(6:38 p.m)

It was finally time to eat and everybody was excited to feed their body. They couldn't wait anymore. Plus, the smell coming from the dining room wasn't helping. Each one of them was ready to devour everything, mainly Cora who was eating for two. 

"Food coma here I am." Nelson said licking his lips as looking at all the food before him. 

"Me too. Damn ! We're going to fight over some things. But these smashed potatoes, that turkey and everything else is all mine though." Kaldrick said licking his lips as well. You could also hear his stomach groaning. 

"Now, we all know you won't eat all of this, so stop with the lies." Acacia said with her arms folded. 

"Well, before to enjoy the food, we're going to say grace first to thank the Lord. Who wants to bless the table ? " Mama C asked looking around. Terry raised his hand jumping like a little kid in a candy store, "Okay, T. But no funny business, I know you." She warned chuckling and pointing her index finger at him. He always found a way to make the audience laugh. 

He nodded his head, "Okay. Bow your head and hold hands." They did as he said. He then cleared his throat and started singing surprising everybody, "Oh deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeear Fatheeeeeeeeeer, we're coooooooomiiiiiiiing toooooo yoo-"

"Terry ! Now, you know you can't sing. Stop ! " Kalia interrupted narrowing her eyes at him. The twins, Mikayla, Kalvin, Nelson and Latoya were sneering shaking their head.

"Hater." He mumbled before to began again. He cleared his throat a second time, "Dear Father, I respect everything you had and are doing in this world, but you should really have given Kalia a sense of humor, she's never funny and it's getting on my last nerves now..." Kalia shoot him one of her angry glare and he caught it, "...Anyways, we're coming today to you to thank you for blessing us with each other, health, a roof on our head, jobs with which we can provide all we have -by the way, thanks so much for blessing me with a talent for basketball, without you I would've been nothing, you're the real MVP, you're my nigga all day every da-"

Halley smacked the back of his neck causing him to stop and then stuck his tongue at her, "...Where was I at ? Oh yeah ! And thanks for blessing us with the food on the table. By the way, God bless every person who cooked their ass off a-"

"You can't say that ! " Sasha cut him off. 

He mentally rolled his eyes and pursued, "...God, if someone else interrupts, please give me the strength." The kids, Kalvin, Kaldrick, Nelson and Latoya were trying to not burst out laughing and it was hard. They were about to explode, "Anyways. To do short, we thank you so much. We smart, we loyal, we grateful and we appreciate you. God we loves you. P.O.P, hold it down. Pimp squad for life, well not anymore for me, but shout out to you Donna, you sure made my year. R.I.P whenever you are. Amen." 

Now they were all laughing except Mama C who was shaking her head, but had a little smile on her face, Sasha who couldn't believe what she just had heard and Kalia who was looking at him with a straight face.

"You're so disrespectful ! " 

Terry sighed rolling his eyes, "Oh God ! She got her a man and now she thinks she's the shit. She doesn't even know how to act anymore, so please show her the light before we lose her for real. Take the wheel Jesus. Amen." 

"T, you're crazy ! " Cora told him wiping her eyes. She was in tears due to the laughter. 

"I'm not. I'm just real. No filter, no filter, no filter, no, no, no."

"Man, leave Drake alone. You can't sing, so stop trying to remix his damn songs." Kaldrick said as they were now sitting down.

Sasha clapped her hands getting their attention, "Bow your head and hold hands. I'm going to bless the food."

Terry pouted, "But I already did." He whined like he was three years old. 

"Yes and it was...interesting. But I really want to do this...too."

"To traduce, we all hope you'll do better next time...if it ever happens again though." Acacia added smiling, but it wasn't friendly, more like a mocking one.

