Chapter Four
"Well I'm just saying, she's a bitch and a shitty boss." I said.
"Well sounds like you despise your job." Lucifer says, not looking up from his phone.
"Tell me about it!" I roll my eyes. "All this lady does is bitch and moan about how 'I'm not doing my job' when she's probably been either sitting atop her golden throne or fucking some unfortunate guy."
"Sounds like a real piece of work." Alastor says. Peppermint was curled up and sleeping on his head, which was adorable.
"I could really use a coffee." Lucifer says.
"Ooh me too, I'll make some." I say, standing up.
"Thanks Rosie." Lucifer says, shooting me a grin. His head sat in Alastor's lap while Alastor looked through the paper.
In my opinion it's adorable how intamit their friendship is, the both of them are completely fine with just being around each other. For example right now; they're both so relaxed and quite frankly don't give a damn if they look like they're a couple.
Am I very much highly aware of Alastor's feelings for our friend? Yes. Very.
I'd put the pieces together all the way back in fourth grade. I knew he liked Lucifer before Alastor even knew he was gay. I'd already figured that out in third grade. I always noticed the lack of interest he had in girls.
Then Lucifer showed up, and from the start I was suspicious.
Why would Alastor be so mean so suddenly? It was completely unlike him. Usually he didn't give a damn about what other people did.
Then, one day, in fourth grade, Alastor told me that he and Luc had decided to be friends.
And my, my, my, how funny it was when Lucifer came up and hugged him. The way Alastor's face turned bright red, and how his arms just flew up as if he had no idea where to put them.
It had taken all my will power not to snort out laughter at my friend.
Then, in sixth grade, came the day he came out to me.
~~~
"Uh, Rosie?" Alastor pulled me behind the school, sweating like crazy.
"Yeah? What's up Al?" I asked.
"Um . . ." He played with his sweaty hands.
Oh shit. I realized. He's about to come out.
"What's up Alastor? You can tell me." I say.
"I uh . . . um. I think . . . I'm gay." He said, looking down.
"I know." I replied happily, hugging him.
"Wait-huh?!" He exclaimed.
"I picked up on it in third grade." I tell him.
"What?" He sputtered.
I grin. "Yep! Soooooooooooo, I guess now I can finally ask you about your little crush on Lucifer Morningstar?"
His face went red. "W-what are you talking about?"
I smirk. "Ooh this is funny. I think you know very well what I'm saying."
"I-ugh there's no winning against you." He said annoyedly.
I laughed. "You're right about that."
~~~
After that things just . . . happened.
When Lucifer got married I could see how much Al had been hurting on the inside. Poor guy.
And yet he still stuck around and stayed friends with Luc, and even choosing to just be happy for him.
And now, even after Lucifer has gotten a divorce, Alastor isn't jumping at the chance to be with him. Instead he's just . . . being a good friend.
That took streignth. I don't think I would be able to watch the person I loved be with someone else.
I head back into the living room with the coffee, and Lucifer sat up, taking it. "Thanks."
"'Course dear." I say, sipping my own coffee as I hand Alastor his.
"OUCH!" Luc exclaimed, holding his coffee at an arm's length. "Too hot!"
"Luci, you are such a wimp." Al joked as he took a sip of his coffee
Oh, right. The nickname. Did I mention Alastor's the only one who calls Luc that? It's adorable, I know.
