eva looked back to see Bakugo was gone as well.
"We're gonna charge right on along to the sixth match," Present Mic announced. "Let's hope that gaudy belt serves some kinda purpose. It's Yuga Aoyama from the hero course!"
"Bonjour," Aoyama greeted.
"Versus...is there some kind of purpose for those things sticking out of her head?" Present Mic asked. "From the same class, Mina Ashido!"
"This match is gonna be a piece a' cake," Ashido giggled.
"I do believe you're going to be eating those words, mademoiselle," Aoyama glimmered.
"Come on, Mina, you can do it!" Tsu encouraged.
"Don't show her any mercy, Aoyama!" Mineta shouted. They looked back at him. "Fight like you're in one of those video games where everyone's clothes get beaten off!
"You pervert!" Jiro grunted at him, they looked back at the match.
"A match between Aoyama and Ashido," Izuku muttered as he flipped through his notebook. "Let's see. Considering what their powers are, Aoyama will probably keep his distance and try to attack with his laser from far away. So it'll all depend on whether or not Ashido can dodge his attacks manages to use her power against him in close combat. Problem is, there's nothing much for her to use as a cover in this ring. So she's at a slight disadvantage."
"Now let's get started!" Present Mic exclaimed. "Fifth match...Begin!
"Navel laster, activate!" Aoyama shouted, his navel laser shot out.
"Think again!" Mina shouted as she jumped over it. She slid around the ring on her acid. "We were on the same team for combat training, so I know all about your Quirk, Aoyama."
"I can say the same thing about you," Aoyama said as he shot out more of his Quirk.
"Sure, but there's a big difference," Ashido responded. "I remember something you said. I know your weakness!" She continued to dodge his attacks.
"Here's a big one!" Aoyama shouted, and Mina easily avoided it. "Ow. My tummy." Aoyama was trembling.
"There's my shot!" Ashido shouted as she threw acid at him. It got on his pants and belt.
"Oh, no!" Aoyama panicked. "Oh, no, no, no! Not my precious belt!" His pants fell off, and Izuku put his hand over Eva's eyes.
"For my finishing move..." Ashido said as she got right up to Aoyama. "An uppercut!" Aoyama fell backward.
"Aoyama has fainted!" Midnight announced. "The winner of this match is Ashido!"
"Dang, Aoyama went down hard!" Present Mic shouted as the crowd cheered. "That's an indisputable victory if I've ever seen one, sports fans!" Mina was happily smiling, throwing up peace signs.
"Wow, Mina is amazing!" Tsu complimented. There was a thud, Eva and a couple of others looked at trembling Mineta.
"I got to see panties, but why were they his?" Mineta asked.
"Oh, for crying out loud," Jiro groaned. Eva looked over to see Izuku scribbling hard into his notebook, she peeked over as Ojiro did the same.
"Now, let's not let this hot streak cool," Present Mic said. "Time to move on to the seventh match! Offense and defense in one! The dark samurai and his darker shadow! From the hero course, Fumikage Tokoyami! Versus...The great creator! She was admitted because of recommendations and I think we can all see why. Also from Class 1-A, Momo Yaoyorozu!"
"How do you think one will end?" Ojiro asked as he ran his hands over the top of Eva's wings, almost like petting it. "Any clue?" Eva looked back, she thought it was odd, but let it be since people tend to pet his tail.
"Timing is going to be the key thing here," Izuku answered.
"Oh? How so?" Ojiro asked.
"Sixth match...Begin!" Present Mic shouted.
"Go, Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami shouted.
"I got her!" Dark Shadow exclaimed as he rushed out of Tokoyami. Yaoyorozu quickly formed a shield, Dark Shadow slammed into it.
"Now it's my turn to attack," Yaoyorozu said as she began to create an item. Dark Shadow slammed into her before she could. He slammed into her again, making her lose her shield. Yaoyorozu formed another as she let out a few yelps." Dark Shadow stopped attacking Yaoyorozu made a pole.
"Yaoyorozu!" Midnight shouted. "You're out!" The girl gasped, she looked down to see one foot completely out of bounds. "This match goes to Tokoyami!" The crowd cheered Tokoyami bowed as Yaoyorozu stood dumbfounded.
