"That is A student's primary duty here after all" Ameri told her with a gentle smile "for the moment, why don't you make it your objective to become a Bet?"  She suggested

Nanako kizuki, age fourteen. One day she found herself the granddaughter of the demon named Sullivan, Sullivan loves and spoils Nanako, and is even sending her to the most prestigious school in the land, but there's just one problem, the school Nanako's attending, just so happens to be the demon school known Babyls.

'I can't ever let them find out I'm human, or I'm gonna end up eaten for sure!' Nanako thought while she was surrounded by demons.

"You want to climb the ranks?" Asmodues asked surprised "Yeah, I do. For now, I just want to climb from Alef to Bet. So I was hoping you could show me how to." Nanako ask causing Asmodeus to suddenly stand up from the bench and cry. " Azz?!" She exclaimed worried, He then turns his back towards her, ' I almost thought that lady Nanako had no interest in rising in the ranks, but I knew it must've been secretly eating away at her...' Nanako looked at him worried " what's wrong?! Are you okay?!" The memory of the guardian of cutthroat vally came to his mind' And why wouldn't it be! Lady Nanako did something as unprecedented as making the Guardian of Cutthroat Valley her pet, yet her rank was immeasurable! She obviously can't be ranked on the same scale as the rest of us demons, but that's no reason to place her at the lowest rank of Alef!' Asmodeus thought ready to help, turning back to face her

Asmodeus grabs her hands, surprising her "beloved believe me when you were ranked as an Alef, I was just as displeased and confused as well! I was becoming numb from all of our degenerate classmates who lack ambition, but moving up the ranks is a demon's pure pride! Let get you to the top! Now, its time to prepare!" Asmodeus proclaims with a determination in his voice that makes her sweatdrop. "S-Sure." Nanako agree nervously, woundering if she should have opened her mouth in the first place

Just then Clara rose her head from the table from her nap "Prepare for what?" Clara asked tilting her head, Just the Iruma arrived with his tray " hey guys what are we talking about?"Asmodeus answered with any hesitation. "What else?!" Asmodues exclaimed making the others eyes widened "For lady Nanako to shore to the highest rank of Yodh and then...reign over... The entirely of Babyls!" 

"What!?" the three exclaimed, well clara was more excited, but Iruma and nanako seemed to be on the same page

And it's just the girls luck, that other students were around to hear your plan of school domination.

"what the what?!"

  " that's crazy ambitious!"

"Another legend's about to be born!"

Not to far a familiar blond girl was clenching her hands together  "I have no doubt nanako can do it!" Eiko said admiring her, Clara then spoke to com com the shop keeper " promotion please!"

" no go away" he glared narrowing his eyes

"Azz, I'm fine with just being a Bet!" nanako said worried that his little speech was gonna do more bad than good on her "Huh? B-But" Asmodeus gasps, as if he just realized something. 'No, this is lady nanako we're talking about. I'm sure she has some profound reason my feble little mind  could never even fathom.' He gets down on one knee, "I apologize for my deployable presumtuousness." 

"Hey, don't worry about it! But Azz-kun could we stop standing ou-"  Asmodeus ignores her words and outstretches his arms to face the other students, who have been watching. "Now, lady nanako will prepare to rise up to the respective rank of Bet. Make way!" He commanded As dread arua flew over the crimson girls head

"Really! Just Bet?"

"That's not very ambitious"

"Who cares?! Ths is still gonna be crazy." 

"I'm devi psyched for it!" 

Eiko gasped " oh! What should I do?! If nanako goes up to Bet, we won't be the same rank anymore!"Her demon dragon friend said  " you can try moving up too you know"Also, not to far the same girl with short white hair in the misgit class clenched both her hands, Elsewhere shax heard the while thing and was pondering to himself " that sounds like fun" he smiled "Now, let usg quickly beloved." Asmodeus said with a gleam in his eyes as he took her hand in his " l-lets just go before we cause another scene" iruma stuttered" uh...sure..." she smiled sheepisly "Wait, wait!" the three stopped, looking back at Come-Come, the school store's owner, approaching.

