{ The Next Morning | (9:23) }

"Why are you smiling so damn much, H ? " Latoya asked as the females were cooking. The guys were with the kids decorating Kalia's house and then it will be their turn to be in the kitchen as the girls will be settling the table and other things. Everybody was enjoying Thanksgiving and everybody had planned to spend the whole day nicely. What meant, no drama. 

"Is it against the law to be happy now ? " She answered with another question with her right hand on her right hip. 

Toya raised her hands in surrender, "Chill. I was just being nosey. I had never seen you in this state since...I can't even remember." Actually, she knew exactly when she'd seen her best friend that happy before and it was when she was with her ex-boyfriend, but she didn't want to bring the subject back on the table. It was unnecessary. Even if they argued a lot, Halley and Latoya cared a lot about each other. 

Halley rolled her eyes playfully, "I'm happy that's all." Suddenly, Terry walked in and went towards her, then wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and kissed her cheek making her blush. And he picked the scissors and left like nothing happened.

Then everybody in the kitchen turned towards Halley staring at her with an arched eyebrow, "I suggest we all drink some tea, that ain't none of our business." Kalia said after one entire minute of awkward silence. They all nodded and got a glass then poured it with whatever they wanted to drink.

This day will be more interesting than I thought, Cora commented in her mind.

(11:28 a.m)

"What is Kalia's surprise ? " Kaldrick asked as the men were now in the kitchen doing some pastry. That was them who had to take care of the desserts and also the appetizers. 

Kalvin shrugged, "We'll see. I hope it will good though." 

"What if it's mama ? "

Kalvin chuckled shaking his head, "It won't be her. Lia is more stubborn than us reunited. And you damn know it. Just wait."

Terry frowned a bit, "So, y'all are still not talking to your mother ? C'mon now guys, it's Thanksgiving."

"What's going on with your parents ? Why are they not here with us ? " Kalvin questioned changing the subject of conversation. He didn't want to talk about his mother today.

T sighed smiling, "They're back together. See, what happened was that they got in a huge argument and then my mother throw the divorce thing in the damn conversation and so Vik got mad and he went with it and then they decided to divorce, but then they became lovers again and they're not here because they're in London doing only God knows what. Ew ! "

The others laughed at his explanation, "You're always so extra. Anyways, I'm happy for mummy Daniels. And I know they're having fun out there."

"Kal, if you don't shut the fuck up. I'm NOT trying to think about this. Ew ! Ew ! Ew ! " They laughed and continued cooking until the doorbell suddenly rang getting all the persons' who were in the house attention. 

"My surprise is here ! " Kalia squealed excited and running to her front door. She took a deep breath and then opened it. Everybody was behind her being nosey. 

A good-looking white man with beautiful blue eyes and light brown short hair was standing there beaming. He was dressed simple, but it didn't prevent him to be attractive. All the guests were frowning wondering what he was doing here with that smile on his face. Was it the surprise ? 

Then something they weren't excepting happened. Kalia pecked the unknown man's lips, took his hand and led him inside. Now everybody had their mouth wide opened. Surprised ? Yes, they definitely were. Mainly Kaldrick and Kalvin.

"THE FUCK ?!! " The two brothers screamed at the same time shocked.

"Lia, when did you get a vanil- uh I mean, can you explain please ? I'm lost." Terry asked thinking he was seeing things now. Maybe he was really crazy. That's what he was wondering trying to figure out the situation.

Kalia closed the door grinning, "Well...Family, this is my boyfriend Louis Brekster. Louis, this is my family. Here my brothers Kaldrick and Kalvin. Here, my little brother from another set of parents, Terry and next to him this is Cora and here her children Almar and Acacia. Then it's my other brother form another mother and father also Nelson with his wife, Rhana. Here this is Cora's mother, Sasha and Sancy, Cora's sister with her boyfriend Yohann. This is Amy and my niece Mikayla. And then we have Halley and Latoya. And to really finish, Mama C." She introduced pointing to each one of them so he couldn't be confused.

"Him and I are together since one year now." She added wrapping her arms around his waist and he kissed the top of her head. 

"Heeeeey ! " They greeted in unison. 

"Glad to finally meet you. I heard a lot about you." 

"Well, we didn't even know you were born." Terry said causing Kalia to shoot him a dead glare. If look could kill, "Glad to meet you too." 

"Uh...well...if we...uh...we still have a lot to do. Guys take Louis with you." Cora said when she realized the atmosphere was getting weirder. She couldn't understand why they were all reacting like that. He was not an alien, but a human being like everybody else in the house. 

The guys nodded their head and motioned for the new guest to follow them in the kitchen. Now, it was just the women and...kids.

"All the persons who are under eleven years old can leave and go somewhere else, like upstairs. Thanks for your precious help children, but now you're hired." Sancy said looking at the twins and Mikayla.

The three sighed, "That doesn't even make sense, you weren't paying us." The words escaped from Acacia's smart mouth.

"Whatever, let's go watch a movie." Almar said and they left.

"What was that ?! " Kalia asked angrily, "I can't believe this ! "

"Sorry, we weren't ready for this. Shit, something was telling me you were messing around with someone, but I didn't know it was white chocolate." Latoya said being honest and making Kalia narrowed her eyes at her furiously, "Sorry. I had to say it at least one time." She apologized shrugging.

Halley shook her head, "I swear you must be another specimen. Anyways, I'm happy for you Kalia. I don't judge people because of their skin color like others." She throw shade looking at Latoya in purpose.

"I'm not judging ! I wasn't excepting it, that's all ! Kalia, I'm happy for you too, I was just...surprised. For a surprise, it was really one." 

