≈Miami, FL...

(7:34 p.m) 

Hours since they started searching her and they still had nothing. They were all worried and hoping to find her as soon as possible. But where did he take her ? None of them really knew Cameron to know where to start. Nobody except Cora, but they hadn't been in contact since ten whole years. And even when they were together, she didn't really know what he was doing when he was out without her. 

She was furious and determined to find her baby. She kept praying asking God to protect her little angel. She was hoping that he didn't hurt Acacia yet. But knowing him...

"Are you okay ? " Kalvin asked with his eyes focused on the road. They had separate in groups to have more chance. Nelson called two of his friends, who were policemen and they went to search info towards the street gangs, prostitutes and drug dealers. Sancy called her boyfriend, Yohann and they went with Sasha searched Acacia in town. Kaldrick, Kalia, Roger and Francesca went in town also, since it was big just for one group. Halley, Latoya, Terry and a couple of the teammates who generously proposed their help went in the hood out of the city towards the highway. And finally, Kalvin, Cora and Almar were searching in the neighbourhood. They thought that maybe Cameron wasn't as far as they believed and was closer. Every hour, they called each other to give some news. In addition to their big group, the cops were also trying to find her.

She slowly nodded her head, "I have to be strong." She answered turning her face to check on Almar in the backseat. The young boy fell asleep and looked so peaceful, it was making her feel a bit better.

Kal sighed shaking his head, "I don't understand though. We're searching everywhere, we're like more than thirty people looking around the city and we still have nothing. Man, I though he was more stupid than that." He was trying to keep calm, but it wasn't that easy. Inside him, the rage was boiling like lava in a volcano.   

"I know...But we have to keep faith...It's going to be alright, right ? " She could feel the tears coming again. She was tired to cry, but she couldn't help it and let the water fall. 

The car stopped at a red light and then Kalvin saw her crying silently. He didn't like to see her like that, it was breaking his heart. He instantly started wiping the single teardrops away with his thumb, but there were always others that followed just behind. 

"Cora, I'm sure she's fine." He said to reassure her. 

She sniffed and turned her head towards him, "And if she's not ? He's crazy and I'm sure that the fact that she is his daughter won't change a thing. When he wants to hurt someone, he will do it. He doesn't care about anybody's feeling, except his. Sometimes..." More tears ran on her cheeks, "He can act so heartless. He did it with me. He's a horrible person." To hear her say those things, were scaring him more than anything else. 

Suddenly they heard a growl. It was coming from a stomach, "Did you eat today ? " 

She shook her head, "Sorry. I hadn't the occasion since the breakfast this morning. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to starve the baby." 

"I know. Look, we're gonna eat real quick and after that we'll continue to search her." He said and then drove them somewhere to feed their bodies. 

When he entered in the coffee bar, Mama C ran to him and hugged him so tightly, he was almost suffocating. She was shaken by the situation, "I can't believe it. How are you ? Who did that ? Do you need something ? " 

"We're good." He simply said, "Uh...Mama C, it's Cora, Cora, this is mama C." He then introduced the two women. 

"Oh ! Nice to meet you. You're...Uh...Acacia's mother ? " She asked remembering everything Terry and Kalvin told her when they stopped by with the twins during the weekend. 

Cora just nodded her head. Mama C felt so bad. She hadn't had kids on her own and didn't know what it felt like to have a child missing, but it wasn't preventing her to support Cora. She knew it was a hurtful situation, but just not how much it was. 

She hugged Cora, "If you need my help, anything, just let me know and I will gladly do it." She met Acacia once, but she was very concerned.

"Thanks, I appreciate it." Cora said after they pulled away, "Do you have cookies ? " 

Mama C smiled a bit, "Yes." Then she turned her attention towards Almar, "And you ? What do you want ? " 

He shrugged and went to sit down at a table in the back. He wasn't saying much since his sister's missing. He was the one who noticed that she was taking way too long in the bathroom. At first, he couldn't believe that it was really happening, but now he only wanted his twin back. He wanted to hear her voice, to know that she was alright, to laugh with her, argue stupidly with her, to make joke together, he wanted to see his best friend. It hasn't been one entire day, but he was missing his sister like crazy. 

Cora started at him for a moment. She could read the hurt and sadness writing on his little face, "Where is the bathroom ? " She asked on the verge to break down. Mama C's heart broke into pieces. She took her hand and led her behind the counter to talk with her. 

Kalvin sighed scratching his head and then sat across from Almar, "Are you okay ? " The young boy didn't answer, instead he looked out of the window with his hands shoved in his dark blue jean jacket pockets, "Whenever you decide to talk, know that I'm here to listen." He informed him being sincere. 

Then a silence settled down between them.