And of course, carrying his bamboo spear with Clara sitting on top."Take her away." He demanded, most likely she got into trouble messing with his stuff again. "Yeah! Take me away! Come on do it! Do it!" Clara roared, Nanako siged, stretched her arms signaling for a hug to get Clara of the spear, Who launched herself at the girl and gripped her happily

Time skip

the group was walking down an underground path "hey, Where are we?" nanako asked out of curiosity "This is Babyls' underground gym." Asmodeus explained, below was a large space, with a giant square with a line drawn through the middle, plus a circle on the ground in the centre of the area "Wow, we never knew a place like this existed under our classrooms." Nanako says surprised " I'm blown away"

"It's huge!" Clara exclaimed in excitement "Hey Connor! Murf! You can run around all you want down here!" She says as the shows eyes blinked red and blue "And I'm Roll...ing-g-g-g-g-g-g-g!" Clara rolls down the path, directly to the gym field "Um Clara i don't think that's running..." the crimson haired girl said sweatdropping" haha.." Iruma smiled sheepishly "she vexes me so." asmodeus tilted his head down annoyed

Time skip

Asmoduee raised his finger and began explaining everything " now then, There is currently but one way for you to go up a rank, My Lady. And that's is to get good marks on the periodic promotion exams we have in class, so we have out work cut out for us."

"Promotion?" nanako began " exams?" clara finished" thats right, and the next promotion exam is only a week. The ability we'll be tested on is....execution cannonball."  Asmodeus proclaimed"Execution?" Iruma this time says"cannibal?" clara says by mistake " cannonball! Can you even pretend to try?!" asmodeus exclaimed while iruma and nanako smiled sheepishly "Execution cannonball was once used as a test to repress a sudden outbreak of demons battling over their territories. It was nothing short of a total massacre! We used weapons called claimant, when they bite down on they're prey, they wouldn't let go until their blood shreds were left. The first of them to enters their enemy's castle and eliminates everyone inside Would emerge victorius." Asmodeus explanation as the color drained from nanako's cheeks "T-That's horrifying!" she squeaked "Indeed. But due to the high casualties...we simply use this ball now and blew off caiman's, it's safer." He showng a light green ball.

" that's doable!" nanako says determined "And to conserve time and money, we are now using these territories marked by lines instead of castles!" he threw his arms out, featuring to the marked floor behind him" that's effective!" she gave a thumbs up"Those who are hit must move to the sidelines!" he says pointing to the outer field "Makes sence" nanako nods" let's get this thing started!" clara cheered while standing outside the field "But even from the sidelines you can come back in as soon as you hit an enemy with the ball." asmoduew finishes then turns to clara "valac, you conquer up the curse puppets so we have enough players"

" you got it!" she tapped her little smiley faces, And four jumped out posing "Alright! practice begins now!" asmodeus announced

" alright👍" nanako fist pumped, The teams went like this: two of the cursed puppets, iruma  and Asmodeus were facing off against clara, nanako, and two other cursed puppets, A cursed puppet throws the ball in nanako's direction, but because of her ability she was able to dodge it, Asmodeus moved to grab the ball and toss it back to the other team.

Clara laughed as she caught the ball before rolling on the ground, she gets back on his feet and tosses it to a cursed puppet, one actually cheered him on from the back.  "Cursed!" One of the cursed puppets yelled as it had it's face smashed with the green ball, Asmodeus held the ball in his hand as he faced one of the cursed dolls, "here I go!" 

"Yay!" nanako cheered as she high fived a cursed puppet on with a content expression on her face, She laughed as she held the green ball in her free hand, enjoying the fun activity with her friends. Her face quickly became one of realization, 'this is just dodgeball!' she exclaimed, The ball dropped from her hands to the ground and she slammed her fists into the ground 'I mean, I figured it out gradually during the explanation, but...' she sulked at her slowness

"Cursed?" one of the dolls kneels down to her " what is something wrong?" Iruma asked"I'm really not letting my guard down anymore! Then again, the netherworld really is laid-back every once in a while. If we're just going to play dodgeball, then even i can-" nanako thoughts were interrupted but a ball flying past her at great speed and crashes into the stone wall " Ahh!!" she turned to the person who threw it who happened to be a familiar tall blond

"S-Sabnock!" she exclaimed "A battle to the death to climb the ranks... I'd expect nothing less from my one and onl-" Before Sabnock could finish his sentence, the ball he just thrown, hits his face at full force "How dare you try to hit lady nanako! I'll end you!" Asmodeus said angry with another ball in hand. "Ohoh we shall we have a duel of eachothers might!" Both demons we're fired up as sparks flew between them.

"Oh they're you are, we're bored, so how about letting us play too!" the voice of Jazz caught the group attention, They looked over and saw the entire Misfit Class walking towards them.  "Let's play! Let's us play" both elizabetta and Shax chanted together "Harmony is the greatest of virtues" Allocer mentioned to everyone.  "this is such an annoying pain..." Agares yawned he floated on his cloud like always " oh hey guys!" nanako says surprised

After the two demons fight, everyone else got into they're positions, Sabnock then recovered quicker than Asmodeus from their little spat and throws a ball. " haha! Get ready for maximum merriment!" Gaap unsheathes his katana, the blade was made out of wind itself. "Secret Technique... Wind-Sword Kill!" He splits the ball into half, One half is flying towards Keroli and the other towards Picero. 