"Yikes!" Present Mic yelped. "Another fast, overwhelming victory! Is it possible that Tokoyami's Dark Shadow is the greatest Quirk ever? I think so!"
"I lost..." Yaoyorozi breathed. "I didn't even...do anything."
"Tokoyami is way too powerful," Izuku sweated. "I can't believe he forced her out of bounds by focusing his attacks on her shield. He obviously had a strategy worked out."
"Yeah, I guess so," Ojiro agreed.
'"Tokoyami is kind," Eva said. "There's probably a reason behind focusing on the shield."
"Maybe he didn't wanna hurt her," Ojiro suspected. "I bet she's really upset about how that went down. I feel bad for her."
"Eva," Izuku breathed. "Where's Urakaka?" He was staring at the water, Urakaka left behind.
"She went to the waiting room," Eva answered. "Probably to come up with a plan in silence...she is going up against Katsuki."
"Okay, let's see who we've got for ya next," Present Mic said. "The eighth matchup includes two completely redundant Quirks! One of them's a passionate manly fighter made of steel. The hero course's Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu!"
"Bring it!" Tetsutetsu raged.
"Versus...a passionate, manly fighter made of rock! The hero course's Eijiro Kirishima!" Present Mic announced.
"Seriously, even our intros are the same?" Kirishima teared up.
"Make us proud, Tetsutetsu! Win just like Ibara did!" Kendo shouted.
"Look alive, shorty," Jiro ordered as she jabbed one of her earplugs into Mineta, he was asleep.
"Can't wait to see how this one ends!" Present Mic shouted."Begin!" Tetsutetsu ran towards Kirishima, he was steel and yelling. Kirishima hardened himself, and ran forward, yelling as well. The fight was going to go on for a bit, Eva went up to the top of the stairs.
"Eva!" Izuku exclaimed following her. She let him catch up, the two made their way down the hall.
"I'm checking on Katsuki," Eva said. "You go check on Urakaka...knowing Katsuki...he won't hold back."
"I figured as much," Izuku nodded. "I'm going to try to help Urakaka with a strategy." He held up his notebook.
"I'm going to try to convince Bakugo not to kill her all while not holding back," Eva said.
"Good luck," the two wished each other, and they went to the designated rooms.
"Katsuki," Eva said opening the door.
"Get out," Katsuki said, his back was turned, and he was stretching. "I'm not holding back."
"I know," Eva said as she closed the door, she went and sat on the table. He turned to her, all while stretching. "Just don't kill her."
"Instead of worrying about what I am going to do, you should be strategizing for your next match," Bakugo advised. "What do you have in plan?"
"It's a bit of a knot," Eva admitted. Bakugo furrowed his eyebrows. "I know you aren't going to hold back on Urakaka....and by chance, we face each other you can't hold back on me either."
"Huh?" Bakugo asked.
"You've been treating me like that weak eight-year-old that got her wings ripped out," Eva said as she looked up. "I know you are just being protective."
"Eva," Bakugo grunted standing up.
"Just give it all you got if we face each other," Eva pleaded. "I am stronger now, but I won't know for sure unless you take our fight seriously...I know you went a bit easy on me in the race...Promise, you won't do that if we fight...I can handle it." She held out her hand, he stared at her.
" I'll destroy you like I've done with all these other losers," Bakugo smirked as he grabbed her hand. "You can't let personal feelings get in the way either." Eva nodded. "As much as I hate that jerkwad, you should ask Deku for help with the Vine girl."
"Good luck, Katsuki" Eva wished before leaving the room. She saw Izuku already back in the stands, Iida was there as well, and on the field were Urakaka and Bakugo.
"Yuki!" Yaoyorozu exclaimed, the girl was looking at Eva. "Down here!" She quickly made her way down, sitting between Iida and Yaoyorozu. The line of people in her wingspan, happily let her put her wings on them.
"The 9th and final battle of the first round of matches!" Present Mic cheered. "He was kind of a hotshot in middle school, and just look at that determined face! From the hero course, Katsuki Bakugo! Versus...The one I'm personally rooting for, also from Class 1-A, Ochaco Urakaka!" The crowd cheered, and everyone in Class 1-A was a bit nervous about how this match was going to go. "Let the ninth match...begin!"
"You're the one, that screws around with gravity. Right, Pink Cheeks?" Bakugo asked.