"Thanks, sweetie. Well...Dear Father, we're coming to you today to express our appreciation to you. We thank you for the way you blessed us until now, we're really grateful. Thanks for waking up today, thanks for joining us safely and thanks for allowing us to put food on our table and to be able to greatly feed our big family. We thank you for putting us in each other life. If it wasn't for you, none of us would be surround with so much love and such beautiful people. And also thanks for blessing my Cora and Kalvin with an incredible gift. We love you. We always pray for asking you something and forget sometimes to thank you, so we're taking time now to THANK YOU LORD. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen." 

"Amen."

Now that they were full, it was time for a break before the dessert. Well, actually, some were at their third break since the beginning of the dinner, since they had filled their plate entirely like six times. There was a a comfortable silence reigning, until Latoya decided to break it. But honestly, she should've kept her mouth close.

"So...Halley, I want to know what it's going on between you and mister Terry over here."

Halley drank some wine, "I don't know what you're talking about. And you Terry ? "

He burped loudly causing some to chuckle and other to frown, "Sorry. No, I don't either."

Toya groaned, "Oh my ! Just say it, like damn ! I know Terry is giving you the dick, that's why you so damn happy, there is no other reason ! " She said, then gasped realizing the little mistakes she made.

The little Mikayla frowned a bit, "What is a dick, mummy ? " She asked with her cute voice turning her head towards Amy who was chocking on her water.

"Thanks so much, Latoya." Kaldrick said sarcastically looking at her like she had killed his dog. 

She shrugged innocently, "My bad bro." 

"So, what is it ? " The five years old insisted waiting for her explanation. 

Amy caught her breath back, but her heart was beating slightly too fast. What was she supposed to say ? She wasn't one of these people who can make up stories in less than one minute. She was a bad liar and couldn't help, but always say the truth. She didn't know what to do right now, "Uh...Well...First...Uh...It's...bad...Uh...Uh...To...Uh...Uh....It's bad to....Uh...Well..." She trailed off begging for help with her eyes looking at every person around the table. They were all searching something to tell her and that she will believe also. 

Fortunately, Kaldrick found something. He had never thought in his life that it was going to be the first sex conversation with his daughter though. He wasn't ready, "Well...It's bad to say that word, Mimi." He answered using the nickname he assigned her, of course, with her permission. And her was calling him, Kal bear. Since Amy introduced them to each other, they became real close. They got along really quickly and were already acting like a father and his daughter. Just that Mikayla still didn't know she was spending time no with one of her mother's close friends, but her biological father. She was going to find out real soon though. Christmas was coming and Kaldrick was anxious to let her know. 

Her frown deepened, "Why is it a bad word ? "

He sighed thinking he had put an end to the weird conversation. But he thought so wrong. Mikayla was a very curious child and it won't be that easy to make her forget the word that escaped Latoya's big mouth.

"Because if you said it, the monster will come to eat you." Terry came to the rescue. 

Her little eyes opened wide as she gasped scared now, "Oh no ! But...but, I didn't know." 

Terry shook his head, "I know. You can say it just one time, but if you say it just one more time, then he will come and he'll eat your head. So...it's better for you if you forget the word simply. Period. And act like we never had this convo, because if he knows that I warned you, then he'll come for me and will take me away. Do you want this to happen to me ? "

"NO ! " She raised her voice, "I don't want him to take you away, you're funny." She said then smiled. 

"That's good to know. So, just to see if you got it right. Which word can you not say ? " He asked to test her. 

"Dick ! " She responded immediately before to realize she should've not said it, "Oh no ! Mummy, the dick is coming to eat me ! " 

"Why did you even ask her that ? Are you stupid ? " Kaldrick questioned Terry who was laughing now, "That is not funny ! "

"That's not my fault. Kalvin and Cora stahp."

"Mummy, I don't want dick to take me ! You have to do something, I don't want to be eaten." And with this sentence, she caused all the adults to burst out laughing and it seemed like they couldn't stop.

"They keep wilding." Acacia mumbled to her brother using a word Terry taught them.

Almar nodded his head agreeing with her, "All the time."

"They're crazy." They then said in unison staring at them like they had lost their mind.

