4| "Who Hurt You Skyler Elizabeth?"

<Skyler's POV>

I wake up in a bed squished up against Dallas's bare chest. "Dallas!" I yell to wake him up. His hair whips and his eyes shoot open.

"What?" He asks with an annoyed voice. I giggle at his hair because it is sticking up on his head, but I quickly cover up my happiness with a straight face.

"Can you release your arm from my waist so I can get dressed and leave," I ask wiggling in his arm. I try to get out of his grasp, but every time I try to get away his arm grips tighter.

"Not until you keep your promise," he says. It takes me a moment to remember that I promised I'd tell him something more about me each time we saw each other.

"I already did, I told you my last name, remember?" I ask. He shakes his head.

"That doesn't count, that's just a name, I want information about you not your name," he says. I sigh in defeat.

"Fine, I'm living in an abandoned house by myself."

"Why?" He asks bringing his face closer to mine.

"Because I ran."

"From who?"

"Someone who hurt me."

"Who hurt you Skyler Elizabeth." I sigh at his persistence.

"Myself." I say. He looks at me. Tears form in my eyes, but do not fall.

"Why?" He asks, moving closer to me if that's even possible.

"I had no one Dallas, no parents, no friends, no boyfriend," I tell him.

"How did you hurt yourself?" Dally asks, his brown eyes not leaving my own eyes.

"I didn't mean to Dallas." I say, a few tears make it over the rim of my eyes.

"What did you do?" He pressures.

"It was a cowardice act."

"What did you do?" He repeats harsher than last time. His hands grips my wrist. I start to tear up more.

"Your hand is covering the remnants of my acts," I say, crying forcefully now, making unattractive noises through my heavy tears. I remember the switch blade moving swiftly across my wrist. My parents had died. My friends left me because I started to get mean. I was better off dead where I couldn't hurt anyone's feelings.

Dallas's hand grabs my chin and pulls my face towards his. "Don't you ever pull a stunt like that again."

"I promise nothing." He sighs at my answer.

"Why are you here, in Tulsa?" I start to stop crying and answer his question.

"After I cut myself I almost died, but somehow I didn't so instead I started smoking more, doing drugs and drinking myself to sleep, so to get away from that I ran here where I thought life would be better for me," I explain. He pulls away from me.

"Get dressed." Dallas says getting up. His naked body runs around the room grabbing his clothes.

"What? Why?" I ask still covering myself with the bed sheets.

"Because, we are going to make you happy," he says, throwing my shorts at my face.

"We?"

"The gang and I stupid," he explains. I eye him confused. Once he's turned away I get dressed. He leads me out of Buck's and onto the street.

"Where are we going?"

"The place where dreams come true," he says sarcastically, waving his hands.

"Mickeys house?" I ask.

"No, we're going to the Curtis' house of coarse."

<Christina's POV>

I wake up next to Soda in the park. We lay on top of the picnic blanket still with the untouched food around us. His bright blue eyes are open already.

"Morning beautiful," he says. I start to worry.

"Soda did we?" I ask.

"No, I stopped you before you could pull my pants down," he says smirking. I slap him on the shoulder.

"Really?"

"Ya, you drank pretty much all the beer I brought and were pretty drunk." I start to blush. I'm such an idiot when I'm drunk. We start to pick up all of the food and blanket and drive home in a comfortable silence.

When we walk in the house I see the person I had hoped I'd see again. The girl Dally saved stands next to Dally in the Curtis living room.

"Ah, you two are finally home, speaking of which where the hell were you?" Dally pressures walking up close to Soda.

"Fell asleep at the park, all clothes on Dal," Soda says smiling. Dally pats him on the shoulder and walks back to the girl.

"Alright Skyler, that's my little sister Chris and one of my buddies Sodapop," Dally says. I wave and offer a smile. Skyler just nods her head at us. "These are the rest of my buddies, Darry and Ponyboy over there are Soda's brothers and the one over there eating the cake is Steve, Soda's best friend, the one glued to the TV screen watching Mickey is Keith, or Two-Bit rather, and the one sitting on the couch is my very good buddy Johnny," Dally explains everyone's names. Skyler just keeps nodding her head. It's almost like she doesn't want to get to close. I walk up to her.

"It's nice to have another girl around here," I say sticking a cancer stick in my mouth.

"Oh, you won't be seeing much of me," she says. Then she turns to Dally. "You two don't look alike."

"Well she's the most important thing in the world to me so looks don't really matter," Dally answers and kisses my forehead.

"Ahh I see, the famous bad boy Dallas Winston has a soft side for his sister," she says. I roll my eyes.

"Please ain't nobody mess with my brother," I exclaim.

"Well that's good to know, but what I really want to know is why the hell I'm here," Skyler says once again looking at Dally.

"Because we are going to give you the time of your life, Darry start up your truck, this girl is about to experience true happiness," Dally commands. We all squish into Darry's truck with me on Soda's lap.

"Well hey there Chris," he whispers in my ear.

"Hi Soda," I say. Turning my head back, my lips connect with his. We kiss softly until Dally coughs, I pull away. "So Dal, where are we going?" I ask, trying to avoid an argument with him over weather or not Soda and I should be able to kiss.

"Maybe I'll tell you if you don't kiss Soda in front of me again," he demands. I huff out a breath of air.