Keroli protects herself by enclosing it in an ice crystal and Picero by creating rock stalagmites and blocks the half of the ball that way " so loud!" he whined " I'm not done yet!" sabnock yells, raisbg the ball " take this and this and this!!!!!" Sabnock throws a dozen or more at lightning speed all over the place. " check it out" jazz says to shax as they watched at a safe distance, which has laughs " you boys want some candies?" Clara offered some

" huh?"throughout the whole thing, nanako stood there nervously watching from a distance, with her handover her mouth 'I take it back. This isn't laid-back at all!' she thought

" I'll be waiting, alright?"Ameri's words pop into her head

Nanako held her head down in shame "I'm sorry, Ameri. I don't think, I'll be able to climb the ranks like this... Training's not exactly going to help me out here if I can't match the strenght." she sighed feeling a little depressed "Did you say Training, lady nanako?" Asmodeus asked, "Huh?!" she flinched at the sound of his voice so close, she was so lost in thought she hadn't even noticed him walking to her "You must want to train!" The excitement in his eyes caused her to have a lost for words "There is a possibility that you'll attain a inmessurable rank again lady nanako." He says pondering, resting his index and thumb under his chin "We need to be extra careful. But I'm concerned I won't be a substantial opponent for your training. Why don't you discuss this matter with someone whos of a much higher rank?" He suggested "A high-ranking demon?" nanako asked not sure who that would be exactly

"Yes. It's someone your quite familiar with lady nanako." Asmodeus stated.

"Who's that?" she asked tilting her head

Inside the Chair-Demon's office,  nanako stood in front of his desk as lightning flashed form beside Sullivan"I see now...... If you please, and don't mince words Tell me more about this training." He said in a deep and serious voice, Meanwhile, Kalego is standing in the classroom annoyed because he wants to start his lesson, but his students hadn't shown up. "Where the hell did those little heathens go?!" Kalego yells

Friend or foe, Nanako is completely surrounded by demons,The difference in strength between nanako and the others is beyond evident.

'There's nothing else I could possibly do about this right now...So..." she sweatdropped

Back at the house

"Thank you for training me, Chair-Demon." Nanako says as the two stood outside in the yard "How many times must I tell you, You're supposed to call me Grandpa outside of school! Why do you think we bothered coming back home to do this my girl?" He pouted with a cute huff, She couldn't help but giggle. "Oh Sorry!"she smiled sheepishly ' I thought we came back here to training?' He then stood next to her in chibi form "Okay, let's give it a light throw how about that?" Sullivan hands her a ball.

He points at a large boulder. "Aim for that rock." Sullivan said smiling "Uh.,.that looks pretty far...Um..grandpa, I have something to tell you. I'm really bad at throwing, I've always been super clumsy and my aiming is usually off." She admitted, slumping her shoulders, Sullivan simply smiled and patted her head"Oh You'll be fine as long as you do just as I say. Stand just a little bit wider" he instructed " uh." Nanako did as he said "Is this right?" She asked "Yes, perfect! Also Don't stiffen your right arm too much" oh okay" "Now, give it a hurl!" Nanako looked at the ball, then at the rock " I was imagining some crazy Orthodox technique, but this is basically just dodge ball"  she took a breath before raising it up  with determined look " okay I'll give it a shot!"

"Oh, when you throw,  yell, Libera!." Sullivan instructed".......Wait, what?" Nanako had a look of uncertainty and confusion, but did what he instructed, Before throwing she yelled "Libera!" Once the words leave her mouth, she felt the weird pulsing, combined with ring glowed pink, as a dark pink dragon engulf the ball and was flying towards the boulder, causing quite a lot of damage to it. "Woo!" Sullivan seemed proud while Nanako mouth dropped in shock.

"Well done. You'll annihilate them, no doubt. Training is over." Sullivan said satisfied "What! This is a terrible mistake I can't  use magic!" She exclaimed "Aw, but why not? It's so easy." Sullivan asked, "um!" Sullivan tilts his head " hmm?"

"What I mean is, I would be your power, Grandpa, and I can't...cheat..." she stated "It's important, that I find a way to do this on my own. So no magic." She explained, Th older man hummed, before responding with a small chuckle " admirable, But that will put you at distinct disadvantage" he says as he takes her hand "Therefore child..." she watched as His hands emits a soft, yellow. "I just strengthened your hands a little bit, that way you at least catch any ball a demon might throw at you. I'm a firm believer in a level playing field" nanako looked surprised at forst, but then smiled  "Thank you, Grandpa!"

