Innocence

You would see it in their eyes
If you looked close enough

The anger is not because they are being told
But
Because they don't understand

They are being told to make life decisions
When they have not really
Lived
They are being told to plan
A future
When they have barely lived in
The present
They are being told to prepare for
A life
That has yet to
Prepare them

The advantage is ours
But
Have we forgotten how we got
The advantage
We have lived
We have experienced
We have learned

We made our mistakes
In spite of what we were told

Our anger is not because they
Won't listen
But
Because they don't understand

You would see it in their eyes
If you looked close enough
