Attached the 'mid story' trailer on this chapter even though I meant to put it on the last chapter I posted but I forgot because I'm an idiot.

"So then she starts talking about phosphors and the key having chemicals on it, right? And so that made me think of the chemistry closet and the fact that someone had to let Barrow in-" Stiles paused standing in front of the board. "It's gone" he said in shock. "Okay, it doesn't matter though. It doesn't matter. I've still got the key"

He ran over to the storage door and started fumbling to find the key.

"What the hell? I had it I had it here.
I had it here this morning, I swear to God, I had it this morning"

"The key you were talking about last night?" I asked.

"Yeah, I showed it to you, right? Didn't I show it to you?"

"No, you just told me about it. I never actually saw it" Scott said.

"Me neither" I added.

"I was here a couple of hours ago. And the message left to Barrow spelling Kira's name was right there on the board in my handwriting and I had the key to the chemistry closet" Stiles said.

"So you unlocked the chemistry closet so Barrow could hide in it from the cops and then you wrote him a message to kill Kira?" I asked my brother with a frown.

"I know how it sounds but look at this-" He pulled out a newspaper. "This is the news report that came out about Barrow when they caught him, okay. About the shrapnel bomb that he used. See this? See what he did? He put nuts, bolts and screws. And then he hid the bomb and the detonator in a box that he wrapped as a birthday present. What does that sound like to you?"

Scott opened his mouth and closed it again in shock. "Coach" he said. "The joke we played on Coach"

"That was my idea. You remember? That was my idea. That's no coincidence. It can't be" Stiles rushed out.

"I don't want to sound like I'm trying to tell you that you're wrong. But I don't think you're trying to kill people either" I said. Scott nodded in agreement.

Stiles looked over at the board. "It was here. It was all here"

"Dude, are you feeling okay? You're looking really tired" Scott pointed out.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just haven't been sleeping really"

"Why don't you go home?" I said.

Scott nodded. "Take a sick day or something"

Stiles looked at the board again and sighed.

"I'm worried about him, Scott" I said as we walked out of the classroom. "He's been screaming himself awake practically every night. Something's not right"

"I know, I know. I just can't figure out what" Scott said, slipping his hand into mine.

"I'm just so scared. Nothing like this has ever happened to him before. I'm even struggling to get to sleep because I'm so worried about him"

"We'll get to the bottom of it, I promise"

"And what about these fricking Ninja's that are after us. God I can't deal with all this supernatural shit right now"

"Hey" Scott paused and turned so we were face to face. "It's going to be okay"

"Is it though? Scott I'm terrified. I've never felt this on edge before" I said, my voice shaking slightly.

"Maybe you should take a day off too. Get some rest"

"I can't though. I'm too scared to even sleep sometimes. I'm so worried about Stiles. About you"

"You don't need to worry about me" he said.

"Yeah but I do. Like a lot"

"Alex" he sighed. "I can't tell you that everything is going to be okay because I don't know that it is. But you don't need to worry about me. I can take care of myself" he squeezed my hand.

"They're coming for you. Tonight" I reminded.

"I know"

"Have you even got a plan?" I asked.

"Nope"

I sighed. "I've said it once and I'm going to say it again. I seriously don't know what you'd do without me, Scott McCall"

"Could you lock the door?" Scott asked Kira.

Of course, Scott decided to bring Kira along to keep her safe too.

It's not that I have a problem with Kira.

It's just that I have a problem with Scott and Kira.

"Yeah" she replied, letting me go inside and then shutting it.

"We're running out of time" I said.

"I know. But Allison, her dad and Isaac are working on something that could help" Scott replied.

"I don't want to sound pessimistic or anything, but you really think that's going to keep them out?" Kira asked.

"Actually, we have a kind of security system. Things happened a couple of weeks ago, a lot of things, and we had my boss help make a few changes to the house" Scott said, checking all the locks.

"Your boss? Do you work for a security company or something?"

I laughed. "No, he's a veterinarian"

Kira looked at me in confusion and then turned back to Scott. "You had a vet put in your alarm?"

"Yeah, sort of. But I can't arm it.
Only my mom can"

"Where's she?" Kira asked.

"Don't worry. She'll be here. We're going to be okay. I promise"

"We? Or me?" Kira asked.

"All of us" Scott answered.

"You didn't bring the twins here because you didn't want them to get hurt, right?" Kira said to Scott.

"I don't want anyone getting hurt"

"Then why did you bring me? If those things are coming after you, and anyone who gets in the way gets killed, then shouldn't I be somewhere else?" Kira questioned.

