"I will grab my books and meet you in the kitchen then?" Asked Koneko.

"Sounds good." You nod.

The two of you leave as Rias shakes her head with a big smile. Akeno was just in time to see the both of you exit. She giggled and turned to her bestfriend and borderline sister.

"What are those two doing together?" She asked.

"Well Akeno what I thought would be good. They are grabbing their bags and studying together." The two looked at each other with the same smile.

"Think they will know about each other more?" Akeno asked again.

"To a point. He doesn't want anyone else to know what he really is. And is very insecure about her past and who she is as well. Who cracks first is mystery. Regardless I'm looking for baby steps. I am in no rush."

"Just like our Issei."

Rias slowly turned her head and glared at her. "Im sorry, our Issei?"

"Well I'd like time with him. Sharing is caring." Akeno defended her answer with a smile. A devious smile that possibly meant trouble.

"He's not a pair of shoes but whatever." She waved her off. "Just if you can help it keep an eye on those two. Nothing lewd."

"I guess."

"I mean it Akeno." Said Rias firmly.

"Sure thing. I'll lend an ear. I am quite curious as well on how they will do." Not only the King and Queen but the other pieces were as well.

Koneko was walking in with her bag. Then joining you on the kitchen table. Since it was jus the two of you she sat across and spread all her subjects out like you did. "How long were you holding up?"

"Ten minutes at tops. Language, algebra, science. Genetics of all things. Ugh. Such a bad yet interesting at the same time painful subject."

"I agree." She nodded.

"Yeah. You don't know the half of it."

"Well you are a year ahead of me. That is true. But I know where you're coming from. I won't go further."

"Fair." You check off an answer. "Family sucks. I honestly hope I never meet them again."

"Tell me about it." She sighed.

It got uncomfortable for a about a few minutes. Writing a few paragraphs you stop to drink some bottled water. "Hey. Need one while I'm up?"

"Please. If you don't mind." She didn't look up but seemed nervous about it.

You go over and grab two bottles. One on her and another for you of course. Then get back to your notes and pass one over. "So. Any troubles?"

"Gotten help from Rias. Thank goodness for that. Her and Akeno actually make great tutors. They can almost do it all."

"Doesn't mean they are the best ladies alive. You got talents too." You flash her a smile.

"What do you mean?" She picked her head up.

"Well..." Easy. If you can talk to Rias then you can talk to any woman. "I punched half the life out of a guy. Which means I know you are to be the strongest woman I have ever met in my life."

She shrugged her shoulders. "I guess."

"And don't be jealous of looks either."

"Huh? Are you..."

You didn't let her finish that sentence. "No I'm not. I may be not the greatest with women, but I do have manners."

"Okay. What would describe me? Pick one. Please don't say petite."

"Hmmmm." Something fitting. What am I thinking here? Independent? Crazy? Unique? Willed. Hey that's it. "Strong. That's my word of choice."

"Why strong?" She asked.

"Strong willed, strong integrity, and strong hearted. I know we are really just starting from scratch but am I close?"

She blushed. "You are exceptionally kind (FN)."

"Thanks." You blush and smike back at her. "So after hitting the books then what?"

"A late night walk anf then I'm showering. Alone. Then off to bed for me I guess."

"Riiiiight. I probably have to train tomorrow morning."

"With me. Isn't that something?"

You gulp. "Don't hurt me." You flinch.

"You're fine. Just don't be late. Gather your strength. See if you can complete the try Rias had you do."

"Can you do it?"

"On good days yes. But not every day. Mostly I'm doing other things like throws, agility, and the sort. You haven't learned basics yet."

"Awwwww come on. This is a kick to the crotch."

"Ladies like babies but not ones in highschool."

You sigh. "Had to throw that one out there right? Can I join you for the walk?"

Koneko thought hard about this one. He's not perverted yet it might be his vocabulary that's off with me. Please he hasn't done much besides go to school. He barely knows the area. "Fine. But we stay even pace the entire time. You aren't checking me out."

"Good by me. I wouldn't look to begin with but okay." You were being honest but with your thought process she had to have her reasons. "Lead the way."

You close the door behind you to the front of the manor and follow her as dusk just hit. A peaceful street. Made sense for a manor to be there otherwise it would make no sense. Then around the corner almost into town but still residential.

"So how you like it so far?" She asked.

"The walk or?"

"Being a Devil."

"Well Koneko I never went to church but know stories. Some true. Some I question. Some of them complete lies. Surely you know. As of right now I think it's a good feeling."

"You fit in great. Just like I said. Careful of eyes, actions, and words. That includes thoughts." You patted your shoulder.

"Noted."

Suddenly ruffles could be heard from the trees above. "Well well. I knew you were a pussy but this takes the cake." Laughed a voice.

No...

Koneko turned around and clenched her fists. "Who are you?"

"Sorry Blanks. Did you miss me? Cause I sure as hell missed beating sense into you." A figure with black hair and blue eyes showed his face. "He never mentioned me?"

"Lightning what do you want? I left. The forest is yours. Take it." You slowly back away.

"Awww but I miss the bone crushing. Too bad that witch helped you." Lightning laughed.

"She's not a witch. Nor is my friend here someone for you to pick on." You stand in front of Koneko. "Don't touch her. Please. I just want peace."

"Once again boy who thinks I'm His brother," He cracked his knuckles. "You are on the wrong. And I also don't care. Spare me."

"Lightning I said leave."

"Screw you Blanks. What you say doesn't matter. You're dirt. Worthless. Lower than low. And yet after all my plans of attack as leader of the pack you live. And that's why I won't stop until I finish the job."

You shake your head. "Mom wouldn't like that."

"She is not your mother!" He charged a sky blue light fixture in his hand.

"Watch out! That's a spear of light." Cried Koneko.

"A what?" You look behind and look are her.

"Duck!" She shouted and jumped out of the way.

"Gaaaaaaahhhhhhh!" You screamed. I took out the right side of your chest. "Koneko... I'm sorry." You crash to the floor.

"Always a wimp. One hit. Hey Loli listen up. When Blanks wakes up tell him to stay off my streets. I'll be nice and give him a 7 PM curfew."

"Like hell." Koneko cocked back and lunged at him. Only to be stopped by another Fallen Angel. "What?" She had her hand caught.

"Hello little girl. I'm Winter. If you excuse us. We're leaving. Bye now." With that Winter and Lightning took off.

"Oh no. I got to call Rias." < Rias!? Come quick! >

< Yes Koneko. What is it? >

< It's (FN). He's been found. I believe it's his family. His brother pierced his chest with a spear of light. >

< Oh no! I'll be there. >

I'm sorry. I know we just became friends but I'm sorry. You've got this worse than me. I'm so sorry. You have been through so much. I feel like such a bitch. Please. Stay with me and we will battle this. Be my friend and we will fight together. I promise.

Lightning is back and he's brought help. Running away and being sent away won't do the trick. It's clear the only way to do this is to fight. Time to get home, recover, and start the day tomorrow. Bound to happen really.