"Why are you laughing ? " Mikayla asked confused, "A monster is going to eat me and you are all laughing, that's not nice." She pouted crossing her arms angrily.

"Bruh, I can't anymore." Latoya and Terry said like they were twins themselves. 

                                                                   *** DING DONG ***

All of sudden, it got quiet and everybody was looking at each other wondering who it could be, "Lia ? "

She shrugged, "I don't know. We're already all here. I'm gonna see." 

"No, it's okay I got this." Kalvin stood up before her. At this time of the night it could be anybody, so they had to be careful.

He walked to the front door and before to open, it took the baseball bat in the closet in the entry. Then he opened revealing someone he didn't except to see since they weren't talking lately. He stared at her for a couple of minutes silently contemplating on the options he had. But which one should he pick ? He took a deep breath, "What are you doing here ? "

She looked down at her feet, then up at him smiling weakly, "I brought you something. We...usually get together for Thanksgiving and we planned to do this at Kalia's this year...I didn't forget. It's an apple pie." She answered handing the plate to him. A little smirk appeared in the corner of his lips. Apple pie was his and his siblings' favourite dessert since they were kids. 

"Thanks." 

She nodded her head, "You're welcome. Well...I'm going. And sorry for distur-"

"Kal, who is it ? " Kaldrick came with Kalia trailing behind him, "Mama ? What the fuck ?! " 

His little sister hit the back of his head, "Your language, idiot ! "

"Hey. I just came to bring the apple pie. I hope you're having fun. Uh...well, I have to go now." She turned oh her heels and started walking away, but suddenly she turned back around and walked back to her daughter's front door. She was feeling so bad since she wasn't communicating with her children anymore. She couldn't believe how far it went between them.

She sighed as she was getting nervous, "I'm sorry ! And I'm missing you crazily ! "

They were shocked, but extremely satisfied. It was unbelievable, "Can you repeat please ? I didn't hear the first time." Kaldrick was enjoying this moment and it wasn't the only one. For once, she was the one apologizing. For once, she was the one admitting being in the wrong. For once, they had won. It was new and strange though, they weren't used to it. 

Donya rolled her eyes, "Seriously ? " 

"Yes ! We were legally deaf for that first time, mummy Ryans." Terry said behind them being nosey. Actually, everybody had moved from the dining room and was now watching the scene.

She sighed again, "I am truly sorry. I was wrong for the way I acted. It was childish and uncalled for. I should've done better and be more supportive. It's just...I was very shocked and you're my babies...I guess, I didn't want you to grow faster than you already are. I know you're adults now, but once upon a time, you were just getting out of my belly. And...I was scared that...you ended by forgotten me with your new life and responsibilities. You three are all I have now...I'm sorry. I'm apologizing to all of you. And Cora, I'm so sorry to have disrespected you, I was being stupid."

Cora made her way through the little crowd and hugged her. Why holding grudge ? Life is too short for that. All she wanted was peace. Cameron was gone, so now she wanted to enjoy true happiness and she couldn't do it with that little war the Ryans were having with their mother.

They pulled away, "I forgive you."

"Aw, I misjudged you so bad. I'm really sorry. I don't deserve you forgiving me so quick."

"It's okay...we're...a family, right ? " She turned to the others and they agreed.

"Yeah, she's right. C'mon." Kalvin invited her inside.

"Yes ! Fam is complete now ! But we might have finished all the food mummy Ryans, so you know." Terry warned her beaming.

Kalia shook her head, "Why are y'all acting like it's your house though ? " She asked with an attitude.

"C'mon, Lia, chill ! What that man did to you ? Damn ! "

"T, shut up ! " She snapped at him, "Of course she can come, but it's my job to invite people in MY house. Anyways, welcome mama."

"It must be the best Thanksgiving we had until now." Almar commented happily.

Acacia grinned, "Yes ! And whoever disagrees is wack and their face look like a flat butt." She said making them laugh.

Cora shook her head, "Okaaaaaayyy, enough with the inappropriate language."
