Chapter 34
You had returned to your shift after the conversation you had with Jin as he had told you that he was going to take care of Jimin and get him home. Thankfully for you, your coworker had not question you much on why you had gotten so long to return nor your absence had fallen into the notice of Miss Kwan, allowing you to bring this shift to an end successfully.
The sound of your front door getting shut after you entered gave you the freedom to crush right there on the floor, feeling the tiredness kicking in. Your muscles felt sore and your feet were killing you however that was not something unusual for you. Your body was mostly in such a state actually. You had almost forgotten when was the last time you had not been in physical pain.
What you assumed to have exhausted you today more than the other times, was mostly the fact that you had slept well the day prior and your body was dragging you, urging you to give it that amount of sleep and however that was something you could not do. You always felt more sleepy after crushing from long continuous nights of sleeplessness and it was a bit difficult to push yourself to throw that desire for the sweet slumber away however, of course, you were going to succeed and go against it, no matter how natural it was. You had other things to be doing and definitely sleeping properly was something that had long been out of your life's picture.
"If I sleep right now, there is no way I will wake up in time to go at Jimin's set." You murmured to yourself as you pushed your body again at your own two feet and sluggishly took off your shoes and your coat.
A yawn escaped your lips as you entered the living room space and threw your bag on the couch before taking your tie off from your hair and proceeding to grab some clothes from your closet and go take a shower that should awaken you and give you the needed boost to go on with your day.
While under the warmth of the water, you closed your eyes for a moment, enjoying the feeling and the echo the waterdrops left around your small bathroom. Your mind didn't take long to empty and focus only on that peaceful pouring sound, till an image flashed in your mind and made you open your eyes.
"If you don't have a knife inside that pocket of yours, don't you dare get it out at all...If you are not willing to end my life, stop getting in my way"
Jimin's words echoed in your brain along with the image of his face. The way his eyes looked, the way you could tell how much he meant that statement. It was disturbing to you, to say the least, it was terrifying and scary to see someone like that and even though you had managed to not show it much at that very moment, his eyes had stained your memory with the taste of pain he may have felt.
What could have been the cause that he ended up in such a condition? Had he been born with this disorder -whatever his was named as- or he had developed it along the way? And if yes, how does someone develops such a personality disorder? There were so many questions that were travelling in your head as such were some of your guesses that his condition was, despite the fact that no one had openly admitted to you that it was anything of that kind yet.
But of course, who could admit such a thing? If anyone was to know the career of this actor would be over in no time, to not say that his life would go downhill altogether as surely the public won't hesitate to judge and criticize him.
The thought only stressed you out even though this was not your life, nor your secret to keeping the burden off but just like many other times in your life, you had been put in the place of knowing things that you most likely shouldn't be in knowledge off and that brings along a piece of the pain the individual may have as it's only natural to empathize and understand when the secrets are of this kind.
You stepped out of the shower and dried your body off, quickly getting dressed and hurriedly half blowing dry your hair, before braiding them in a single ponytail and exiting your house. You struggled with your shoes on your way to the elevator and pushed the button to call it before you heard your phone vibrating.
Unfortunately, you didn't get to answer the call as you didn't manage to find your phone in time while in that messy bag of yours full of things, but the elevator reached to you as you took hold of it and you entered, pressing the button of the level floor, before proceeding to unlock your phone.
"DongMin? What does he want this early?" You spoke to yourself as you proceeded to call him back and placed your phone to your ear.
"What do you want?" You abruptly talked to him once he replied.
"Way to speak to someone first thing in the morning. Hey seriously, so rude." He complained and you rolled your eyes, not caring much about his blabbing.
"Just tell me what you want or I am hanging up."
"Jimin told me to call you! He wanted to know if you are coming?" He told you as he stepped out of the van in which he was and had just managed to park it right after he had brought Jimin for his morning filming.
"I will be at the mall in fifteen minutes max. Just because I was late the first time, that doesn't mean I will always be late you know? Don't you think that is rude to prejudice people just by one mistake they did? I am hanging up!" You yelled at him, purposely bringing the conversation in a way so you could return back to him the claim of rudeness that he did to you earlier.
You walked out of the building a bit satisfied with the way you had shut him up, till Jimin's name came to mind and you couldn't help but find his actions a bit too risky after what had happened yesterday. Anyone that was in their right mind, would most likely have taken a day off after that yet here he was going earlier than he has to even. You really failed to understand him and his obsession with work. But yet again, were you really that far from neglecting your health for your passions and work?
Yeah, definitely I ain't one to talk.
You concluded as you sped up your pace, heading to the bus stop.
---Time skip---
"So after the kissing scene-"
"Excuse me?!" Jimin gazed at the director in surprise as he was summing up the scene they had to film in this mall before they change place and head to film other parts.
"There was no kissing scene in the script I received, "Jimin added and the director looked at him the around him, soon yelling at someone who must have been in charge of informing the actors about the change they had made at the last moment for this scene.
"We concluded that a forceful kiss would go with this moment. Bring the corrected version to actor Park immediately!!" He looked at Jimin informing him then ordered someone around before returning to face him.
"I hope it won't be a problem for you to memorise the changes in the scene, right? You are a professional. "He patted Jimin's shoulder then walked away, shouted to people to hurry up and get ready cause they had to start shooting in ten minutes.
Jimin stayed quiet and just threw his eyes around, in search of seeing any reactions from his actor and actress coworkers but they did not seem as surprised with the changes, thing that brought him to think that they may have been informed about it prior to this moment that he did.
Someone didn't take long to run towards Jimin and give him the corrected manuscript and he bowed at the worker slightly before taking it and flipping through the pages once, quiet casually and calmly as such he looked at the eyes of everyone that was observing him.
"Here, you can have it. Thank you for bringing it for me." He handed the manuscript back to the guy that brought it to him with a smile, exactly five minutes after he had opened those pages, leaving the guy be looking at him in shock as Jimin proceeded to walk away and position himself for his scene.
He ignored well the chatters and the looks that the people around him were trying to make as subtle as possible as if he was stupid enough to not understand that they were talking about him. His eyes were travelling nonchalantly around the set as he was waiting until he took notice of your figure that had just arrived at the set and was looking a bit lost from where to go.
A smile crept at his lips as he kept observing you, finding your hurry and possible worry of being late, entertaining but it didn't take long for you to take notice of DongMin and walk towards him, only to halt at a fit distance from him and turn your body to the front, towards him. You made eye contact with him and slightly bowed your head as a greeting and his smile grew a bit more at how proper you were trying to be at that moment. It was just an image that contradicted his memory of you of last night that was jumping off balconies without much hesitation.
He proceeded to mouth something at you that you did not quite catch before he turned his gaze away, the director's voice soon being heard clearly as he called to bring the clapperboard.
The room fell in silence soon enough as if someone had turned off all the voices of the people that were around and once the clapping sound echoed in the atmosphere you couldn't help but notice how his acting talent was actually the perfect mask to cover his issue. For who could be a better actor and pretend to be someone else so well than someone who truly is not just one character, to begin with.
