Chapter 8

Kim’s POV

“I can’t believe that Chance did that to you Leah. Then what Luke did to you Mary Joe.” I say all angry.

“See then people wonder why I love a woman instead of a man” I say as I lean over and kiss Tammy.

She smiles at me and gives me another kiss. Then the baby kicks and I yelp in surprise and tell all of them what happened.

“Well girls I no for sure Tim is going to call them so expect them here today.”

Leah glares at me “what! I told him to promise not to tell him I’m here.”

“Oh believe me he’ll find a loop hole to get him here.”

Just then I see 2 guys walking our way. Oh my God no way “Lance!”

“Kim is that you?”

“Oh my God how are you?” He smiles and looks at the guy next to him.

“I’m perfect this is John we have been together for a year now.”

I smile at him “this is Tammy I’ve been with her for over a year. She’s the one I told you about.”

Then I look at Tammy “this is.”

She holds her hand up “Oh I know exactly who he is.”

“Oh my God Lance would you do me a huge favor.”

“These are my friends Leah and Mary Joe. They are fighting with their boyfriends.”

“I have no boyfriend” said Mary Joe.

“Well neither do I” said Leah.

“Well anyway” I say all what ever about it.

“They will be here later today and I think it would be good to show them that if they don’t step up there game they are going to loss them.”

“So what do you need from me?”

“I need something from the 2 of you.” I say as I point at each of them .

“I need you to pretend to be into them. So the guys tell Chance and Luke when they come. Then when they get here and see you with them their going to die.”

“Oh my God your not going to do that.” Said Judy as she caught the tail end of our conversation.

“This is going to be so much fun.” then we all giggled.

I make everyone walk away and leave the 4 of them talking. Then I turn and see Tim get the phone, bingo. I catch Leah’s attention and give her a thumbs up.

Chance’s POV

“I can’t believe where going to Galveston. What the hell does Ben want.”

“Calm down Chance it seemed like it was important” Luke says.

“Call him and find out where we can find him.”

Luke dials and ask Tim where we should go. I got the directions and headed for the beach.

We got out of the car and walked to the beach. I stopped to scan the area to see where Tim and Ben are. Then I feel my blood boil when I spot Leah talking to this guy.

Then I turn and notice that look also saw Mary Joe and that other guy. If that glare in his eyes is anything to go by.

“Oh hell no I didn’t just see Mary Joe and Leah talking to those guys” he says.

“Oh man am I really in the dog house.” I run my fingers through my hair. Shit, shit I really fu*ked up big time. I have a lot of groveling to do.

We walk closer until we reach Ben and Tim.

“She made me promise not to tell you she was here. But when those 2 bozos came into the picture I had to call.” Ben says not taking his eyes off the girls.

“You really screwed up huh Chance?” Tim said looking at me “You aren’t doing any better yourself their Luke.”

Luke just shrugs trying to seem unaffected.

Leah’s POV

I felt his eyes on me before he even approached Ben and Tim. So Kim was right Ben did call him. Good I hope he missed me as much as I missed him.

Huh but if he thought it was going to be easy to just come and say he’s sorry he has another thing coming.

I lean into Lance “ok Chance just arrived so it’s time to up the game.”

He laughs loudly and I look at him confused. “This is going to make him look our way and squirm.”

I laugh in return “oh your bad.”

“I don’t even know why I’m doing this. Luke doesn’t even want me.”

“Hush” I tell Mary Joe.

“Come on lets go for a walk.” Lance says and grabs my hand and we walk off.

“So how do you know Kim?” I ask and he laughs.

“The summer after graduation I came down here with my parents and she was renting the house next door. We became friends and we got intimate and I came out of the closet to her and she came out to me.”

I started to laugh when we came back I saw that Chance had taken his boots and shirt off and was standing there with a beer in his hand. I went to stand by Mary Joe and Lance was standing next to John.

Chance walked over to us. “Hello girls.”

“Chance” we said at the same time.

“Leah I need to speak to you.” he said while looking down at his feet.

Son of a bitch I thought. This jack ass still can’t tell us apart. I felt my blood boil at this point and I look at Mary Joe. Who picks up on what I’m feeling.

She turns to Chance and smiles. “Sure you can speak to Leah. But first you have to tell me which one of us is Leah.”

He looks at us with a shocked look on his face.

I smile and say “yes Chance do tell me which one of us is Leah.”

He looked from me to Mary Joe. Once, twice, three times then I see him look at our chest. I felt so hurt that he could not tell us apart that I walked away and Lance followed me.

“Well you do look alike. Maybe you should give the guy a break. He looked so sad and lost plus he’s hot as hell girl.”

That makes me laugh.

When it got darker we started a fire and Lance went to his house to get his guitar. While we sat around the fire he winked at me and started playing and singing a Brian Adams song.

Chance’s Pov

Hell I know which of them Leah is. I just couldn’t believe she would not think I knew. Then she just walked away with that guy . It took all my self control not to go beat that guys ass.

Then it got darker and she kept avoiding me now this bozo is singing.

“Oh hell no he’s not singing to my girl” I growl out loud.

“Luke find a way back with Ben” Then I get up and go get my woman.