"Pink Cheeks?" Urakaka repeated.
"Well, if you're gonna give up, do it now," Bakugo advised. " 'Cause I'm not going to hold anything back."
"Midoriya?" Iida asked. "I'm curious. What was that strategy you came up with that would give Urakaka an advantage against Bakugo?"
"Honestly, it wasn't really much of a plan," Izuku admitted as he looked at his notebook. "Kacchan's so strong. When it comes to close combat, he almost never has any openings. And the more he moves the more he sweats, which just makes his Quirk more powerful. He's gotten really good at using his explosions to move around in the air. But, if Urakaka is able to touch him, she can use her Quirk to make him float. She could send him out of bounds. That's why it's obvious what Urakaka needs to do to get the upper hand."
"Let the ninth match begin!" Present Mic shouted.
"Strike first!" Izuku exclaimed as Urakaka took off towards Bakugo.
"Giving up isn't an option for me!" Urakaka exclaimed.
"Wow, look at her go!" Eva complimented.
"That's a good start," Izuku added. "And all she has to do is touch him one time."
"But it won't be easy," Iida said. "You know Bakugo's not gonna let her get too close to him."
"Which is why he won't dodge," Izuku said. "He'll focus his energy on counterattacking."
"And now you die," Bakugo declared. Urakaka fell right for Bakugo, he blasted her.
"Urakaka!" Izuku, Iida, and Eva exclaimed. Jiro whimpered.
"He blasted her," Mineta said.
"Ugh, looks like Bakugo's not planning on showing her any mercy," Tsu noted.
"Stupid," Urakaka said. "Saw it coming and I still couldn't get out of the way."
"You shoulda dropped outta the match," Bakugo said. She appeared out of the smoke. "There's no way you can beat me!" He let off another explosion. He gasped to see it was only her jacket. She appeared behind him.
"Whoa!" Present Mic exclaimed. "She flew her jacket over as a decoy! What incredible thinking!" Bakugo threw his hand back, the explosion pushed Urakaka back.
"Look at that reaction time!" Sero exclaimed.
"Seriously, the dude's insane," Kaminari said. "You can't get the drop on him. And since Urakaka can't use her Quirk unless she touches him, his lightning-flash reflexes put her at a huge disadvantage!"
"Too slow!" Bakugo shouted as he made his way through the smoke. He blasted Urakaka more, there was a ton of debris Eva noticed that Urakaka was staying low to the ground.
"I've got you!" Urakaka shouted Bakugo blasted her again. Eva looked up to see debris high in the air.
"Is she okay?" Tsu asked.
"I can't watch this," Jiro cried hiding behind her hands. Bakugo continually blasted her.
"Like I always suspected," Mineta said. "Bakugo's a total sadist."
"This isn't over yet!" Urakaka shouted, followed by more explosions.
"I hope her plan goes well," Eva said looking back at the field. 'Knowing Katuski, he'll know how to counter it in seconds.'
"Looks like she's not resting between attacks despite being exploded. The poor girl."
"Her feint earlier didn't work, so now she's getting desperate," a guy said.
"You idiots, look closer," Monoma advised.
"Hey, shouldn't one of the teachers step in?" a hero asked.
"Yeah, this is too rough," another hero said.
"This is shameful," a hero said after another explosion. "Listen, kid, you really wanna be a hero? Then stop acting like a bully. If you're so good just send her out of bounds." There was another explosion. "Stop toying with the girl and end this match!"
"Yeah, you heard the guy!" another shouted. A bunch of heroes started to boo Bakugo.
"The crowd is now booing Bakugo!" Present Mic commented. "And honestly, I kinda agree with what they're sayin--" He got cut off. "Hey, whoa--What the crap?"
"Where is the man who started this uproar?" Aizawa demanded into the mic. "Are you a pro?" Everyone went silent. "Because if you're being serious, you can go home and hang up your cape. I'd suggest looking into another career."
"You know what he's talking about?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah," Eva breathed.
"Bakugo's fierceness is an acknowledgment of his opponent's strength," Aizawa said. "He knows she deserves to have made it this far, so he's making sure he does whatever it takes to keep her at bay and come out on top."
"I think it's about time," Urakaka said. "Thank you, Bakugo...for keeping your eyes focused on me!" She put her hands up.
