Chapter 81

Not sure if anyone else heard this, but Grant Gustin has expressed interest in playing Barry Allen again in the new DCU franchise. If you also think that's a good idea like I do, please help spread the word.

After Team Flash rescued Ralph from the bunker Stagg was holding him in, he was recovering in the medical bay while Team Flash discussed what to do with him.

"Should we bring Ralph into the fold?" Iris asked.

"Not yet. For one thing, we don't even know if that's something Ralph wants and for another, I won't be convinced that Ralph's really changed until I see it for myself. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt, especially since he's not leaving quarantine until we know exactly what Stagg did to him." Barry said.

"I'm going over the research you took from Stagg Industries and it looks like whatever Stagg did to him is permanent. Especially since it looks part of the reason the process worked in the first place is that it triggered Ralph's dormant metagene. Though how Stagg was able to control the outcome, I don't know. But it looks like Ralph can now alter his molecular structure to mimic any element on the periodic table. Honestly, there's no telling what he can do now." Caitlin said.

"Which is why he's going to be training with the Flash until I know he can control his powers and he won't cause trouble with them." Barry said.

"Good call. Especially since with the settlement he's going to be getting from Stagg, plus Sapphire's inheritance of whatever money Stagg has left after all the lawsuits against him and his company are settled, he'll never have to work again." Joe said, since in addition to prosecuting Stagg for his criminal charges, Cecille was also going to be the lawyer representing the class action lawsuit against Stagg for everyone he'd stolen from over the years.

"Yeah, I hear there's already news of Stagg going bankrupt from this." Cisco said.

"And knowing Kara, the second she finds out about it, she'll pounce on the opportunity to expand her empire." Barry said, since a long running joke in the Justice League was that Kara was trying to take over the world through Argo Enterprises.

"Wouldn't surprise me. After all, I'm pretty sure Dr. McGee is just going to sell Mercury Labs to her former protege when she retires, she already owns Star Labs and Kord Industries here in Central City, not to mention she also bought LexCorp in Metropolis, along with Kord Industries HQ in Palermo City, basically the only tech companies that are still anywhere close to competing with her are Wayne Enterprises and Queen Consolidated and if the gossip is true, those companies are going to be merging at some point in the future." Caitlin said.

"What gossip?" Cisco asked, once again hating when Caitlin showed off knowing things he didn't know about the superhero world.

"It's not exactly a secret that Oliver Queen's sister is dating Bruce Wayne's daughter. The rumor is that if they get married, Oliver and Bruce are just going to merge their companies." Barry said.

"Oh, that's what you're talking about, I read that in Catco's gossip column." Iris said and Barry nodded.

"Anyways, we should probably get going, since I'm already likely gonna get read the riot act for missing an omega level League alert because of this case, I'm not gonna get in more trouble because I missed Supergirl's birthday party." Barry said, since all founding members of the League were invited.

"I still can't believe you and Jesse were invited and I wasn't." Caitlin said, since she was a Justice Leaguer, just like Barry.

"We can't leave the city and the world unprotected. I think the only time we'll run the risk of that happening is at Kara and Lena's wedding, since there's no way they'll be able to get out of inviting the entire league to its leader's wedding. Besides, Kara and I founded the League together and Jesse is one of Kara's most trusted friends at Argo Enterprises. Who knows, maybe Cisco will get invited soon, since I hear he's slated to be the new head of the Central City division of Argo Enterprises since Jesse's transferred." Barry said.

"Not to mention you said you'd put me up for a vote at the next meeting." Cisco said and Barry nodded.

"Can't guarantee you'll get in though. Caitlin's in charge until we get back" Barry said, since Caitlin was second in command of Team Flash, since not only was she a fellow member of the Justice League, but she was also Barry's sister and a field agent, before he and Iris moved to leave, only for Barry to be pulled to the side by Gabby.

"Go on ahead, I'll catch up." Barry said and Iris nodded.

"What's going on?" Barry asked.

"I just needed to talk to you about something personal. Or I guess ask you something personal." Gabby said.

"What's going on?" Barry asked.

"I wanted to ask your opinion on something." Gabby said.

"And that would be?" Barry asked.

"If I have your blessing to ask Caitlin to marry me after the bouquet toss at your wedding." Gabby said, since she'd already talked to Iris, who was already planning on aiming for Gabby when she threw her bouquet.

Barry smiled, since he'd honestly been expecting this.

"Yes, you have my blessing, not that you need it." Barry said.

"You're the most important person in Caitlin's life besides me and your parents and I wanted to get your approval before I got it from your parents." Gabby said.

"You have it, even though you did just cost five bucks." Barry said.

"You and Iris had a bet on which of us would propose first?" Gabby asked, not at all surprised.

"Pretty much. Caitlin's my sister and I want her to be happy and you're basically Iris's sister after what you two went through while you were deployed. You're already family, this will just make it official." Barry said and Gabby smiled.

"Thanks Barry. Even though most of my biological family won't be at the wedding, at least I'll be marrying into one that loves me. Assuming Caitlin says yes." Gabby said.

"She will. But now I need to go." Barry said as he left.
