Chapter 49

Silence had grasped the room in its clutches, leaving you and Jimin secluded, each in their own thoughts, before the warm food that had arrived but was yet to get touched by either of you.

Your face was no longer stained by tears as you had gone and washed your face after you had spent some more vulnerable minutes on Jimin's shoulder, him having encouraged you to release completely any feelings you had at that moment and cry till your tears would naturally stop coming.

The fact that you had shared such a moment with him, was most likely the reason why you were so quiet in his presence, as you found it embarrassing and scary simultaneously. How you had left some you knew so little see you in such a vulnerable moment.

"Are we gonna stare at the food for much longer or am I allowed to eat?" His voice made you throw your gaze towards him, and you quickly urged him to go ahead and it, while feeling the awkwardness sipping into your bones.

"I don't know what you are thinking but this is your house and I am a guessed basically, so if you are to be quiet, that affects me too in a way. Just be natural. Nothing happened." Jimin gave a try to help you lose up despite the fact that he had a good guess of why you were behaving the way you were.

However, he found it ridiculous because nothing was wrong in his eyes with you showing a vulnerable side to him. Besides you had seen him vulnerable too. In his mind, it was pretty equal.

"Yeah, I know. Let's forget about that, okay? I can trust you that you won't speak of it, right?" You tried to smile as you locked eyes with him, having prepared yourself for both a positive and negative question, which in case of the second, you most likely were going to use his secret as a bargain if needed.

"As if I know anyone that would be interested in your business. In case you have forgotten, I am the famous one here." Jimin pointed at himself with a slight bit of arrogance looming over his facial features then proceeded to finally take a bite from his food.

"Oh my! It seems I was a step before death and I just got revived" He stated, making you laugh a bit unwillingly at how extra he was being.

" Drama running in your veins apparently." You retorted playfully, matching the energy he was radiating and joined him in eating.

"It most likely does but would you like to know what was running in my fingers?" You arched an eyebrow at his question before humming a positive response and Jimin couldn't help but let a small smirk take over his lips while thinking of how you were to react upon hearing his thoughts.

" A beautiful thin velvety emerald looking bra." he gifted you a quick wink alongside his words that made you choke on your food and start coughing.

"What the- hey! What were you doing in my closet with my undergarments!!" You slammed your hand on the table, once you regained yourself, trying to slide the embarrassment of his statement and focus on the action that he clearly shouldn't have done.

"First of all, don't look at me with that angry gaze, because I didn't go snooping for your undergarments behind your back, you yourself with your own hands shoved me in your closet, Miss. And what did you expect someone to do in a closet anyway? I had no other choice but touch fabrics and look." He defended himself pretty calmly and you were left looking at him with wide eyes, struggling a bit to find anything else to say to make his action be deemed as improper.

"You know that's personal. You could have just ignored it "

" Girl, I just took hold of it, I didn't smell it or anything. I am not a pervert. Besides it was washed, you think if I was to have found unclean clothes in there I wouldn't have freaked out? I may be cool but I have my limits too." His casual reply made you shove your face in between your hands, taking a moment to yourself to gather your brain cells that were being damaged out of embarrassment at the way he spoke of everything in such a straightforward way.

"Fine, whatever. Let's forget about that too. Let's find a new topic to talk about... what about acting. You love acting. Let's talk about that." You tried to change the subject and Jimin nodded his head in agreement as he was still chewing on his food, then after swallowing it, he grabbed a tissue and cleaned his hands, then stood up from where he was sitting and to your surprise, he came and took a seat right beside you on the floor.

"What-What?" You stuttered unintentionally and he just took the food out of your hands and proceeded to clean your hands with a handkerchief, then he held your hands in his softly, making you look at him through the whole process in confusion.

" I know you may not like it but it's better to sort out your feelings early than let them well up inside. So let go of whatever nervousness or embarrassment you may be feeling. You have no reason to be insecure with me, you know more about me than I know about you. " His words got you by surprise as you weren't expecting him to try to make you open up by putting himself to your service to listen to whatever you may be holding inside.

"It's too personal."

"My personality disorder is also personal but you know of it." He replied shortly and you fell quiet, soon understanding that he had a point. For you were as much of a stranger as he was to you and just as much difficult to trust yet you had knowledge of basically the most vulnerable and terrifying aspect about him. It sure sounded logical that your breakdown fell short in comparison.

"By now I am sure you have realized...I don't have the best relationship with my father." You diverted your gaze as you uttered those words, his hands still holding into yours, in a way that made you feel saver.

"Yeah, I have also noticed that he may be somehow deserving of your attitude. However, I believe your sister has a point at one thing." His words made you look again at him and you couldn't help but freeze upon meeting his eyes again, mesmerized by the soft gaze he was giving you.

"Which one?" You dared to ask and he brought one of his hands to lay on top of your head before he responded.

"Nothing lasts forever, be it your relationship with your sister, the drive you may have for writing or the hate you may carry for your father. Just like your love for him had an end, so will have your hate." He uttered his well-thought words which you couldn't help but deny while grabbing his hand and pulling it away from your head just like you pulled your other hand away from his gentle hold.

"I will never forgive him! Never!"

"Even if he dies?" His immediate response got you to halt your anger for a second as you met his eyes again and your mind dived into imagining that moment.

How were you to feel if someone was to come and bring sudden news of his death? You would like to think that you wouldn't care less. You would like to think that it won't affect you in the slightest however you couldn't help but dislike the fact that even you weren't able to lie to yourself about that.

"I understand he may not deserve your forgiveness. But forgiving him is not only about him. You will regret it. There will come a day that he will be no more and you will regret the fact that you weren't a better person with him. Are you sure, you want to go through that kind of pain?" His gaze turned stern as he spoke, letting you taste a bit of a tougher comfort because he was aware that you wouldn't like his words but for your sake, he had to speak of them.

Because human nature is always like that. We fight and collide like there is no tomorrow. We hold grudges and treasure our hurt egos till the end. For forgiveness is never easy to be given, especially to people that never seemed sorry for the pain that they caused you. But in the end, it's our life and our perspective. It's us that break and gets hurt from loving or hating someone. In both these strong emotions, we stand alone and because of that, we have to embrace them in order for us to heal ourselves.

"You are in no position to understand. You don't have a father like mine." Your words dripping venomous on Jimin's ears, despite the fact that he was expecting you to stand your ground and decline his piece of advice.

" Yeah, you are right. I can't understand... because my father is already dead." He stood up from his seat right after speaking of those words that left you with wide eyes and a heavy heart, for you had realized that you shouldn't have spoken like that.

"Wait! I...I.." you followed him, not wanted to leave this on a bad note and apologize now that you were still on time but Jimin turned around with a bright smile on his lips and cracked a small laugh, before seating back down to where he was prior, before his share of food.

"What's with that face? You didn't think I got hurt by that now did you?" He questioned and you just stared at him confused over his behaviour.

" Come on, someone like me wouldn't get hurt over just remembering a fact. I am not that normal." He laughed again then gestured you to seat back down and continued with his belated breakfast as if nothing had happened.