"You know, Kalia, Latoya is nothing compared to other people who will try to ruin your life simply because you are with a white man and he's with a black woman. We're in the twenty-first century, but ignorant people still do exist and they're cruel. Are you really ready for it ? I mean, it's been one year you're dating the guy and nobody knew, what makes me think that you two never really went out there together." Sasha let her know how she really felt. 

Kalia bit on her lips, "Well..." She trailed off. 

Sancy raised her eyebrow, "So you were hiding your relationship ? " She asked curiously.

"You were too." Cora pointed out. 

"Yes, but it wasn't for the same reason. Yohann is a rich man and we don't need the whole world in our personal business. We're lucky, they still didn't catch us together. And you're lucky too. I was on this blog the other day an-"

"We're talking about someone else." Halley cut her off. 

"Oh yeah sorry. So ? "

Kalia sighed, "That's true. Y'all are the first one to have seen us together. We...One day we were at his home for a date and all of sudden his mother showed up and..." She paused licking her lips, "...To do short, she said some awful things...I don't even want to talk about it. Well, since that day...I mean...the world is improving every day for certain areas, but the mentality of some persons is just..." A single tear escape her right eye and she wiped it instantly, "We wanted to see if it was really meant to happen before to start to show off. I mean, it's nobody's business but us, but some people can be so judgmental and we didn't want to deal with all of this, before to be sure that we really want this relationship. Now we're ready."

She explained everything and they wrapped her in a big and warm hug, "It's gonna be alright."

"So...you're with our sister, huh ? " Kaldrick asked sitting down on a counter chair folding his arms.

Louis nodded slowly his head, "Yes and I love her. She's an exceptional and incredible woman. I'll see us in the future together." 

"Great...I guess. Are you living in Miami ? How old are you ? Did you already sleep with my sister ? If you hurt her, we will torture you and then kill you, and we won't feel remorse. At all. We're really not playing. You better behave ! Treat her like the queen she is. Just one mistake and I'll whoop your ass with a brick and then a knife and then I'll put a snake in your bed. Don't fucking try me, I'm a crazy motherfucker." Kalvin warned with serious eyes. 

"Yeah, everything she wants you to do, you just do it. Comprende ? No question. You just do it ! You better fucking respect her or I'll be your worst nightmare. Got it scooby doo ? " Terry added causing Louis to frown. 

"Scooby doo ? " He was confused. They were all. 

"Why are you calling him scooby doo nigga ? " Nelson asked looking at his friend. 

Terry shrugged, "Because I felt like it, my nigga."

"Are you doing all of this because I'm...white ? Is it a problem ? " Louis questioned a bit nervous and angry.

The four men stared at him and then burst out laughing, "You're white and so what ? Chill, you're not God. You're not that special. Nobody would care if you were purple. She's our sister, of course we were going to threaten you. Where are you living man ? " Kaldrick answered shaking his head.

"Sorry, but I doubt it a little." He tested them without them actually knowing it. 

"Why ? Because of our reaction earlier ? You can't blame us though ! We weren't excepting this, that's all." Kalvin said fanning him off, "But we have no problem. You're white, you're white. What do you want us to do about it ? "

"But some niggas out here will have some problems with that and I hope it won't change whatever you're living with my little sister." Kaldrick warned unfolding his arms. 

Louis scratched the back of his neck, "Don't worry about this. It didn't change anything in the past, so it won't in the future." He reassured them.

Nelson frowned a bit, "What do you mean exactly ? "

"To do short...my mom. We're not talking anymore by the way." He answered remembering the day she came at his home when him and Kalia were on a date cooking together. They were having fun until the mother ruined everything with her negativity. For some reason he couldn't forget all the horrible insults she throw at his girlfriend. Of course, he didn't just let his mother disrespect the woman he loves, so he cursed her out before to kich her out of his house. And since then, they were both acting like the other didn't exist. All of this happened eight months ago. He still couldn't believe that his own mother was a racist. All the respect he had once for her, had disappeared totally.

"Damn ! What with y'all and that not talking to my mama thing ? " Terry asked shaking his head disappointed, "Y'all need to stop that shit, man ! A mother, you just have one in your life. I know they fucked up, but seriously, I think you should all forgive them and move forward in your life. Y'all really want to be mad at the queen that gave you birth for the rest of your life ? " T was very close to his own mother, he couldn't see himself be in the same situation. He was a proud momma's boy and that since he was born. But don't get it twist, he wasn't one of these grown ass men who couldn't do shit without their mother's help or permission.

Kalvin rolled his eyes, "It's not because you gave birth to someone that you can treat them as you want. Like, I never asked to be born, I didn't force her, I'm grateful for what she'd done for me, but that doesn't give her an excuse to not respect me and hurt my feelings like I have none." 

Louis nodded his head agreeing, "Exactly ! I think I will never forgive her..or maybe in a very long time. Nope. What she did..." He sighed, "...She was a monster. What she said and the way she behaved was really inhuman. She was horrible to Kalia and myself."

Kaldrick raised his eyebrow, "What did she do ? "

"Hey, I'm not in good terms with her, actually I'm extremely mad at her, but I don't want you to kill her either. Let's just drop the subject." 

The four men looked at each other and then shrugged, "Okay. Well, we're not welcoming you in the family just yet, because you have to prove to us that you're the best man for our sister, but we're giving you a little chance." Kalvin smiled and held his hand out for Louis to shake it and he did smiling back. 

"You guys better be cooking or it's over for your ass ! " They heard Latoya from the living room. They laughed, but obeyed. 

"This woman is beyond crazy."
