Chapter 62

If You could turn back time, you would be someone you are not. If You could turn back time, you would change so many things that you wouldn't even recognize yourself. Yet if you were to do all that would you be satisfied truly with the outcome? Would erasing yourself end up, in you being happier?

Those thoughts swirled around in your mind as you stood in your living room, having picked up the book your sister once liked and Jimin was reading. A book you didn't particularly like but the main character had just spoken of his desire to turn back time and the female lead had straight out told him that she would not want someone that isn't him. A simple scene yet it got your mind diving deep, forgetting the book altogether along with the fact that you were waiting for the doorbell to go off.

After managing to place the unconscious Jimin on your bed, you had called Jin and informed him of the occurrence and despite the fact that he was supposed to come later on with DongMin, he claimed that he will get to you right away. A statement that had sure made you feel a bit more relieved for having made someone unconscious on your own, did not feel that great.

It left you with a sense of guilt even though it was for his good. It made you feel like you had harmed him and had mingled with his right to live despite the fact that you were supposed to mingle and be an obstacle when he was to not be himself. The right thing and the wrong thing was never easy to distinguish yet when it comes to Jimin's case, he sure makes it even more difficult.

Would he change anything if he could turn back time?

You wondered as you stepped up from your seat and walked to your bedroom to check on him. He was laying at the same position that you had left him as if he had never even moved an inch and that view made you lean a bit more towards him, just to check if he was really breathing as he thankfully was.

"Would I be considered nosy if I was to admit that from all the secrets that have found me till today, the one I am most curious to know is the reason that you are as messed up as you are?"You mumbled to him despite the fact that you knew well that he won't hear you but it was a wonder that you also had no business in ever asking him about so might as well say it, now that he wouldn't be able to hear it.

"Yet again you might have been born like this. No matter how far you were to travel to the past, maybe this would be inevitable anyway." You reached your hand out and moved a strand of his hair as you spoke those words and then quickly retrieved your hand as the doorbell sound startled you and made you step away from him out of reflex.

It didn't take long however for you to get yourself together and go open the door to none other than the one you were expecting to arrive. Jin looked worried as you let him in and without even a proper greeting, he found himself inside your bedroom, checking on his cousin as if he was some kind of doctor. You followed him and stood quite by the door frame, understanding his behaviour well enough but as soon as he got reassured that Jimin was fine, he turned your way and spoke thankful words which honestly you weren't expecting.

"Ah no need to thank me. I just-"

"No. I know this is not easy. Of course, I should be thankful as well as sorry to you. I apologize. You had to get through this alone."He bowed his head and spoke rather seriously making you lower your head too, as a sign of respect while you accepted his feeling as they were, without trying again to make the situation seem lighter than it was.

"Please tell me more about the situation. Which character did he take on?" Jin questioned you and you offered him to follow you to the living room where you both sat down on the couch and you explained in detail what had happened previously. What had started scaring you however was that the more you explained the more worried he had started looking.

"And you gave him a big dose of the inulins I gave you?"

"...Yeah..." You replied hesitantly and he just left his hand to rub his face as a deep sigh escaped his lips, leaving you in absolute dread for you were thinking that you had done something wrong.

"Your silence is seriously not helping me relax, you know?" You deadpanned as he instead of saying anything more took his phone and started texting things you couldn't see.

"Ah, I am sorry...it's just...how do I explain this...you were lucky that it was that Jimin and not..."

"That sense doesn't help either. Can't you please inform me fully of what is going on? I will be with him most of the time, don't you think that it would be better if I knew in detail."

"Fine, you are right. You are right." Jin finally gave in, despite the fact that he did seem reluctant to get deep regarding Jimin issue for he wasn't sure if he had the right to speak of such personal matters with anyone but you did have a valid point and since Jimin was in your care, it was better if you were to be fully aware of what could come your way.

