Earth Enchanted

~ * ~

A wildflower bud thriving in the veil's field full of colours,
Bathing in the sunlight that gives the green of summers,
Swaying free under a gentle breeze and smell of the wind,
Grateful for the morning dew after a dry night footprint.

Basking in the warmth seeping and feeding your inside,
Breathing the freedom the vast green gives far and wide.

With eyes wide open now, there's nothing to look for,
Thinking it's a dream you're looking now for a door.
You're in a garden planted, heavy stem now sore,
Unfamiliar to your tired roots and no green on the floor.

Although there's food and water, faint far-off sweet sound,
Incomparable with the old meadow and earth enchanted ground.
Reminiscing behind closed lids of a far-away happy place,
You're engulfed into a whirlpool disappearing without a trace,
Startled and scared as a huntsman after weary chace.

Left barren of all means, you've been taken and tossed,
An outcast in the crowd, always alone and lost,
Only shadows on the snow, just as fast they go,
Wishing for all to stop, but they come back for more.

Until one day you find yourself immersed in water,
Hopeful again to leave, rest of the world won't matter.
To no avail, waiting only proved to be just another dream,
Next thing you're pressed dry between pages at the seam.

Fading days suddenly come swirling into your groggy mind,
Fragments flitted of past that you try so hard to leave behind,
Growing louder memories kept hidden deep inside your heart,
A stage painted black with blood melting in the darkest part.

And it's been hitting harder when nights are long,
Darker recesses of a frantic mind, thinking you've done wrong.
Chest heaved possessed by fear in its clutches still at war,
More questions flurried to mind, missing answers as before,
Not ready to let go of what you have been wishing for.

Saying you're different yet you are someone's favourite colour,
Who needs you to complete their picture and count on each other,
You're the vast unfinished canvas, not as you thought the painter,
Take chances every day, deserving something so much greater.

Just as a seed from dirt a flower blooms with sweet perfume,
Whole world out there to see, though you're in a tiny room.
Knowing patience and time do more than passion and strength,
Don't look at what is lost, when fate stands smiling at arms-length.
