Chapter Two

One human year later.

Sam sat in the drop ship, the wind howling outside, causing the vehicle to shake as it flew.  A dozen other demon-angels were seated around him as well.  Some of them looked nearly like demons, with the lengthy scaly forms, and slited reptilian eyes.  The other ones were much like Sam though, with the armor of an ethereal.
He starred around.  Each of the demon-angels with fire cast red, orange, or even yellow light in their spots in the ship.  Sam was the odd one out though, with his emerald flames sticking out like a beakon of light in the night.  In the beginning, he had been seen as a bad omen, and was the last one placed in a team.  Eventually though, he found others like himself.
Seated to the right of him was a demon-angel named Ashley.  She had actually been the demon-angel next to him when he first woke up in the factory, and although they saw each other often afterwards, they never actually figured out how similar their predicaments were until a month later.  Ashley was in her more ethereal like form at the time, because of her rare ability to switch from being more demon or angel like.  The demon form was white, with piercing blue eyes and a sky blue diamond pattern running down her back.  Her more ethereal form was grey, much like Sam's, except that a sort of glowing blue "breeze" came out of it.  This was because, strangely enough, Ashley 's abilities were the opposite of the usual.  Instead of lightning or demon fire, she created cold winds and ice.  This made it hard for most demons or angels to be around her, but Sam thought that she was just fine the way she was.
To his other side were his other friends.  The first one was Melissa, who looked almost exactly like an ethereal, except her armor was a copper color, and no flames, light, or electricity came out of her.  There was a thin layer of mist around her, and this made the visor on her face a black pit.  She didn't talk much, and was the stealthiest member in  the group.  She would often fill the area with a sort of fog, and then ignite it, usually burning the scales off of demons.  She was also a master with most blades, and liked the feel of a sword in each hand.
The fourth and final member, Tucker, sat at the further end of the ship.  He was considered the "youngest" all because of his personality, voice, and of course, size.  At eight feet tall, his white and black scaled, demon like form was supposedly only a little taller than a human, making him the shortest member of their species.  He did though, have an increased version of the size control of the demons, which allowed him to grow or shrink for a certain amount of time.  At first, he been unable to control this, but now, he was a strong, but still mischievous member of the group.
Sam almost jumped out of the drop ship as a metal claw tapped his shoulder.  Ashley chuckled, and a cold breeze went by for a second.  "What are you thinking so hard about?  You look like you could blow all the demons away by just starring at them."
"Nothing, nothing.  Just about how we all ended up meeting.  It's just cool how everything turned out, you know?"
This seemed to make Ashley chuckle even more.  "Uh oh guys, he's trying to start a mushy speech!  We need to get him to stop talking before we all start thinking about friendship and rainbows and oh my gosh please stop!"
"I'll have you know that I think about a lot more than friendship."
"Like what?", Tucker asked, bouncing over.
"Um, saving the human race, closing the demon's portals into the hub, stopping the demon's, and having an awsome retirement afterwords.  Why, what do you think about?"
"Weaving, shooting things with crossbows, and knife throwing contests," Melissa said before anyone could speak.  "Also, what would you even do with retirement?  Ride off into the sunset?"
"My plans aren't that story-like!", he said, his claws tapping on the seat.
"Then what are you going to do?", Ashely asked curiously.
          "Ummm.....  Live in your basements???"
For a few seconds they were all silent.  "Sam, we've been over this...  We don't have houses, let alone basements!", Melissa said, while Ashley and Tucker laughed uncontrollably.
"I could make a house," he said, the green flames flickering a little.  You could be the lady who cleans up the rooms and cuts vegetables with your samary swords, and Tucker could play games in the yard, and Ashley could gossip and talk to everyone, and I could build stuff."
          "No Sam...  Just...  No........."

Haha, there you go.  I've introduced the main characters of the story now, but if you have any good or bad OCs, feel free to tell me.  Also, that is Ashley in the cover, in her more ethereal like form.  I'll update soon, and I promise, the story will become clear, very soon.  BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