I asked myself that question too but apparently Scott's a superhero that seems to be able to protect us all.

"I'm not letting you get hurt" Scott said.

"And I don't want you getting hurt. Especially because of me"

"It could be either of us" Scott pointed out.

Kira sighed. "I have to show you something" she took off her bag and pulled out a book of mythology. "Have you ever heard of something called a kitsune?"

I heard the sound of a car pulling up and the three of us stood up.

"My mom's back" Scott said.

We headed downstairs to be greeted by Mr McCall instead.

"Oh my god why is he here?" I whispered to Scott.

"What are you doing here? And why do you still have a key?" Scott demanded.

"Funny you mention keys. Because while I have a key to this house, I'm not exactly sure how you got a key to my office" His dad replied, opening up his laptop, showing a picture of Scott and Kira when they tried to get Kira's phone back.

We all went silent.

"Let me help you out here. This kind of thing usually begins with something along the lines of, 'It's not what you think' Or, 'I can explain'"

Everything started to go dark.

Scott looked at me with a panicked expression on his face and then turned back to his father. "Dad, let me help you out. You need to leave" he said.

"I will. With a satisfactory explanation"

I scoffed. "Go get a damn warrant"

"I don't need a warrant" he turned to Scott. "I'm your father"

"No, you're a gene donor. I got my hair color from you. And that's all I got. So you're not allowed to play tough dad with me"

The door closed shut and Melissa walked in.

"Hey, what's going on?" She asked.

"Maybe one of you should explain" Mr McCall looked between us.

"Seriously, I think you should just leave" I said.

"Are you aware of who you're talking to?" Mr McCall snapped.

Scott stepped forwards. "Don't you dare speak to her like that"

Suddenly, it went incredibly dark outside.

"Scott-" Kira said worriedly.

I heard the sound of one of those demonic ninja's entering the house.

"Who the hell is this?" Scott's dad asked, walking towards the other room.

"Dad, no! Dad, wait"

The Oni drew out a sword and slashed him with it.

My eyes widened in fear.

Kira screamed.

"Dad!" Scott yelled, running over to his lifeless body and dragging him out of the way.

The door opened and Derek slid in.

"Nice entrance" I nodded at him.

Scott growled, Derek growled. They charged at the Oni.

"Mom, the ash!" Scott yelled out.

An Oni came up behind Kira and I spun around, pulling out my dagger.

The window smashed and the twins landed on the floor, glass all around them.

They roared and helped Scott and Derek.

"Mom, now! Do it now" Scott yelled.

Melissa ran and smashed the jar on the floor.

I took a deep breath.

We all stood there in silence, staring at the Oni who couldn't cross past the barrier.

Kira put her hand forwards, reaching out.

The barrier sparked.

"You okay?" I asked her.

She nodded, seeming a little overwhelmed with everything.

"It's Kira, right?" Aiden said. He turned to her. "You going to tell us what you are?"

"What? What do you mean?"

"Aiden-" I warned.

"Watch!" He pushed her hand back to the protective field around us. "See that? She can't go through it either. So, what are you?"

"She's a kitsune, idiot" Derek said in a 'duh' tone.

"Use your eyes. You can see it all around her" Derek said, walking into the room. "The younger ones give off an aura. She just hasn't learned how to conceal it yet. She probably doesn't know what kind she is either"

"I wasn't going to hurt her" Aiden commented once Kira and Scott were out of the room.

"Not yet" Derek said.

"Why do you think we're here, Derek? For a study group? We're here to protect Scott. We're trying to fight for him" The twins said.

"I'm sure you are. I'm sure you'd kill for him" Derek turned around to face them. "But are you willing to die for him?"

The twins glanced at each other.

I heard a clashing sound and watched as the Oni's tried to hit their swords against the mountain ash protecter field.

"What are they doing?" I asked.

"Testing for weaknesses"

Vases and ornaments started smashing on the floor.

Two of the Oni's put their swords together and started to push through.

"Guys?" Ethan said. "We have a problem"

My phone started to ring and I sighed in relief when I saw the caller I.D.

"Allison, please tell me that you have something. They're here. They're trying to get in. And it looks like they're gonna be able to"

"Okay, okay listen. They're Japanese demons. They're called the oni.
They're looking for someone possessed. Someone with a dark spirit attached to them"

"A nogitsune" Scott said.

"How'd you know that? Scott?"

"Just- Tell us what else" I said.