"I hate him ! " He finally blurted out. Suddenly, he began to feel nothing else in his heart, but pure anger. Kalvin frowned. He wasn't supposed to know who has done it. Almar noticed his face expression and now he was pissed off, "I'm not an idiot ! You did warn us about him and now this it's happening. You don't have to be Einstein to put the pieces together ! I hate him ! And if he dares to hurt my sister, I'm going to ki-"

"Hey ! Calm down. Almar, I know it's not easy, but please calm down." He knew what he was going to say and he couldn't allow that. The kid was only ten. Mainly that he looked so pissed off. It was like at any moment he was going to lose it and make explode everything around him. 

"Calm down ? I don't want to calm down ! I'll calm down when I'll know that my sister is safe ! Don't tell me what I have to do, Kalvin, you're NOT my father ! "

Why did he feel a bit offended though ? 

"I know. Damn ! I'm just trying to help. You didn't have to say that, I know who I am."

"Cool, so shut up please and thank you ! " And with that said he stood up and got out to have a break. He was tired of everybody looking at him with that pity in their eyes. He was tired of everybody asking him if he was fine. But who would be ? Of course, he wasn't okay ! Why would he be okay in that kind of predicament ? Usually, Almar was quiet and just chilling, but today he was a total different person. He wanted revenge.

"Where is Almar at ? " Cora asked coming towards the table. She just had a quick conversation with Mama C, who showed her her support and reassured her a little. 

"Outside. He needed some fresh air." He answered rolling his eyes. 

"What happened ? " 

"Nothing. At all. Can we eat now ? "

"What's wrong ? " She insisted noticing how annoyed he was all of sudden. He wasn't in this state a couple of minutes ago. 

He sighed getting frustrated, "Nothing ! I just told you, damn ! " 

She frowned, "You better lower your voice, Kalvin. I don't know who you think you are, but you got it wrong if you thought you can talk to me like that. If you don't want to help anymore, then just go, nobody is forcing you to stay."

What in the fucking hell ? He couldn't believe it, "What the fuck, Cora ?! How can you say that ?! What's wrong with you ?! " 

"Lower your voice ! " 

He stood up abruptly and got in her face, "And if I don't, what are you gonna do ?! Huh ?! Tell me ! "

She brought her face closer to him ready to fight if she had to, "You better close your mouth, before I make you regret your existence ! Don't talk to me like that ! "

"You better shut the fuck before I really get angry ! I'm sure you don't want to see it ! "

"What ?! Are you going to hit me ?! That's what you're saying, huh ?! I dare you to do it ! I fucking dare you ! " 

"Y-"

"HEY ! " Mama C interrupted looking at them like each one had three heads. Fortunately, there were not a lot of customers at this time, "Did you two lose your mind ? What's going on ? "

"Go away." Cora said through greeted teeth and ignoring Kalvin's old friend.

"Co-"

She cut Mama C off immediately, "No ! I want him out of my kids and I's lives. I will not allow it. I will not allow that behavior. Not again. Just go. Bye, Mr.Ryans, have a nice day ! " She said not once breaking eye contact with him. Was she really serious ?

He was confused, "What ? The fuck ?! No ! You're carrying my baby, Cora ! "

"Don't worry, I'll make sure to send you the papers, so you'll pay the child support. Bye ! "

"Can y'all calm down ? Please." Mama C tried to ease the tension as Almar was coming back inside.

"Are you fucking crazy ? You can't keep MY child away from me ! " He was so lost right now. Why was she saying that ? He couldn't get out of her life. No, it was impossible, they had a baby on its way.

She nodded her head as her eyes were watering, "I'll do anything for my children to be safe and if for that I have to keep the baby away from you, I'll do it ! "

He shook his head in disbelief, "What are you talking about ? I will never hurt my kid ! And nor Acacia neither Almar ! I'm not violent ! " He shouted getting more irritated.

"Oh really ? Were you not about to hit me about two minutes ago ? " She asked furiously.

He wiped his face trying to appease his nerves, "I...I was angry. It was hard today and I-"

"And what ?! "

"I didn't meant it ! I wasn't and will never put my hands on you. My parents didn't raise me like that. I will never beat a woman or children."

"Someone told me that one day and then he hurt me. How can I know that you're not a liar too ? " Atrocious memories were running through her mind. She couldn't let this happen again. The way he was talking to her, the way he got angry so fast and was getting in her face, she already lived all of this and instead of going, she stayed. It's what happened in the past, but now, now it was different. She wasn't going to allow another man to cause her pain. And she had innocent children to protect also.

"Cora, I w-"

She raised her hand to stop him shaking her head, "Conversation over. Bye, Kalvin. Almar, c'mon, we're going." She took her son's hand and in less than twenty seconds, they were out of the coffee bar.

Kalvin believed that he was hallucinating right now. The day was getting worse and worse as the minutes were passing by. It was like he was in one of his nightmare. He wished he could simply wake up and everything will be behind him. But it was reality.

Mama C hit his arm to get him out of his trance, "What are you waiting for ? It's dark outside, they can't walk around town all by themselves." He sighed and ran outside, then in his car, so he could catch up on them faster.  

"Fuck you Cameron."
