(3:05 p.m)

It had been another long day of school for the twins. They were tired and wanted only one thing. What meant to get home and eat a snack before the TV. Then they'll have to do their homework, but it wasn't their problem for the moment. They needed to relax after all these hours of listening to boring teachers. 

Acacia and Almar got out of school with the others kids and then went towards the parking lot, expecting to see their aunt Latoya's car, but it wasn't there. They looked around and couldn't see her. It was strange. Usually she was never late. Maybe there was a lot of traffic. It was the only explanation possible for them. Acacia was not a person of patience, so she was already getting irritated. Almar yawned wondering how long they were going to wait.

"Where is she at ? " Acacia asked angrily.

Her brother shrugged sitting on the bench, "I don't know."

She sighed sitting next to him, "If only mummy bought us a phone like all the others kids." She stated shaking her head. Cora thought a phone wasn't necessary for two ten years old kids. They already had a lot of technology in their lives according to her opinion. She didn't care if all the mothers were buying their children an IPhone, she wasn't them.

Suddenly a black and new McLauren stopped before them. The windows were tinted, so they couldn't see who it was. Then a tall and muscular black man got out of the car with a smile on his face. The twins loved how it was dressed. It was simple, but cool. He had the new white Jordans at his feet and he was wearing a black t-shirt with ''Ain't Nobody Got Time For Dat'' on it with black true religion pants. Around his left wrist , he had a new black Rolex. His hair was cut perfectly, the waves were fresh and very well done. Almar wanted to know how he got all of this, because he wanted it too and Acacia was focused on his two dimples. But then a question crossed both of their minds at the same time:

1) Who was this man ?

2) Why was he walking towards them ? 

He looked quickly something on his phone and then pulled it back in his pocket, "Hey ! I'm Kalvin...Uh...A friend of your mother. I'm here to pick you up." He said slowly. 

The two kids raised their eyebrow, "Why should we believe you ? " Acacia asked folding her arms. 

"Because it's true." Kalvin answered in a ''duh'' tone.

"But you can still be a liar." She insisted looking at him up and down.

"I'm not." He said and then pulled his phone out. He dialed a number and waited for the person to answer. After three rings, there was someone else at the end of the line. He talked with the person for two minutes and then passed the phone to Acacia.

She frowned, but put it on her ear, "A, baby, it's mummy." She heard her mother's voice.

She smiled immediately, "Mum ! How are you ? "

"I'm good and you ? Is Almar with you ? How was school ? " She attacked her with questions.

"Almar and I are fine. School was school. But...Uh...Who is this man ? And where is auntie Toya ? "

"Auntie couldn't come and there was nobody else. You're going to stay with Kalvin until I'm done with this meeting. I think it won't be too long. Please, be nice with him. Okay, well, I have to go. Love you." And with that said she hung up.

Acacia gave him back his phone, "Almar, mummy said we have to go with him. She has an important meeting." She said, but was staring at Kalvin.

Almar nodded his head and made his way towards the car. He checked it quickly and then got comfortable in the McLaren. His sister sighed loudly and joined him.

Kalvin was slightly nervous. He was hoping that everything will go smoothly with the kids. For the moment, it seemed to be alright, but he wasn't trusting the little girl. He felt like she was about to do something. He knew that she was maybe going to put him in trouble, but he wasn't going to let her do it. The boy wasn't worrying him though. He looked like a chill kid. But Kalvin could be wrong. This was definitely a mission for him.

"So...when do you want to go ? " He asked turning around to face them.

"Normally, this type of cars don't have backseats." Almar said looking at the interior design.

"Oh...yes, I know, but I got this car customized."

Almar nodded his head, "I want an ice cream."

"Me too...By the way, there is this place where we're going with grandma sometimes. Can we go ? " Acacia intervened in the conversation beaming, "It's not too far."

"Oh okay. Do you know exactly how to get there ? " Kalvin asked starting the engine.

"Yes ! " Acacia responded enthusiastic. Almar narrowed his eyes at his sister. What was she talking about ?

"What are you doing ? " He whispered in her ear, so Kalvin couldn't hear him.

"Shh. I got this, don't worry."

"Don't worry ? What's in your mind ? " His sister didn't answer to him leaving him anxious.

After forty-five minutes, the trio finally arrived somewhere. None of them knew where they were though. There was nothing around, except a little gas station. Kalvin sighed and stopped the car, "Where are we ? There is no restaurant here. What are we doing here ? "

The twins shrugged, "You're the driver." They said in unison.

