"So when did you get there?" Mr McCall asked.

"At the same time" I replied.

"At the same time as who?"

"At the same time as me" Scott said.

"By coincidence?"

Stiles frowned. "What do you mean coincidence?"

"That's what I'm asking you. The two of you arrived at the same time. Was that coincidence?"

"Three" My brother corrected.

"Are you asking me?" I asked, ignoring Stiles.

"I think he's asking me" Scott said.

"I think he's asking the both of you" Lydia said with a sigh.

"Okay, let me answer the questions" Mr McCall said. Then he sighed. "Let me ask the questions. Just so I have this absolutely clear. Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira. Then Barrow took Kira to a power substation and tied her up with the intent of electrocuting her, which blacked out the entire town"

I looked at the others and we all shrugged. "Sounds about right"

"How did you know he'd take her to a power station?"

"Well, 'cause he was an electrical engineer" I said.

"So where else would he take her?" Stiles continued.

"That's one hell of a deduction there"

"Yeah, what can I say?" I shrugged.

Stiles nodded in agreement. "I take after my pops. He's in law enforcement" he winked at dad, who laughed and covered it up as a cough.

"Both of you, uh- Just answer the man"

I turned back to Mr McCall "We made a good guess"

"What were the two of you doing?" He looked at Scott and Kira.

"Eating pizza" Scott replied at the same times as Kira had replied with "Eating sushi"

They both glanced at each other.

"Eating sushi"

"Eating pizza"

"Eating sushi and pizza" They said in unison.

Mr McCall turned to my father.

"You believe this?"

"To be honest, I haven't believed a word Stiles and Alexa have said since they learned how to speak. But I think these kids found themselves in the right place at the right time and that girl sitting there is very lucky for it" my dad replied.

"Kira, is that how you remember it?"

The four of us sat forwards to look at her.

"Yes. Could I get my phone back now?"

"Stop. Stop. Stop" I put my hands against Scott's chest.

"What? I need to talk to her" he said, trying to get round me but Stiles stood in front of him.

"No, you need to remember someone left a coded message telling Barrow to kill her" My brother said.

"Which is why I need to talk to her"

"Scott, no way. Until we figure out if she's just another psychotic monster that's going to start murdering everybody, I vote against any and all interaction" Stiles argued.

"What if she's like me?" He asked, lowering his voice a little.

I shook my head. "That girl walked through 1.21 jigawatts of electricity. She's not like you"

"Okay, this one will get you into all of the perimeter doors" I handed Scott a card. "This one into the evidence room, and this one's for my father's office" I handed him two more.

"You didn't steal these, did you?" Scott asked.

I looked at my brother.

"No. I cloned them using the RFID emulator" he answered.

"Is that worse than stealing?"

"It's smarter" I shrugged.

"So, now almost everybody's out dealing with the blackout. But there's always somebody at the front desk.
There's Dispatch and usually a night shifter or two" Stiles explained.

"You guys are gonna use the service door entrance by the dumpster.
All right? Nobody uses it" I instructed.

"Now, I'll text you if anyone comes out. But, Scott, if you get caught, I can't help you. My dad's under investigation for an impeachment because of your dad, so, if anything happens we will run and leave you both for dead" My brother said.

"Got it. Thanks"

"Seriously, dude. I'd ask my dad, but you know-" Stiles cut off.

"No, I know. I get it" Scott said with a sympathetic smile.

"All right, just hurry up" I said.

"What?" I asked noticing my brother staring at me weirdly.

"Nothing"

I rolled my eyes. "It's obviously something"

He opened his mouth to speak and then sighed.

"Come on, you clearly have something to say"

He huffed and looked over at me. "Do you like Scott?"

My eyes widened. "Scott? Of course I like Scott he's my best frien-"

"No. No. I mean do you like, like Scott?"

"Why do you sound like that would be such a problem if I did?" I challenged.

He was about to reply when a car pulled up and Mr McCall stepped out.

"Ah, hell" Stiles mumbled sending a quick text. "Come on. Come on. Come on, Scott"

I sighed, opening the jeep door and stepping out. "Okay, I'm so going to regret this" I mumbled.

