"Thank God she's gone" Alexia mumbled to herself, pouring the last of the bleach into the washer. Closing the lid, she sighed in relief as the machine began washing her clothes. At long last, she was finally rid of the child that she once called her baby girl. A part of her felt relieved.....yet another part couldn't help but feel guilty. Perhaps it was the motherly instincts that made her feel this guilt, after all it was her choice to bring the girl back to life. "Ugh get a hold of yourself!" She said to herself, shaking the thoughts out her head. The girl was gone for good, that was all that mattered at this point. A loud crash echoed throughout the living room, causing her to jump out of fear. Grabbing the blood stained knife she hesitantly walked into the living room, body racked with fear. Stepping inside, she found nothing but a broken picture frame on the floor. It was of the young girl, dressed as her favorite animatronic character for her birthday. The memory suddenly flashed through her mind, able to hear her happy giggles and little feet tapping against the floor.
"Mama" A quiet raspy voice growled out, scaring Alexia as she dropped the picture. She whipped around, only to stand face to face with the bloddy, soaked, shivering, child that she had just stabbed hours earlier. Bunny Nova Alice Afton. She was wheezing with every breath she took, barely able to keep herself standing as she leaned against the wall for support. "You left me there all alone." Alexia was shocked, fear coursing through her body at the sight of the child. The poor girl's body was racked with severe pain and her lungs were filled with blood, making her basically gasp for each breath. "It's s-so cold mama."
Alexia felt chills run through her body as she started at the girl. She could see the pain in her eyes, causing tears to slowly fill hers. She wanted Bunny gone so badly, yet her heart couldn't get rid of the fact that she was once a loving mother to the poor girl. Then, a sudden wave of realization hit her. Through the years of being ignored, being pushed away, being verbally and even physically abused.......she never stopped loving her mother. The woman who always pushed her away from a hug. The woman who refused to feed the girl, letting her sometimes go days without a proper meal. The woman who never cared if she pulled her hair to hard, or held her underwater for to long in the bath. The woman who always called her a mistake, and who had physically hurt her. Through all that, there was never one day where the child didn't say 'I love you mama' with her bright smile. Even if she never heard those words back, she always let her mother know that she was loved dearly. She could see the girls pain so clearly in this moment, and the pure betrayal in her eyes. Bunny suddenly stumbled, losing her balance as she fell to the floor shivering. The girl was suffering so much, yet her body just didn't want to die in this moment. She was fighting to stay alive when she just wanted it to end, fighting to keep a life that she didn't want. And then, warmth flooded her body as she was pulled into a tight hug. Alexia pulled the girl closely to her chest as tears fell from her eyes. She trembled, whispering nothing but apologies into the girls ear.
"I'm so sorry Bunny." She whispered, pulling the girls head into her chest. "I'm sorry that I caused you this pain." Bunny could only sit there limp, listening to the sound of her mother's heartbeat. It was like a lullaby to her, numbing some of the pain she felt as she closed her eyes. It was like she was in the womb again, seeing nothing but hearing only her mother's heartbeat.
"I w-want you to m-make it s-stop.....please." She whispered loud enough for Alexia to hear, causing her eyes to widen. She glanced down at the girl through tears, seeing how peaceful she looked. Even through her pain, she managed to hold back the tears and keep a straight face. "I don't wanna hurt anymore, I just want it to be over." She opened her eyes, looking Alexia in the eyes. Tears began to fall, the pain corrupting her fully at this point. Seeing her in so much pain, Alexia couldn't help but to wanna end her misery. Without a word, she reached underneath the couch and pulled out a small handgun, kept there for their protection in case they were in danger.
"Anything f-for my little p-princess." She said, putting it to the side of the girls head. Her hand shoot as she set her finger over the trigger. "Y-you'll be put into a new and better life when you wake up in heaven." She said, giving her a kiss on the forehead. Tears flowed freely down her face as she hesitated to pull the trigger. "I love you Bunny."
"I love you too mama."
Bang.
