Cora frowned folding her arms across her chest, "My baby ? My baby ? She said my baby, didn't she ? Why did she call you my baby anyways ? You better not lie to me ! "

Kal sighed wiping his face, "I don't know. I don't know who was that woman. And I can't even ask my mother, because I don't know her name. I-" Then he abruptly stopped speaking and looked down at his hand. He raised his brow and unfolded the paper to read it. He knew it wasn't for him but his mother, but this was just too weird.

''Dear Donya,
It's been awhile since we'd seen each other, actually since you stole MY baby !
Yes bitch, you're about to get caught in your bullshit. Unfortunately, your lovely husband is not here anymore to taste my sweet revenge too. Well, to be honest with you, I would like if he was still there so I could still…Haha ! I think you know what we used to do. He was always making me feel so so so damn good. Whatever, I wrote this just for you to know that I'm coming back. Yes, after all these years. Now that I got my shit together and know what I want, I'M BACK ! And my baby is finally going to know the truth, the all truth, nothing else but it. Everybody will finally know who you really are.

He read it two more times getting more confused. He didn't know what she was talking about exactly, but some truth was about to be revealed. But what could it be ? A child had been stolen ? Who ? There were three possibilities. Kaldrick, Kalia or…him. He shook his head immediately. Maybe she was a crazy woman and was lying. But she knew his mother's name. As he was more thinking about it, he could feel a headache coming and his heart was beating faster. He replayed the image of her face in his mind. She looked so familiar. Someone he knew looked like her. But who ? And who was this Mandy ? 

Cora looked at Kalvin and started getting worried as his expression was changing. He seemed pissed and lost, "Are you okay ? "

"I…I…Uh…I…I need to talk with my mother. I think that she had the answers I needed." 

She frowned, "The answers you needed. Let me see that letter." He handed it to her and she read it carefully not missing a single word. She was then as confused as him, "What is she talking about ? Kalvin, I don't know if what I understood is…Uh…a good thing."

He swallowed his saliva slowly, "And what did you understand ? "

"Uh…This Mandy had an affair with…your…father. And she's accusing your mother to have taken her baby from her. So, she's maybe…yours…or Kaldrick's or Kalia's mother. I mean, biological mother. But all of this can be lies and maybe she just wanted to create problems in your family." She was praying for it.

He took a deep breath, "I really have to see my mom."

"Hello dear friends ! What did take you so long to come ? " Acacia greeted them getting in the car with her brother. 

"We were only fifteen minutes late." Cora said rolling her eyes. Kalvin was quiet and mentally not with them. 

"Yeah, okay. Can we eat tacos tonight ? " 

"No ! I want chicken and rice." Almar protested narrowing his eyes at her. 

"No way ! Plus I asked first. We'll eat chicken and rice, another day. Mummy, can you let him know, please ? "

Cora sighed shaking her head, "I want to eat pizza rolls, so it'll be that. Now be quiet ! " 

They both groaned crossing their arms. Acacia had another option though. Well, that's what she thought, "Kal, help me, pleeeeeeease. I know you want tacos too." Kalvin didn't say anything. He was too deep in his thoughts to pay attention to the current conversation, "I am talking to you, Kal ? What's wrong with him, mum ? "

Cora looked at him and bit on her lips. She felt bad for him. It wasn't cool what was happening to him. At all. If she was him, she didn't know how she would've reacted to this. It was too much to take. She knew he was surely wondering if the things that were written in this letter were true or false. 

Why can't life be easier ?

After dropping Cora and the kids off, Kalvin was now driving to his mother's house. He had so many questions running in his mind and he needed responses to them all. He was anxious though, because it didn't know if he was about to open the Pandora's box. Well, Mandy had already done this by giving him this letter. 

Ten more minutes later and he was finally in front of her house. He got out of his car, locked the doors and made his way to the front door. He was so nervous. He felt like he was about to throw up at any moment. His hands were even shaking. His life was maybe about to change. And so drastically. Now that he thought about it more, she did call him son and then my baby.

It meant something , right ? Or maybe no.

"Hey ! I didn't know you were coming. How are you ? " She greeted her son with a hug, that he didn't return, what was strange. Really strange. She pulled away and stared at him noticing that something was wrong with him. She moved to the side and let him come in. 

As he entered in the living room, he wasn't prepared to see his older siblings there. It seemed like they were always having family reunion without organizing them. After all, it was good that they were there too because the conversation he was about to have with their mother wasn't only involving him, but them too. 

"Hey, baby bro ! " Kalia hugged him and he quickly hugged her back. 

"Wassup ? " The two brothers dapped each other. 

"Kal, why are you…What's wrong with you ? " Kalia asked noticing his unusual behavior also. He looked like he had seen a ghost. 

"I…I…" He breathed and calmed his nerves, "I have this for you." He gave the piece of paper, that he pulled out of his pocket, to his mother. 

