He held her as she silently sobbed into his shoulder. She didn't expect her reaction to her uncle's execution to be this.

Mahdi and Sera were in Sera's room. They were both still in their nice clothing, but Merrow's crown was placed safely away. Sera had almost completely soaked Mahdi's shoulder with her tears. Neela was going to kill her for that.

Sera pulled away from Mahdi's safe arms. Her face was red, and blotchy, and parts of her makeup was smeared. Mahdi have a small smile to her, and Sera snuffed.

"Hey. It'll be okay. Everything will be alright," Mahdi said soothingly.

"I know. It just scares me so much. Plus with Lucia still out there at large. It's too much. I can't do it Mahdi," Sera said, just about ready to start crying again.

"Hey. Des, you, me. We've been through so much. All three of us are the most powerful people in our realms. We were born to take their places one day. That day just came sooner than anyone expected. Sera, the three of us are all teenagers. None of us were ready. So you won't go through this alone Sera. You'll never have to go through it alone."

Sera wipes her eyes. "I love you so much. You know that right?"

"Yeah. I kind of figured."

Sera laughed a little before leaning in and kissing Mahdi. Mahdi deepens the kiss even more. Soon they were both left gasping. Their foreheads touched, and they shared breaths. They were both smiling and slightly laughing.

This was a perfect moment made out of a heartbreaking one. Suddenly it was like the past never happened. There was only here and now for Mahdi and Sera. They kissed again. Only this time the door opened ruining the perfect moment.

Neela swam into the room, and saw what was happening. She stopped and said, "I'll just come back in a few minutes."

Sh swam backwards, and ducked out of the room. The two broke the kiss, and watched as Neela left. They laughed.

"I guess we better get used to that," Sera said.

"Yeah no kidding," Mahdi replied.

"I better see what she needs. I'll see you later."

They kissed for the briefest moment before Mahdi moved to leave the room. He opened the door, and Neela was right there.

"Neela?" Mahdi asked.

"What? You two are just too cute to not spy on," Neela said.

She swam into the room, and Mahdi closed the door as he laughed.

"Did you need something Neela?" Sera asked.

"You two are adorable. I can't wait to see your kids," Neela said sitting down with her sketch book on her lap.

"Neela!"

"I regret nothing."