"Aw, come on Dallas, they're just kissing it's not like they're stripping down," Skyler exclaims. She winks at me and whispers, "don't worry honey, I'm on your side." I smirk at Dally and he heaves in defeat.

"Well I wouldn't mind if you stripped down."

<Skyler's POV>

"Well I wouldn't mind if you stripped down," Two-Bit says, moving closer to me. He tries to put his arm on my leg, but Dally pulls me closer to him by my waist.

"Cut it out Keith," he says. Two-Bit chuckles.

"Dally's got a girlie," he repeats this over and over in a song like tone. Dally's hand is still on my waist and it's giving me shivers. We can't be a thing. I'll only break his heart.

"Dallas your hand is still on my waist," I whisper in his ear.

"Well you aren't moving it are you," Dally shoots back. That's when I realize, I do like his hand on my waist. I would of taken his hand in mine right that second, but Soda cut off the moment.

"So Dally, where are we going?" Dally smiles and looks at me.

"Well, first we go to the Dingo for an early lunch, then we drive around town to show Skyler the streets, then we watch the sunset, that was Ponyboy's request by the way, then we go to the nightly double and after that I leave Skyler at your house so she isn't staying in the old abandoned house of hers." I was okay with everything on that list until it reached the end. I can't stay at the Curtis' house. if I'm there to long I might get attached to the people there. I can't become close with these people.

"Uh, that won't be necessary, I'll just go home," I tell Dally.

"Fine by me as long as we watch the sunset," Ponyboy says. We all laugh a little. Darry stops the car in front of a small building. Dally leads us inside and winks at the hostess when we walk in. I roll my eyes at him.

"What?" He asks innocently.

"Oh nothing," I lie. The hostess leads us to a large table where we all sit. As we wait for the waitress to take our orders I look at the group. Chris and Soda whisper among themselves. To bad I can't have a relationship like that. Steve and Two-Bit are having and argument that results in Two-Bit chuckling after Steve rolls his eyes. Darry stares constantly at the menu criticizing his every choice as Ponyboy watches him and forces him to pick something while Johnny tells Ponyboy it's better off to leave him alone. After much observation I realize, these kids aren't perfect, but they have each other, and that's all that matters to them.

"You could be a part of us you know," Dally whispers, realizing that I have been watching them with envy.

"You see Dallas that's exactly it, I can't be a part of you guys," I say smirking and looking up at him.

"And why is that?" He asks.

"Because, ya'll are so happy and if I got involved with you the only outcome would be negative," I explain. He just gives me a death glare for a second before his normal face returns.

"Does that mean we can't have sex again?" When he asks this I want to punch him in the face, but I hold back and breathe. Use your words, I tell myself. Okay I can do that.

"Your an asshole Dallas Winston," I tell him.

"I've been told," he says smirking. I just punch his shoulder as the waitress reaches our table and starts to take our order. When she leaves I realize Dally didn't flirt with her. I'm not the only one who realized either.

"Wow Dally, are you sick? You didn't even wink at her," Steve exclaims. Dally just smiles and looks at me. I quickly glance away out the window.

After we've eaten, Darry fills the gas tank and by Dally's instructions we drive around town. Darry is driving while the rest of us sit in the back of his pick up truck.

I sit next to Dallas, still not quite comfortable with everyone else. Dally points to roads and shops and explains every detail about them. His mouth moves at a rapid pace. After about an hour, I stop listening and just watch him talk. He seems so happy that he can explain all about this place. Like he wants to show off Tulsa as if it's Hollywood. Tulsa truly is beautiful despite its small economy. It has this 'at home' feel to it. I start to tune back into what Dally is saying.

"And that over there is the lot that we like to hang out in sometimes and that's-"

"Dallas, how do you know so much about this place?" I ask cutting him off.

"You can flip this town upside down and I'd still know where to go, I've walked these streets a thousand times." I nod my head at his response.

By the time we have driven on every street in Tulsa it's just about sundown. "Alright Ponyboy, where is the best place to watch a sunset?" Dally asks. Ponyboy shrugs.

"Anywhere really," Ponyboy explains. Dally mumbles something along the lines of 'that's not helpful.'

"How bout the lot?" Johnny suggests. Dally throws his arms around the boys shoulders.

"What a great idea Johnny, Darry, you heard the man drive," Dally demands. I smirk at his wanting to make me happy. Steve notices me smirking, and walks moves closer to me.

"Uh-oh, little tough girl got a crush," he whispers, audible for only me ears.

"Oh please," I lie. He just laughs quietly.

"He does like you, ya know? Never treats a girl like this," Steve says. I think for awhile.

"Alright that's enough fun talk for you, now go attack your best buddy, or whatever it is you do," I demand. Steve smiles widely.

"I will," he says to me, then in a sing song voice says, "oh Sodaaa." After this follows a glance from Soda as Steve playfully punches Soda's face. Christina breaks out laughing and Steve smiles and high fives Chris as Soda rubs his sore cheek.

Idiots.

When we get to the lot we all sit near each other and wait for the flash of colors that Ponyboy loves.

I wonder if this whole sunset crap is as great as Pony says it is. I doubt it.

A/N

Ayeee! Another chapter done! Hope you liked the little insight on Skyler's past! I'm going to try to fit more stuff between Christina, Soda, and Dally into the next chapter. IDK we'll see what happens.
By the way I just watched like seven 80's movies and I'm crying...help.