"Hey, hey" I yelled out to Mr McCall. "Wow! Thank God you are here. Oh, boy! Thank the lord" I glanced behind me praying for my brother to come over and help me.

"What do you want, Alex?"

"Oh, jeez! I was just I was thinking on the case. I was thinking I should clue you in on my thinking" I glanced over to my brother again with wide eyes. "Here's my thinking. I was thinking this, I was thinking that Barrow, right I was thinking that Barrow received the information about who to kill at the school, right, you know that? So I was thinking maybe the person who gave him that information, check this out, might actually be someone at the school. And that's, uh, my thinking" I said. By this time Stiles had come over.

"Hmm. You're right" Mr McCall said.

"I am?" I asked in confusion.

"She is?" My brother frowned.

"Yep. We started looking for links between Barrow, faculty and students last night" He said.

"So you already, then, know that stuff? You already thought of that" I said awkwardly.

"Your dad did"

"Oh"

"His one useful suggestion"

I was about to retort something back but Stiles beat me to it.

"You know, this attitude that you have toward my dad? You can dress it up to all the professional disapproval that you want. But I know the real reason why you don't like him"

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. Because he knows something that you don't want him to know. And guess what. We know it, too"

"Go home, both of you" he glanced nervously between us. "There's a-there's a curfew"

"It just showed up there on my key ring this morning. I asked my dad if he put it there but he said he didn't know anything about it" My brother explained to Scott.

Him and Kira had safely made it out undetected and now the four of us were going to a party.

"It's just a key, right?" Scott said.

"Yeah, but it's not mine. And I don't know how it got there or what it's for.

"You want to leave so we can figure it out?" I asked.

"Uh-"

"Happy Halloween!" A girl kissed him on the cheek.

"It can wait. It can wait" He glanced at us and then headed off after the girl.

I glanced between Scott and Kira.

"So, um, I'm gonna go and get some drinks" I said.

Scott frowned at me but let me go off.

I didn't get drinks.

I found Lydia instead.

"Do I detect a hint of jealousy?" She gave me a lop sided smile.

I sighed. "To what extent am I allowed to be jealous of my boyfriend's new friend? That's a girl"

"Hang on a second, boyfriend?" She grinned.

I blushed. "Yeah, we uh promised to keep it a secret for a while though"

"Stiles doesn't know?"

I shook my head. "I honestly don't know how to tell him" I looked over into the crowd and saw my brother dancing like an idiot. I cringed and turned back to Lydia. "So you and A-"

"Don't even say his name"

I chuckled.

"So you have no feelings for him at all then" I raised an eyebrow.

She pursed her lips and then turned back to me. "I'm gonna go and get some ice"

I stood on my tiptoes, scanning the crowd for Scott.

I huffed in annoyance when I couldn't find neither him or Kira.

The jealousy bubbled up inside of me again.

Suddenly, I felt arms around my waist and I spun around to face Scott.

"What are you doing?" I hissed. "Stiles is-"

"Not around" he finished, leaning in to kiss me.

I smiled a little at the touch of his lips.

"Wanna get out of here?" He asked.

I took his hand as we headed to the stairs leading to the roof but paused when I heard Derek's voice booming through the crowd.

As everyone legged it out of the party, Scott and I stopped, both noticing the black shadowy figure appearing.

Danny was carrying Lydia out and I glanced at them worriedly.

"You should get out of here" Scott said.

I shook my head. "I'm staying"

Allison and Isaac came out too, holding Ethan up.

Kira appeared, coming over to us.

Dark figures came out of the shadows.

"Guys, they're all looking at me. Why are they all looking at me?" Aiden said. "Guys?"

Scott and Derek lunged forwards, attacking the satanic looking Ninja's.

Both of them were thrown to the floor.

Isaac stepped out, flicking his wrists.

The figure in black turned around and literally pulled a sword from it's chest.

"Somebody do something!" Allison yelled as they grabbed Aiden.

I wanted to move and help but there was nothing I could do.

I heard the sizzle of something and then Aiden fell to the floor.

Then they turned to Scott, who stood up, growling, and started to back into a corner, Kira behind him.

The sun started shining through the window and the dark figures immediately vanished.

What the hell was that?
