Well Stitch_rhymes_with-- left a comment on my explanation to my response on why I hate the cliché about Ash's density, that made me full out explain my opinion on this topic, that I think everyone should hear to improve themselves as a fanfiction writer.

"Ok, I get that he has never picked up any 'hints' that was thrown at him, but making him completely dumb makes him a lousy character in the story. And the ones were he acts dense, but then really isn't, really?! There is a fine line between not understanding how to pick up hints/realizing romantic feelings and not understanding anything. Keep in mind that the Pokémon anime is still aimed at young kids, so it's not like they are going to have him date anyone, though they have pushed the barrier with Drew's roses for May and Serena's kiss. So it's only natural for him to not be knowledgeable about romance, don't overdo it when writing stories."

I think you're on to something. There's so many people who say Ash is dense, but he seems more... innocent..

Exactly! Ash's character in the anime and Ash's fanfiction stereotypical character are different. It's a way that fanfiction writer's misinterpret or base their character(s) personalities off of other fanfictions with misinterpreted character personalities, make fanfictions seem immature and unrealistic to the actual franchise. Like when writer's who haven't seen the X&Y series that include Serena in their PokéShipping story make Serena a materialistic bitch. Same goes for any shipping story with another character in it that aims to get in the way of the relationship, like the other Pokégirls, Melody, Rudy, Danny, Gary, Brianna, Ursula, Cilan/Trip (for Negai), etc.

Damn... We need to spread this realization everywhere... IN OUR RANT BOOKS!!!!

But if more (especially beginning) writers heard about this, they're be less horrible (as in cringy or low quality) fanfictions out there on Wattpad and other places, ntm less shipping wars over the way a shipping antagonist behaves that can cause conflicts and offence amongst the readers.
