This is a poem about the event that caused America to join the Allies in World War 2. The event that happened on December 7th, 1941, at 7:55 am. The Attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Sun and The Beauty

A bright, sunny daybreak.
Mainland America now awakes.
As the little island of Oahu Hawaii sleeps,
A tiny monster rises from the deep.
Only to be gored,
By the USS Ward,
The island makes not one peep.

But the ocean is churning,
The Japanese are yearning,
For the sacred words that mean go.

A few minutes later,
Around the Equator,
Those sacred words ring out.

"Climb Mount Niitaka!"
They say,
"Climb Mount Niitaka!"

With the whirl of the planes,
And the spin of the blades,
The Japanese are ready.

In the blink of an eye,
They soar into the sky.
Hear the war songs they're humming.
The Japanese are coming.