Kalvin suddenly felt stupid. They played him and now they were lost. And the gas was low, so he decided to refuel the tank. Once he was done, he told the kids to stay in the car while he was going to pay, "Do yall need something ? Are you hungry ? " He questioned them annoyed.

They shook their heads, "Okay, I'm back in a couple of minutes."

"Wait ! " He stopped closing the door, "Can I get a hot-dog, please ? Almar wants one too. Both with mustard. Thank you." Kalvin nodded his head and left them.

"Now, tell me ! " Almar said knowing his sister was up to something.

She smirked, "I don't even know myself. But, let me tell you, this man thought wrong if he thought we were going to be best friends. He came from nowhere ! Mummy never made us meet him before, but all of sudden he comes and picks us up from school ? Something is not right."

He couldn't help but agreeing, "Okay, you're right on this one. Mummy had never done this before. It's weird."

"I know. I am always right." She said being cocky.

He shook his head, "Shut up ! And you better stop whatever you planned. Knowing you, nothing will end good."

She rolled her eyes, "Well, you don't know me too well then, lil bro. I told you I got everything under control. Why are you on his side anyways ? "

He sighed, "You know what, do you, but when you'll get in trouble, DO NOT put me in this with you. I'm the nice twin anyway and mummy knows it." He said still shaking his head.

His sister shrugged and looked out the window, then she saw a homeless man sitting near the road with a plastic glass next to him. She thought for one minute and suddenly an idea came to her crazy mind. She could be very creative when she wanted to. She got out the car and walked towards the stranger.

"Hey, lil beauty." He greeted her nicely.

She grinned, "Hey ! Can I ask you a question ? Well, a second one since I already did this." He nodded his head smiling at her, "Do you know how to start a car without the keys ? " She asked with her hands on her hips.

Once again he nodded, "I learned it when I was young. Oh the youth ! " 

"Cool ! Well, what if I tell you that I have a car for you ? "

He frowned a little, "You ? But how ? " 

"Come with me." She motioned for him to follow her, what he did. 

"What are you doing ? Oh my ! " Almar exclaimed seeing the homeless man behind his twin. He didn't know what she was doing, but he didn't like it. Why was Kalvin not there yet ? 

"This is a new friend. Oh..what's your name ? " She asked curiously.

"Randy." 

"Well, Randy it's your new car. Do you like it ? " 

"Yes ! It's really beautiful. Are you sure I can have it ? Maybe it's too much." Randy lost his job three years ago and after that, everything in his life got taken away from him. Now, it had been one year and a half since he was living in the streets. It wasn't as rough as he thought for the moment and today was a lucky day for him. 

Acacia shook her head, "No, it's perfect for you. C'mon, just take it. Almar, get out." She ordered giving him a serious look. 

"No." He refused wondering why she wanted to give a car that wasn't hers to someone she didn't know. Where was Kalvin at ?

"Almar, we're doing a great action by giving him the car. Believe me, it's not a crime what we're doing." She tried to convince him. 

Her brother looked at the man who was preoccupied by the design. It seemed like he liked it. It looked like a happy kid in a candy store. He didn't want to get that genuine smile off his face. Almar sighed, took his belongings and handed her backpack to his sister, then got out of the car. They receded a bit, letting Randy got comfortable in the McLaren. He tampered some wires and all of sudden, the engine began to make some noise. Randy closed the door. It'd been awhile since he drove for the last time, but it was like the bike, you never forget how to ride it. The twins waved at him and soon he was gone.

"Kalvin is going to kill us." Almar said already scared. 

"If he does it, mummy will make him regret it and he'll have failed the test."

Almar raised his eyebrow, "The test ? What ? " He questioned completely lost.

"In some kind of situations people show their true face, we're about to see Kalvin's, so we'll know if he'll stay in our lives...or nah."

Kalvin was searching something to eat, when he finally found a Nestle Crunch chocolate bar. He took two others for the kids, since there were not hot-dogs. Then he went to pay for the gas and snacks. The line wasn't long, but the four persons that were before him took twenty minutes all together. It was because two older women talked with the cashier for a couple of minutes that seemed to be years. 

Finally it was his turn and he didn't waste his time. He paid and left. He was hoping the kids weren't too bored and alright. Once he was outside, he looked for his car, but it wasn't where he left it. He blinked a couple of times, thinking he wasn't seeing clearly maybe, but the car never reappeared. He immediately started worrying about Acacia and Almar. Someone stole his car and his baby mama's children. Cora was going to kill him ! 

He began to panic with a lot of questions and crazy scenarios running in his head. He dropped the bag with the snacks on the ground and got his phone to call the police. But then he saw the twins standing there like nothing was wrong. 

