"Sonic!" Tails ran up to Sonic and hugged him. "I can't believe you are married now." 

"What I can't believe is that he tamed Shadow." Knuckles said as he walked to us as well. 

"Tame me?" I raised a brow but tried not to let his comments ruin my mood. The ceremony was over, after 5 months of planning, Sonic and I had finally got married, and now we were standing at the after party that Sonic had organized with Rouge and Amy. 

I stayed close to Sonic the whole night, we shared our first dance as a married couple, our first kiss, our first drinks, and there were tons of pictures that the group had made sure to send to us at the end of the day. I couldn't keep my eyes off of Sonic, I had never seen him in a suit before, and seeing him in one the day of our wedding made it even better. I couldn't stop thinking of where our lives would go from here. 

Eggman even had the decency of leaving us alone on this important day, especially because I personally paid him a visit, threatening his life if he ruined this for us. Sonic, of course, didn't know about this since I didn't want to get him worried. He had already been stressed out with all the planning that I had to talk with his best friend to find a way to keep him calm. He was dropping quills left and right from the stress. 

I had cleared up any problems the fox had with me a little after we got engaged. I had come alone to talk to him, knowing that if we planned the wedding with the fox still not fully trusting me, it would cause Sonic to get overwhelmed and panic. We talked, and it took us a long time, but now we understood each other, we both wanted the best for Sonic and were both willing to risk our lives to protect him. 

So when Sonic was finally ready to tell the fox we were engaged, Miles ended up congratulating us with a sincere smile. He even planned out a surprise for Sonic for when everyone had left, and it was just the two of us alone under the night sky. 

"Sonic." I said as I grabbed his hand and walked outside, making sure he was following me. 

"What's up, Shadz?" He asked curiously. "We have to get the place cleaned out before we go home." He tugged at my hand, but I shook my head. 

"That's taken care of." I said and grabbed his chin, making him look at me before I pecked his lips, then made him look up at the sky. "Rouge and Knuckles have that covered. Tails wanted us to be outside." 

"Tails wanted us to be outside?" He moved my hand away gently, then intertwined our fingers. "What do you -" 

Before he could finish his sentence, a piercing whistle sounded at the distance, then a loud crack as fireworks erupted in the sky. The spectacular burst of color and spark light up the night sky. Sonic squeezed my hand as he moved closer to me and rested his hand on my shoulder while we both looked at the sky. 

"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Sonic whispered, barely audible against the cracks of the fireworks. 

I squeezed his hand back, not answering him, not letting this get to me, just letting myself enjoy the moment. Every single second possible, memorizing every single detail of this special night. The night I married the love of my life.
