Steven curled up into a ball on his bed. The Crystal Gems were now gone, and he felt as if it were his fault.

I don't deserve to exist now... He told himself as tears streamed down his face. I just wish I could die...

There was a knock on the door, making Steven jump out of his thoughts. He just let out a groan as he walked up to the door and opened it.

It was Connie.

"Oh, hey, Connie." He sadly said. Connie instantly noticed something was wrong, as he's never acted this sad before. "Steven, what's wrong?" Connie asked, surprising Steven. He never expected her to ask that.

"Nothing..."

"Steven, tell me the truth." Connie said, moving Steven's head so he was looking right at her. "I know that there something wrong, this isn't like you at all!"

Tears just filled Steven's eyes as he moved his gaze away from Connie's.

"The gems...were captured by homeworld...and...I-I don't know what to do or anything...all I really can do is continue to feel worthless a-and-"

Connie stopped Steven in the middle of his sentence.

"Steven, listen, you are not worthless! You are amazing and unique, you're special, Steven, you really are."

Connie pulled Steven close until they were face-to-face with each other, close enough to kiss. Both Steven and Connie blushed.

"And Steven, I want to help you..."

He just let out a slow sigh. "I want to find the gems."

"But Steven, isn't homeworld far away?"

"Yeah, it is, but don't worry, I got a plan!"

With that, Steven ran onto the warp, dragging Connie with him. "To the barn!" Steven cheered. Suddenly, a bright light engulfed them, and when it faded, they were at the barn.

"Why are we here, Steven?"

"I have some friends that can help..."

Steven just took a deep breath as he ran toward Lapis and Peridot. He was still afraid about doing this because he didn't know what would happen, but he'd do it, for his friends, his family.
