Chapter 1: Soon
Sorry in advance for all mistakes.

"Why are you even here Simone? Don't you have evening classes?" I walked into my living room a while ago, shocked to find my little sister settled on my couch like if she lives here.
"Mom and Dad are on date night tonight, Heather has classes, and I'm not talking to Jude." I go to say something by she stops me.
"I know, I know. I told you so." I watch the girl amused as she waves me off.
"Actually I was going to ask why? But that suits as well." I laugh when she flips me off with her ring finger. I collect my things for my usual evening walk, heading towards to the door, putting on my jacket.
"Want to join me?" I ask her, as she comes to lean against the wall watching me. She screws up her face, looking rather offended that I'll even ask her to walk of all things.
"Never mind. I'll be gone for a while, don't burn down the house till then." I open the door.
"No promises. Be safe."
"Always." I blow her a kiss, walking down the stairs.
The streets of my little hometown, especially around this time, was somewhat peaceful. A few people were outside walking around, having to give a wave here and there.
A couple and a family were walking down the street, most likely heading towards the park, because around this beautiful Autumn time, our famous trademark tree was starting to turn color.
It's a beautiful sight to behold I tell you. The burgundy, yellow and orange colors, was simply beautiful that it just caused you to stop and admire, or for the kids, a good time to jump around and play in the leaves.
"Hey Carlene!" I smile over at the group of women, sitting outside on Mrs. Witmore's porch for their annual evening meet up.
"Hey Mrs. Witmore. Ladies." They all greet back.
Walk faster. Walk faster. I tell myself trying to rush pass the cream house, before they could hold me in a long conversation.
"How's the boyfriend?" I stop turning to look back at them. Seemed they caught on to my escape plan, since they were now all standing.
"Umm...he's good."
"So you do have one. And here I thought I'd have to set you up with my Elton." Mrs. Smith states.
"He's a good boy. Recently got promoted at his job. Six figures salary."
"Oh well that's great for him, Mrs. Smith. I'll talk to you ladies later okay?" I quickly walk off before they could say anything else. Taking out my AirPods, and quickly putting them in my ears, putting on some music to drown out any other questions I know they would ask.
They're a nosy bunch, I can tell you that.
The past year since Dillan and I have been together, our laughs, smiles, tears and even some reports of situations that pissed us off, were spoken over the phone.
We first met on Tinder, and honestly I didn't fully believe in the app. He was the only guy I swiped right on that wasn't looking for sex, and actually held conversation.
He's thirty two, which is great. Only four years older than me. Very successful at his job as an accountant, has a good family background. Well...that's according to what I have been told.
Conversation felt almost to easy with him. The natural response I had to him was slightly frightening.
We talked via text and voice call for about seven months before I actually gave in to video call. Thankfully he looked exactly like his picture, and I wouldn't have to contact Nev to help me find out who it is I was actually talking to.
I think I became a lot more shy when we saw each other's faces in real time. A blushing mess as my sister likes to say. And I mean it's justified. Who wouldn't be a blushing mess when the very foine man they were crushing on over the last few months, looked so much more foine when I finally saw his face.
I mean his smile! Dimples are everything.
Everything was almost perfect for the next two months after that. Conversations went on for hours on end, or until I fell asleep. I don't know how he does it, but I always seem to fall asleep first.
Our relationship felt too good to be true, and I guess it's expected that something happened to ruin that happy streak.
A woman had suddenly slid into my DMs, arguing that I should leave her fiancé alone. I was humiliated, but mostly heartbroken. With the distance I knew nothing of his life other than what he told me, so having this happen was just horrible.
I ignored him for three days, but he kept calling, texting and asking me what was wrong. I mean.. you're suppose to know what was wrong right? You're engaged!
It's my first ever relationship, and I was and still am kinda scared, if I'm to be honest. I felt like I had opened up too quick, and made myself easy, but when I had finally spoken to him, he told me it was simply out of jealousy.
An ex, who couldn't handle that they weren't together anymore.
