Chapter 3
Almost like someone is walking in the shadows a girl turned trying to find out who was following her. Her footsteps echoed in the dark street as she run toward her house.
"Boo!" A girl screamed as person from shadows finally came out.
"Oh my God Mon, you scared me as hell!" A girl yelled at her still holding hand over her chest.
"Oh come one, I didn't scare you," she looked at her, "much," she added finally lowering her head.
"Sure you did. I could have died." A girl kick another one on the hand walking past her.
"Come one, David said we should come to the shore. We could sir by the bonfire. We could tell scary stories."
A girl waved with her head.
"You know I hate horror stories,"
"Well then, we could tell funny stories," Mon said hugging the other girl.
"Okay," a girl laughed and turned into different direction.
"You are the best Dove."
A scream painted my ears as I woke up in the bed. My whole body was shivering and the sweat fall down my face.
Mon. Who was that? I felt heart beating down my throat as I remembered. My best friend. What happened with her?
Jumping from the bed I run toward the doors only to be faced with different hallways I don't even know. General lead me to my room and I didn't even pay attention where we are going.
"Dear God," I mumble placing head on the doors. That dream was still to fresh. It was so real, feelings that has happened traced me on my skin. I felt hot bonfire as we sat in the sand telling all different stories. I remembered taste of the juice I was drinking.
Of God, it wasn't a dream, but my memory. That happened, but why I couldn't remember it.
"You might consider sleeping in the bed, it's his purpose, not on the doors."
"Great. Just what I needed." I answer without even looking.
"Well I'm glade I could help," says Arawn and walked past me.
"Thanks," I say mockingly and turn to face him.
"What happened princess, didn't like your room?" He says imitating my voice before laughing out loud.
"Very funny. I'm dying on the inside," my eyes narrow and I turn to leave. "Which room is General's?" I turn to him again.
"Hey, well I don't think he would like night visit, you know. Busy man and all of that," his eyes sparkle with a mean glow as he turn me in some directions. One second he was mocking me and the next one I feel his hands on my hips. "That way, try you luck," he whispers into my ear before just disappearing.
"Psycho," I murmur under my voice running toward the General's room.
Knocking panickally on the doors I see his face looking at me.
"Please I need help. I had a dream that like seemed like a memory but I can't remember of it. Is it possible it's just my brain?" Just when I said it I realized how stupid that sound. Great job, I just have embarrassed myself.
"Well that couldn't wait until the morning?" He replies without a reaction.
"At that moment it didn't," I answer already turning to leave. Stupid girl.
"Well it can happen after a trauma some people pushs back their memories."
I nod. "It's probably that," I smile sadly turning to leave.
I felt his hand on my elbow. "Would you mind if I looked it? He raises an eyebrow but I just shrugg my shoulders.
"I guess I wouldn't," I answer hugging myself.
He exits his room closing the doors shut behind him.
"It won't hurt, just try to relax," his fingers touches my temples and I automatically close my eyes. The dream appeared to me, so fresh, like I'm in it. I could even smell a salt in the air, and I could hear tickling of the fire. Monica was sitting next to me. We laughed on the David's story. But then suddenly it just got lost in the cloud of fog and I opened my eyes.
"It is a memory," he says when silence stretched and I stepp back, "connected to some important memory you just don't remember. It can happen sometimes."
He let his hands fall on the side of his body and his eyes duh into mine.
"No need to worry. You just went through the attack. It's natural." His eyes looked comforting and so friendly I had to smile.
"Thank you," I whisper wanting to go to my room. But then I remembered.
"This is how you will search my memories, is it?"
He nods not saying a thing.
"Yes, but then we will have company, and you won't remember anything." He answers not looking at me. Like he changed his mind and decided ti share that information wih me.
I nod too, but he didn't see me.
"Okay then, good night."
"Good night Dove," he answers quietly before turning to his room.
General is some mysterious person.

The next morning my late night visit seem like a bad memory. I wake up in my bed not realising why I made such panic attack last night. It was just a dream. A bad dream.
The maid gave me some new cloth when I walked out of the bathroom and told me to go to dinning hall. General will wait for me in there. After the breakfast we will proceed to military base.
That is why I'm sitting at the end of table my fingers touching painting on the wall. It's the one from last night. My fights trace uneven pain strokes and I see just a regular painting. But his magic plays a big role. There is that thing with something we love. No matter how much we tried to live some other things it's impossible. Our mind; our heart is connecting with one particular thing, and it has special heart in our memory.
This painter always made my heart grow big. He was just like someone I imagined a role model could be. He started from very bad towns, his magic always making him look weak. But he transformed into a magnificent artist thanks to street art.