"Okay, they won't hurt you. They know you're supernatural but once they do this check, once they realize that you're not carrying with you this dark spirit, then they won't hurt you, I promise. All they're looking for is the nogitsune"

"I'm right, aren't I? They're looking for me" Kira said.

"They're looking for a dark spirit. And I know it's not you" Scott reassured.

I rolled my eyes.

"Scott, we're going to have to do something" Derek spoke up.

The Oni's finally broke the barrier and stepped in.

Ethan, Aiden and Derek and stood in front of Scott and Kira protectively.

"Don't do anything" Scott said.

"Is he serious?" Aiden asked.

"I said don't do anything" he turned to Kira and held out his hand. She took it. "Trust me"

I glanced over at Melissa as my heart sunk. She gave me a small smile.

I wonder if she knows about me and Scott.

The two of them stepped forward as did the Oni's, pressing their hands against the sides of their faces.

They dropped to the floor and I stepped forwards but Derek tugged me back.

The Oni's vanished and I rushed over to Scott's side.

"You're gonna be okay" I said as Derek and I bent down next to him.

"You're gonna be okay"

"Where are you going?"

"Home" I snapped.

"Woah, have I done something?"

I rolled my eyes. "Isn't it obvious"

"Hey guys" Melissa said. "Maybe you should talk this out upstairs. He needs peace and quiet" she indicated to Scott's father.

Scott nodded at me as I reluctantly followed him upstairs.

"You should go and be with your dad"

"I want to sort this out"

"There's nothing to sort out" I lied.

"Clearly there is"

I groaned. "Whatever"

"Alex talk to me"

"I'm jealous okay!"

He paused and I swear I saw a small smile tug at his lips. "You're jealous?"

I sighed. "Yeah. I mean I know we haven't been together long but Kira has just seemed to walk in and capture you're attention. If you like her more than friends then just end it with me and be with her, okay. Because I don't want to be led on and-"

I stopped talking as Scott's lips attached to mine.

"Alex I love you. Only you"

I giggled, unable to stop the grin on my face.

"What? Why are you smiling like that"

"I don't know. I mean, it feels like a really cliché romantic scene in a movie" I replied, biting my lip.

"So is this now the time you confess your love for me too?" He raised his eyebrows.

I paused for a moment. "How about I show you?"

I tilted my head and the two of us slowly leant in.

I could hear the blood pounding in my ears as the gap between us got smaller and smaller.

But then his lips touched mine and I was mesmerised by the feeling. The feeling that could never get old.

He pulled me in closer as my hands started to roam up his back and into his hair. I let my fingers gently run through it and he accidentally let a small moan slip from his mouth.

I started to smile into the kiss and I could feel him smiling back.

His hands moved from my waist and trailed up my bare arms.

The touch made me shiver.

Eventually, his hands found their way to the straps of my summer dress and he started to pull them down.

I let the dress slide off of my figure and fall to a heap on the floor.

I fumbled with the hem of Scott's shirt and started to pull it over his head.

He tossed it to the side and grinned at me before picking me up and wrapping my legs around his waist.

I let out a quiet giggle as he lowered me onto the bed.

He then started to attack me with kisses, his lips travelling down my body and then back up to my mouth.

I wrapped my fingers through the loops on his belt and gently tugged him forwards.

The smile on Scott's face suddenly dropped and he pushed himself off of me.

"What's wrong?" I asked worriedly.

"My dad. I should probably go and see him off to the hospital"

I nodded and reached over to grab my dress.

"On second thoughts" he said, pushing me back down again and lightly kissing my neck.

I slowly let go of my dress and lay back on the bed again.

"You wanna do this? Like right now? Me and you? I mean isn't your dad like dying? Are you sure?" I said quickly.

"If you don't want to-"

"I do. It's just I've never been with anyone before and I don't know exactly what to do. I've only read about this stuff in fanfiction" I rambled.

"Do you trust me?"

I bit my lip, a teasing grin on my face. "Eh, sometimes"

"Alex" he laughed.

"Yes. Of course. I don't know I guess I'm just nervous"

"It's just me" he whispered, his lips brushing my ear. "And I love you"

Fire burned through my body and I flipped us so I was on top of him.

I slowly kissed up his neck until I reached his slightly uneven jawline, planting light and gentle kisses along it.

I felt his hands against my skin as he fumbled with my bra strap.

"You're beautiful" he mumbled.

"You're cheesy"

"You love it"

"Always"

Literally though I've hardly had any sleep the past few days yet I still choose to get up an hour early tomorrow morning before school (#UKpeopleproblems) to watch the new teen wolf episode.