"So Jimin actually was three other personalities that we call as 'main'. Those characters all think that they are the real Jimin. They are aware of Jimin's life and existence but not of each other. They do know about the so-called 'secondary' personalities that Jimin possesses, however. "

"Secondary?"

"Yeah, secondary are the personalities that he adapts from the roles that he had played or seen around and has happened to identify himself somehow. When he slips onto a secondary type personality, he isn't aware of his life, his existence. There's no Park Jimin nor any people like me and you. Everyone around him is replaced with people the character knows. A whole life on its own basically. The secondary characters are not sick nor do they have a personality disorder, they go by the script, they have a generative way of thinking and most importantly, he usually never becomes a secondary character twice. To conclude they are personalities that don't stay and as thus we can't fully call them, his personalities yet we don't really know why they happen either." Silence followed his words as you just stared at each other for a bit, him being aware that the information that was shared wasn't as easy to digest and you basically living his thoughts.

"Okay...so the three so-called main personalities...they all want to...take his place?" You tried to reform your words in the best way possible as you recalled the fact that previously that personality of his wanted to kill Jimin off but if you were to use that word, Jin might get even more worried.

"The main personalities are the real problem. Not only because they want to take his place but also because they become an obstacle to treating his disorder. They hold information and knowledge to his psyche that Jimin himself isn't aware and if we were to be presented with those inner issues, maybe we could come close to curing him, or so my girlfriend claims. She is his personal psychologist." His words made you regret slightly the fact that you didn't keep that guy around for a bit more. Maybe you could have led him to speak of something if you were to have known.

"Then our goal is to get out those personalities of his more often and pursue them to open up to us and trust us enough to get valuable information. What are those other two personalities like? Have you met them?" Jin got surprisingly alert as you spoke those words, his eyes travelling around the room as if he was being watched then he leaned a bit closer to you, making you lean your ear towards him silently.

"The one you got to know is a manipulative personality. Deceptive to the bone. He could literally convince you about anything. He has most of Jimin's acting talents on his side. We call him Jimin P1. Now Jimin P2 is...depressive, suicidal. Everything about him is bleak, dark, negative. and P3...well...P3...that's the one I am glad you didn't meet."

"You do know that when you say things like that, the other is bound to get more curious, right?"You whispered to him as you were now head to head, speaking as if you were discussing scandalous affairs.

"Let's just say that P3 is...someone who would laugh as someone dies before his feet. He has no heart. Zero empathy. The first time he appeared, I got home and found my bunny pet hanging on the fan, squirming in pain and he just seating on the couch eating popcorn and watching it the poor thing struggling. Making others suffer give him satisfaction."

"Damn, okay, I guess the real Jimin is the saner one after all. I never thought I would be saying this but heck it seems so." You admitted as you stared at him with wide eyes, finding his description of P3 way too unwelcoming.

"You heard nothing from me by the way. This conversation never happened. Jimin doesn't like talking about such...he says that people will hate him if they knew." Jin raised his index finger towards you, a small smile on his lips that made you feel that strangely he was being rather comfortable with you and entrusting you without much hesitation.

"Conversation? What conversation. You just came in. Want some coffee?" You stood from your seat, satisfying him with your reply and he nodded his head to a positive reply. You were ready to walk away towards the kitchen and make him that coffee however you only managed to take two steps before hearing Jimin's voice, calling you.

Both you and Jin rushed towards the door frame of your bedroom simultaneously, halting by the door as you witnessed Jimin helping himself to sit in a seated position on the bed, his hands holding his head immediately after he rested his back in a good position. Jin hurried to his eid and helped him adjust himself better, putting a pillow behind his back and covering him with the blanket while he still seemed lost under his hazy vision and heavy head that the injection had caused him.

"Take it easy, everything is okay. Just rest a bit." Jin patted his shoulder reassuringly as Jimin had yet to lift his head however from where you were you could see a smile that was hanging on his lips while his head was down. A smile that gave you the chills and stand you in place for you couldn't help but realize.

The Jimin you knew, was not the one that had just awakened.