"What?" Bakugo asked.
"I don't blame Bakugo for not noticing, but it's embarrassing for a pro to boo and not realize what's going on from the stands," Monoma commented. "She kept low to the ground as she moved, which meant Bakugo's blasts tore up the floor of the ring, creating weapons for her. And then she kept him focused on her by attacking relentlessly, without rest. Rendering him oblivious." Urakaka let out a yell, putting her fingertips together.
"A meteor shower!" Present Mic exclaimed as rocks fell from the sky.
"Now you notice," Aizawa said.
"Hey, she had a plan all along!" Izuku exclaimed as he got to his feet. Urakaka started to run forward as Bakugo put one hand in the air, putting his other hand around his wrist for support. Just as Urakaka was about to touch him, Bakugo out a huge explosion, taking out of the pieces Urakaka had fallen towards him. The crowd yelped Eva's wings once again were used as shields.
"I figured you'd have some sorta stupid plan to beat me," Bakugo said, Urakaka was on the ground. "You are friends with that damn nerd, after all."
"It took him one shot," Urakaka whimpered.
Present Mic gasped. "Bakugo bangs out a huge demonstration of power! He blasted apart Urakaka's finishing move and remains untouched!"
"That was close," Bakugo grunted, Eva saw that his hand was twitching a bit. Urakaka wobbly got to her feet.
"All right, then," Bakugo grunted. "Time for us to get serious! Urakaka!" He charged toward her, Urakaka turned around she ended up tripping on her leg, which caused Bakugo to stop. Everyone could see that Urakaka had reached her limit.
"Urakaka is down!" Present Mic shouted. She trembling badly Bakugo was staring at her.
"It's too much," Iida said.
"Yeah," Eva agreed.
"She's way past her limit," Izuku added.
Urakaka started to weakly crawl towards Bakugo. "I can do this. I can still fight." Bakugo got ready, just in case. "I can!...I'll become a hero." She then passed out. Midnight held out her hand, as she checked on Urakaka. Bakugo went at ease.
"Urakaka is K.O.'d," Midnight reported. "Bakugo advances to the second round!" The crowd cheered. Soon Urakaka was placed on the gurney, "Take her to Recovery Girl." Everyone saw Bakugo leave the field.
"And that's it for the first round!" Present Mic announced. "I was really pullin' for her. Oh, yeah, I guess Bakugo's moving on."
"You're supposed to be unbiased, you know," Aizawa scolded him.
"Let's try to forget that depressing outcome," Present Mic encouraged.
"Or not," Aizawa said.
"With that the first round is complete!" Present Mic announced. "We're taking a quick break! Then we're back with more matches!" The crowd cheered, Eva got up and flew down the hall till she found Bakugo.
"You did amazing," Eva complimented.
"Of course I did," Bakugo grunted. "That stupid plan of hers---Probably that damn nerd's plan."
"Whether it was her plan or not, I think it was a good one," Eva said. "You are just a tough opponent." Bakugo looked away. "Something's bothering you?"
"Leave it," Katsuki growled.
"It's about the crowd, isn't it?" Eva asked, he glared at her. "Ignore them, Mr. Aizawa was right, all you were doing was giving Urakaka a fair fight...you didn't go after her when she fell on the ground. It shows that you are actually a soft person."
"Eva," Katsuki growled; she lowered herself till they were at equal height.
"She did push you close to your limit," Eva added.
"Eva," Katsuki growled more, heat was coming off of him.
"Not only did you not kill Urakaka, but you also pushed her to become better," Eva added, he stopped growling. She then kissed his cheek. "You are a good guy, Katsuki."
"Eva," Katsuki grunted as he looked away, his cheeks were pink. "Go prepare for your fight."
"Will you be watching?" Eva asked.
"And taking notes on how to defeat you," Katsuki smirked holding out his arm, Eva happily dropped to the ground, grabbing hold.
"How is your wrist?" asked Eva. "You grabbed hold of it for the last big boom."
"As you said," said Katsuki. "Pink cheeks pushed me to my limits, made me how much harder I've got to work." He used his other hand to ruffle her hair. "Your speed has improved." He leaned his head down. "What do you mean by knot?"
"Uh," breathed Eva looking away. "I may or may not rely entirely on my quirk, it could be cheating."