He ran towards them, "Hey, what happened ? Where is my car ? Are you okay ? " 

They stayed quiet. 

"Are you okay ? " He asked again. 

Then there was a dead silence between them. Kalvin was wondering what was going on with them. Did the robber hurt them ? What did they see ? What had happened ? And where was his car at ? He worked hard to have it and now it had disappeared. Now, why a man would steal a car and let the witnesses alive ? Because Kalvin would never do this if he was a robber, but then they were only kids. But they looked to be very alright and not shocked, like the car not being there anymore was totally normal. Like it had not been robbed.

"Okay, I'm gonna ask one more question and this time you better answer to it." He warned bending his eyes at the same level as theirs, "What. Happened. To. My. Car ? " He asked through clenched teeth.

Acacia's look was passive, but Almar's was elusive, so Kalvin made an intense and intimidating eye contact with him. Almar was starting to sweat. He had never liked to lie to people. He wasn't born for it like his sister. He was too honest to do this. Sometimes he wished he wasn't like this though, "It's her fault ! " He cracked under pressure. 

Acacia pinched his arm, "You ! " Then she pushed him, what caused her sibling to push back.

"It was your idea ! " He continued to accuse.

"How can you betray your own blood like that ? " She pushed him again and next thing you know, they're fighting on the ground arguing at the same time.

Kalvin rolled his eyes and separated them, "Shut up and stop that ! " He yelled and they calmed down, "I can't believe this ! Where is my car now ? " 

"Well...maybe...we gave it to someone..." Acacia mumbled avoiding his angry glare. Now, she was a bit afraid of him. He looked very pissed off. 

Kalvin couldn't believe what he was hearing, "WHAT ?! " He screamed causing both children to startle, "YOU GAVE MY FUCKING CAR TO SOMEONE ?!! ARE YOU CRAZY ?!!! " 

"Please, don't hurt us. My sister didn't know what she was doing. Forgive us ? " Almar said trying to smooth the situation.

"We...DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE WE ARE ! AN-" He stopped and took a deep breath, "What are we gonna do now ? "

"Hey, you're the adult." Acacia said smartly.

Cora was finally done with the meeting and everything was good. Her business was going well and she was happy to know that. She instantly called Kalvin to let him know so he could bring the kids to her, but he wasn't answering. She tried like hundred times, but she never had a result. But all of sudden she got a text message from him telling her to meet them at her house.

She was relieved.

She gave some instructions to her employees and left the club to meet up with Kalvin and her children. She was hoping that everything went well. But she knew her kids were nice, so why would there be a problem ? She was sure the three went all along and the twins were going to take the news well. She had to think positively. She didn't want this situation to be a source of tension in her babies' lives.

The drive until her house took as usual. After a couple of minutes, she finally arrived in her driveway. Kalvin and the kids were not there yet. She entered in and went in the kitchen to pour herself a glass of water. Then she searched a packet of cookies and finally found one. That's what she was craving for for now. Cookies. And she was always mixing them with something else. Last time was mustard and she wanted whipped cream with that this time. She ate it peacefully thinking about a good approach to get to the subject with the twins.

They were used to be only the three of them. No man was in their lives. Her father was the only man they had ever trusted. And the fact that their mother was going to have their little sibling with a stranger. They had never met Kalvin before and then boom it was in their lives. Everything they were used to was going to change. She didn't want it to disturb them.

She yawned feeling her eyes closing. She went in the living room and laid on the couch, then fell asleep.

Three hours had passed by when the doorbell rang frantically. Cora woke up startling. She rubbed her eyes and checked the time. It was already 7:45 p.m. What meant that she was going to be late and couldn't be there for the opening tonight at the club. What were they doing ?

She stood up and went to answer the door. She opened it and instantly was faced with a pissed off Kalvin, "He-"

"Take these monsters back ! " He said rudely as the twins entered the house.

Cora frowned. "Wh-"

"They gave my car, my fucking car to someone and we had to walk until here ! We didn't even know where we were ! Fortunately God led us ! I don't want to see them again ! From now, we're talking only when it's about our baby ! Bye ! " And with that said he walked away mad. 

Cora didn't understand why he was so angry and he said all of this. She was shocked and speechless. She wanted to know what happened to them for him to act this way. She replayed his words in her mind, but shook her head not believing it. Her children would never do that. Why would they do that for in the first place ? He was surely lying. It was just the story of her life. No man will ever treat her good. It was simply a dream.

"Mum, what was he talking about ? Who is having a baby ? "