"No luck last night, huh?" A lovely voice come to my ears followed with smell of horses.
"Running in the wild so early in the morning, huh?" I imitat his voice standing up from the chair.
Arawn is dressed in black again. His white hair is tied at the back but few wisps run from the band. A smile appeared on his face.
"That bad you are checking me out?"
Rolling my eyes I refuse to give him answer to a stupid question and I point to his left elbow.
"Bleeding Arawn." I hiss under my breath and turn to a sound of footsteps approaching.
"Good morning son," Council Van Doren enter the room followed with General, "Good morning Miss. Dove." He smiled and I did the same.
"I hope you will do me a favour and stay on breakfast," he turns to general and nodded into my direction.
"Of course sir, we would like to." General looks at me and I nod. I did the same.
"I sense some tension between you two," Arawn whispers into my ear, "you didn't do something bad did you?" I feel his mocking tone leaving cold breath on my skin. "Because I have to tell you, he is complicated. General is not the person who likes fast. You know nice and steady."
"Stop please," I turn to him facing him. A smile played on his lips and I wished to kick him.
"Why? I'm trying to match you two." He looks at General talking something to his grandfather.
"Well stop. Nothing is happening." I push past him walking toward the table. I sat one chair oposote from the Genral and Arawn sat next to me.
"But it doesn't matter. I can bind you two," he continues with his story not caring everyone can hear him.
When General and Council D stopped and looked at him he smiled. "Dove and I have private conversation. Please," he rolls his eyes like they were spying on his conversation and smiles.
He is that annoying bee in the spring. It's just after the winter and they taste sweet thing for the first time after a long break. No matter how much you tried to get rid of it it always came back. Arawn is that bee. Annoying and full of crap.
"Stop it," I mumble before taking a sip of milk. Until this day I never knew how much people could have food on their tables. I just supposed because they are rich they can have everything, but as it seemed everyone from them had their breakfast. Mister Van Doren had a little fruit, a piece of meat and little sallat, General had a big bowl full of milk with pieces of something swimming in it. Next to it was fruit and a chocolate. Arawn had something like me. A little bit of everything.
With a chuckle he takes grapes and turns to General.
"Grandpa has to visit a court today general, so I'm afraid your little mission on the left will have to wait," he makes a squirrel sound showing at me and turned again to him.
"Is that true, sir?" General turns to older gentleman and looks at him.
"Nothing to worry about son. I'm perfectly able to go by myself." He tapps him on the hand and continue. "Besides, you have more important job. It's war time. We can't allow those people go unnoticed."
"Why I'm not noticed about your plans, sir?" General's voice is painted with anger.
"I told them to do so. You have important jobs." Council answers calmly taking a sip of tea.
"My primary mission is to protect you sir. How I'm going to do that if you hide things from me?" General continues.
"It's nothing big. A trip for twenty minutes. Nothing important."
"It's mine good intention to help them in this war. Their Highnesness are familiar with that." Generals hand connects with a table.
"Thank you very much Arawn," he mumbles to his grandchildren, before turning to General.
"Always Grandpa," he raises a glass toward his direction before turning to me.
"Isn't it wonderful?" He shows at General now talking something to his grandfather and then nodding. He then looked at me but I looked away.
"What is that?" I look at them.
"Little secret causing so much disorder." He leans against the chair and exhales.
He is that person who enjoys in richness no matter the time. He doesn't care it's war outside. Bombs, and attacks are not important to him. A glass full of wine is important to him. He doesn't care.
"You are not normal." I say drinking my milk wanting to get from here.
"Neither are you honey. Make peace with it," he raises a glass to me and smiles. His face lit with fun. For a moment I forget who is he.
"Dove, may I speak to you in a moment?" I jump in my chair when General speaks to me. I completely forgot about him.
"Yes.. I mean of course." Placing a glass back in table I stand up and follow him.
"But we would like to hear your conversation," Arawn yells behind us before laughing out loud.
I roll my eyes on him and moved on the exit doors.
"I have to follow him to the court house today. I don't understand why he does things like this," he shakes his head and looks around.
"We will be able to leave in the after hours. We will be gone before five afternoon."
I nod. I don't know what he wantef me to say. I don't understand him, his work or anything else. It's just to nod and pretend I know.
"You do what you have to do. I will wait. It's not like I can go somewhere." I smile at him and patt him on the hand.
"Besides I have lovely company." My hands trace Arawn's flying figure while talking to his grandfather. I think he is imitating a bird.
"Be careful. That face is just a mask. Because no one know what his real face is." General's eyes seemed so serious. This time he didn't joke.