Donya looked at it frowning and then read it. More she was reading, more she was getting angry and scared. If she disliked Mandy in the past, now she hated her for sure. Why was she doing this for ? After all these years, that's now that she wanted to do this. Donya sighed licking her bottom lip. 

They made eye contact, "If…you have to say something, then just say it." 

"I…I have nothing to say." 

He couldn't believe this. He was afraid, stressed, aggravated and mostly confused. Was she really trying to play game now ? She can't serious right now, Kalvin thought shaking his head. 

"What is going on ? " Kalia asked as her eyes were traveling between her brother and mother. Something was telling her that the end of the day wasn't going to end too well. Since none of the two was answering her -because they were more preoccupied with their gaze war- she took the letter in their mother's hands and read it too. Her heart made a big jump in her chest.

It was time.

"Mama, just tell him. He deserves to know now. He's older. You can't hide this away from him forever. It's your only chance, don't miss it." 

"Tell him about what, Lia ? " Kaldrick asked walking towards her. He read it too, "Shit ! " He was half shocked.

Kalvin was getting even more frustrated, "So…it's true what she…she…Who…who is she ? "

Donya bit on her bottom lip and then took a deep breath, "She's your mother." As she said that, the doorbell rang. Kalia went to answer it and one minute later, Mandy had joined them in the living room. She was smiling like she had accomplished something exceptional. For her, she did.

It was a success ! 

"I knew it ! You're nosey, it's a thing in our family. Hey, Donya ! I missed you, boo." She said sarcastically and she then pulled a cigarette out of her bra and lighted it. 

"Do not smoke in my house, you bitch ! " Donya screamed at her.

"And what would you do if I don't stop ? " Mandy loved being provocative. It was like a hobby to her. She mainly loved the reaction from the other persons. 

Kalia smacked her teeth and snatched the cigarette out of her hand and threw it in her glass of water, "What are you doing here ? "

Mandy smirked, "I came to see my son. You kept him away from me all these years and now I want to be a part of his life ! You stole my baby ! I'm his mother and not you, stupid slut ! " She yelled at Donya. 

"Slut ? Me ? " She snorted folding her arms, "I can't believe this ! YOU were sleeping with everybody, men or women, even both at the same time and I'm sure you're still doing this and I am the slut ? Fortunately, we saved Kalvin from you ! You would've given him a miserable life and he would've not became the great man he is today ! You should be thanking me for what I did ! "

"Mama, you were forced ! " Kalia said angrily. 

"Yes, but it was for a good c-"

"Wait ! I thought you and dad adopted Kalvin, but actually you stole him ? And Kalia, why are you saying that she was forced ? I don't get it." Kaldrick cut her off. 

"Daddy was beating her and she had never said anything about this. I should've never known like y'all, but I saw them one day…I was coming back home from school earlier than usual and they were arguing. They were yelling at each other, reproaching things and then he slapped her. And to see that brought me back to that night when I was five years old. They were arguing too and suddenly someone knocked on the door, dad went to answer it and then he was back with a baby in his arms. Mama was shaking her head refusing to hold the little baby in her arms when dad told her to take him. He got mad and punched her face. The next day, they told us they adopted our little brother and when we asked mama why she had a black eye, she told us that she hit her face against a wall." She told the story as tears were falling on her cheek. 

"Shit…" Kaldrick mumbled taken back by all of this and realizing that everything she was saying was making sense as the memories were coming back in his mind.

"And one day, I almost told the secrets, so to punish me…"

"Kalia, please." Donya pleaded feeling so embarrassed and irritated. 

"Why not ? Better say everything now. You don't want me to tell them how you and dad watched as uncle Renny was raping me ! "

"Kal-"

"NO ! I was only ten years old ! How could you ! And you stole her child ! "

"It wasn-"

"I was there too when she came to our house begging to have her baby back ! At this time I wasn't understanding everything, but n-"

"SHUT UP ! SHUT UP ! EVERYBODY BE QUIET ! " Kalvin shouted as his head was about to explode with all these information he was receiving right now. He couldn't believe this. Was it really true ? He was even more lost than earlier, "You're the worst family of this planet ! I'm tired of y'all ! "

"Yes, say it again, son. Come with me, your real family." Mandy said and tried to grab his arm, but he jerked her hand away.

"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME ! YOU'RE NOT MY FAMILY ! YOU'RE NOTHING TO ME ! "

The smile she had on her face once, disappeared immediately and then anger was boiling in her heart. She didn't really like rejection and mainly not from the son she had lost in the past, "He was right. Cameron was right." 

Kalvin now thought that he had done lost his mind for real this time and stopped moving, "Cameron ? What is your full name again ? "

She shrugged, "Mandy Judith Prones." Was her answer. 

Kal's breath was slowing, "Prones ? " He knew he had already heard this before, "OH HELL NO ! That bastard is my brother ? You must be kidding me ! "

"Well…he's not really your brother."