He reassured me that he hadn't at anytime been engaged and he wasn't going to cheat on me. I had doubts, I mean I've heard stories about the 'I won't cheat, but then proceeds to' type story, but I decided to trust him.
The only example I have had of a man who spoke truthfully about his feelings, and wasn't playing around about the woman's emotions, is my father. He loves my mother so much, it's a little sickening, yet it's the type of love that made you dream to have it yourself.
This Christmas will be the first time we'll be meeting in person, and I'm a little nervous to be honest. He'll be staying at a hotel of course, but he'll be spending Christmas with me and my family.
My dad is fully prepared.
According to mom he has an entire speech prepared. As for Simone, she's already considering him her brother in law, and we're not even close to the thought of marriage yet.
While I on the other hand, don't know what to expect when he comes. Like would things be awkward, or would the chemistry be as it always is.
I hope it would be.
A smile comes unto my face, when I see the marvel of the community in the distance. The beauty of it only seeming to enhance as I got closer.
Autumn truly is such a beautiful season. The chilly weather, causing us all to pull out our warm coats and jackets; or as Simone likes to say, the season to cuddle and snuggle with your boo.
I wonder what that even felt like.
The soft sound of Calum Scott's You are the reason begins to play in my ears. The song pulling on my heartstrings, as I listened.
I've been counting down the days till we meet with an eager mind, and rapid racing heart. I felt myself beginning to long for him to here already. To be next to me holding my hand as we walked through the park, seeing as he said he would like to go on my annual walk with me when he comes.
I could see me holding unto his arm, the both of us talking about any and everything. Smiles on both of our faces.
He'll say some silly joke, that would make me laugh, and the watchful eyes of some of my fellow townsfolk would be on us because one, they've never seen me with a man before, and two, some people are just nosy.
I wonder what our first kiss would be like. I feel my cheeks warm. Him pulling me closer to his body, his hand gently holding unto my face, eyes looking down at me ever so lovingly.
I could feel my heart fluttering all now.
"You know.." I jump in surprise, my hand swinging behind me to hit the person responsible. Luckily the idiot had time to step back before they came in contact with the back of my hand.
I glare at the dark hair girl.
"Simone!"
"You know it's not safe to be walking and daydreaming like that. Trust me I would know." She states.
"I swear one day you won't miss the slap." She snickers, pushing her hands in her pocket.
"What were you thinking about? Dillan I'm sure." My face heats up, and I turn around walking away.
"You excited to meet him?" She comes to walk next to me.
"Of course I am. I just hope things won't change."
"They won't." She reassures me. I look at her, really looked at her.
"I thought you said you didn't want to walk?" She shrugs.
"You okay?" She's not one to ever go for a walk, far less do anything that required athletics, so she must be really going through it to be here right now.
"Just got a lot on my mind." I nod in understanding. She throws her heavy arm over my shoulder.
"Ya'll gonna do it?" She whispers.
"Simone!" I shove her away from me. A few people look in our direction but the rascal just kept laughing.
"I can't with you." I begin to walk even faster, my face feeling like it's on fire.
"Hey wait up!"
"No. I'm done talking to you." She grabs unto my arm, laughing at my demise.
"You're as red as a tomato." She pokes my cheek.
"Stop." I whine, hitting away her hand.
My phone suddenly begins to ring, and I quickly take it out, my heart skipping a beat when I see Dillan's contact.
"Ohhh." She wiggles her eyebrows.
"Stop it." I push her away, answering the phone.
"Hello?" I push my hair behind my ears.
"Hey baby. How are you?" I almost melt at the deep tone of of his.
"I'm doing good." I shyly reply.
"She's a blushing mess Dillan!" I shove the girl away again, and she runs ahead of me laughing. Dillan's low chuckle didn't help either.
"Stop it you guys." I whine at the two. She shakes her head, raising her hands in surrender.
I'll kill you. I mouth to her and she laughs more.
"What were you thinking about that has you blushing so much?" He asks with a slightly amused tone.
"I umm...you." I swear I could feel him smiling through the phone.
"Soon." He mutters and my lips curl up into a smile.
"Yeah, soon." I look over to Simone, who smiles as us.