Katsuki broke out in a smile. "Its called not holding back, Eva Gust." They chatted till they got to the stands. Eva went down to her seat in the front, while Katsuki stayed back.
"Hey, Bakugo!" Sero greeted. "Playin' the villain, huh? Musta been tough."
"Even if it was just because of who you were up against, you did make a pretty convincing bad guy," Tsu added.
"Shut up, you idiots. Or else!" Bakugo threatened.
"For real dude," Kaminari pointed at the empty seat next to him. "I don't know how you were able to aim a powerful blast at a frail girl like that. I couldn't help but hold back against Shiozaki."
"She completely overpowered you, Kaminari," Tsu corrected.
"Can't you just let me have this?" Kaminari pleaded.
"Hmph," Bakugo grunted as he sat down. "I definitely wouldn't call that girl frail." They were now watching an arm-wrestling match between Kirishima and Tetsutetsu.
"Wa-hoo!" Present Mic cheered. "We're finally about to learn who the true winner is from the eighth match! Kirishima or Tetsutestu!" Eva could see that the cement block Cementoss made was breaking on both sides. "Whoever prevails in this arm-wrestling match will advance to the second round! Let's go!" Tetsutetsu's hand broke, and Kirishima let out a yell, slamming his opponent's hand down.
"Kirishima is the winner! " Midnight announced. "Add him to the bracket."
"Yeah!" Kirishima yelled.
"Kirishima earns a spot in the second round!" Present Mic announced.
"Ah, damn my metal deficiency!" Tetsutetsu growled. "Shoulda eaten more iron this morning!"
Kirishima held out his hand. "Hey, man. You put up a good fight."
"Ha!" Tetsutetsu grunted, he looked away and then shook hands.
"Oh! So chivalrous!" Midnight gushed.
"Now we've got a slightly full roster for the next round of the tournament," Present Mic announced. "Let's get the party started now, ya dig? Since there is an uneven amount of competitors, one will be given the chance to compete twice! This decision will be between Ibara Shiozaki and Eva Yuki! Whoever loses will get a redemption shot with Tenya Iida! While the other will face Shoto Todoroki or Izuku Midoriya! Keep your eyes peeled, folks!" The crowd cheered even more. Up next were Izuku and Todoroki, she was going after them. facing Shiozaki. She was staring at the page, Izuku made for her opponent.
"So the match hasn't started yet?" Urakaka asked.
"Ura!" Iida yelped as they looked over at her. Her eyes were super red and puffy.
"Oh, good," Urakaka grunted.
"Something horrible's happened to your eyes!" Iida pointed out.
"You should go see Recovery Girl," Eva advised.
"I already did," Urakaka said as she went to a seat. Eva lifted her wings. "This is from...something else." She put her wings back down.
"Ah, of course!" Iida breathed. "If I were you, I'd be frustrated, too."
"It's not time to wallow," Tokoyami said. "Use this next fight as a source of encouragement."
"Will do," Urakaka nodded.
"You're so wise," Iida breathed. The battlefield corners blew fire.
"I can feel the anticipation in the stadium!" Present Mic exclaimed. "And that's because the second round's first match is gonna be epic!" They watched Todoroki and Izuku walk up to their spots. "It's the guy who won his last fight by a landslide and literally left half the audience frozen. The hero course's Shoto Todoroki! And he's the kid who almost walked out of his first matchup, but made a stunning comeback by showing off some impressive moves! Also from the hero course, Izuku Midoriya!"
"So here we are," Todoroki said as they stared each other down.
"And only one of us can win," Izuku said.
"Tokoyami, Eva, how do you think this match will go?" Iida asked.
"It depends on whether or not Midoriya is able to get close to him," Tokoyami answered.
"Yeah. That's the problem," Urakaka said. "How will Deku avoid the ice?"
"Yuki?" Ojiro asked. "What do you think?"
"This match is definitely going to be intense," Eva said. "But I'm not sure if it'll play out how everyone thinks it will...knowing Izuku." Eva thought back to all the times Izuku came to her rescue, even though he was quirkless at the time. "I hope he knows what he is doing."
"Both of the heroes-in-training have been frontrunners in the Sports Festival! Present Mic shouted. "But which of these will advance to the next round?" The two got into a fighting position. Prepare for...Midoriya versus Todoroki!"
