Chapter One
Everything was an inky black for the first few minutes of Sam's life. He wouldn't remember this part of his existence anyways. But it was significant. His large, black and grey armoured form lay on a metal table. The metal was cold, even with the raging fires outside. There were explosions and even gunfire every second, and flashes of light constantly went by the window, signaling how violent it was in the outside world.
Sam wasn't the only one in the building. A large reptilian form, still without scales lay next to him. An ethereal next to it looked out the window nervously, hearing the howling and roaring of the demons. Pressing a few buttons on a wall, a line of laser lights went down the length of the reptile, and within seconds, a thick, sharp layer of bright white scales, with blue diamond patterns in between, grew out of the muscle.
Then, there was a crash, and with a shriek, the angel leaped back as one of the windows shattered, and a demon leaped onto him. With a laugh, it breathed out a burst of crimson flames, and the ethereals armor melted away. The electricity inside zipped, zapped, and jumped through the air for a few seconds. Then, it slowly disappeared. The ethereal was dead.
The demon paced through the building, studying each individual demon-angel. Some of them were like him, although most of the reptiles were white, while his scales were midnight black. Others were much like the ethereals, with metal armor plating. They could both help the demons win the war though, with the right persuasion.
The reptile didn't notice it, but inside the suit of armor that was Sam, a small, strange green flame seemed to appear out of nowhere. It flickered off and on, slowly growing. Sam turned on his side, taking his first breath. Then, the emerald flames grew to there full intensity. He didn't no why, but he didn't like the ebony figure that was stalking away. He's not supposed to be here. He's here to do bad things. He's here to hurt the others... Sam looked at the other demon-angels around him. The one next to him was still asleep. They were all still asleep.
Before Sam knew what he was doing, he slid off the table, his metal clawed feet and hands making a small clinging noise. With a small growl, he leaped across the room, and raising one of his hands in the air, emerald flames forming around the claws, he brought his fist down on the reptiles head.