  "Wholesome..." Sullivan hugs himself and trembles a little bit, worrying her. "W-What's wrong?" Nanako asked worried that something may have happened with the him when he used his magic "I'm saving that image into my heart's memory. I need to make sure I put a file lock on it." He snickered "Memo...a lock? Pfff hahahaha! Grampa you're so silly." She smiled sheepishly and he laughed at the memory "Devi, devi, devi! Okay, I'll be going now. Don't worry about anything. If you really want to train without using magic, I know of a much better teacher for you."

She looked at him confused, Until she saw Opera appears pushing a cart, loaded with the green balls. "From here on out I shall now take over your mentorship." They stated

" opera!"

"Okay, I'm leaving the rest to you!" Sullivan leaves and waves goodbye "Do your best!" He momentarily stops walking as he remembers her bright smile as he walked in deep thought ' this brings back memories, I've got to hurry and fix her memories, she didn't even realise her powers worked in sync with the ring, Ive got to hurry before they arrive....even the littlest one...' he sweat dropped ' they're still gonna be mad I didn't inform them sooner...'

"Okay, Let us begin," Opera said throwing the balls towards her, at a ridiculous speed " whoa!!!!" She exclaimed, barley dodging the first " hang on! Give me a second!"and the rest of them all with great evasion " time stops for no one" they said plainly, they continued throwing them as the little bat in the cart passed them " hold up! Wait! I'm begging you! Opera!..." finally it had ended, leaving nanako on the ground panting exhausted

"Just as I thought, you are true master at evasion lady nanako, but if you want to move up the ranks you have to do more than that, you must actually be able to hit your foe." Opera stated " oh..is that all?" She asked panting" correct" they says, then gets handed another ball " first let's try catching a ball, as much as this pains me, I'm going to keep throwing them"

"Ahhh!" Nanako once again continued dodging" wait! This is crazy!" She exclaimed

"Oh, This pains me so" Opera spoke in a monotone voice and they're expression "There's no expression on your face what so ever!...." she exclaimed, she really did  like Opera, they're hard to read" I'm doing this so you don't get hurt in a real match" he said with a serious tone, which she shivered " and if truly wish to ascend to a higher ranks it will means even more stringent guidance drills, prepare yourself accordingly" Opera says warning of  

After hours of dodging the ball, sunset had arrived, and nanako was beyond exhausted "That will be all for today." Opera packed up everything and went back inside, nanako on the ground defeated " okay...." her voice raspy

Time skip

Nanako sat on her bed, holding the ball in her hands pondering "Catch this, but how?" She wondered frowning, Just then her phone buzzed, she looked and saw it was Azz started texting

Azz: my beloved, how goes your training?

Azz:please allow me to offer my support

Azz: After all, you are my beloved future bewlg

Azz. No need to reply, I'm just honoured you read my messages. 

Clara: Go go, na-na! Demi, Demi go, go!  Clara sent tons of cute stickers. 

Iruma: good luck nanako!

Azz: Even here you interrupt my chances with my beloved! 

Nanako couldn't help laughed at their antics. "Clara, Azz, iruma... you guys..." nanako spoke, then Closed her eyes smiling ' thank you...' A thought then came to her about another friend "ohh! I should properly report back to ameri too." She said

Next day

Her friends came to home to support her in her trading" my beloved nanako!" Azz beamed cheering "Fight fight fight fight!" Clara started pushing at Azz in excitement " you can do this!" Iruma cheered, hands cupped near his mouth, Nanako had woken up early to trained at the time Azz, Clara and iruma came over to cheer her on "Today. We shall continue our catching lessons" opera says"Right!" She nodded determined

Opera threw the ball, it came to her face making her flinch with a squeak but before it hit her, it Froze, pausing in midair "Whenever the ball is about to hit your face, I will stop it like so. Rather than dodging it. Try to it." They say

"Got it." She said nodding

Opera begins by throwing two of the green balls, but nanako's self-conscious along with instinct dodge them, Opera pulls her cheek scolding her, "I'm sorry! I can't help it! my body has a mind of its own." She pouted sadly, they let's go "Please Listen, you have to keep your eye on the ball and truly concentrate," Opera said "now let's try it again milady nanako." Opera exclaimed "Right!" She says determined " one two! Catch!" Opera launches a ball at her 'just keep my eyes, on the-ball!' But she flinch back and sadly evading it.

Next

" now grab it quickly!" Opera yelled, throwing another, but dodged again ' I can't do it!' She cried in fear"beloved!" Azz exclaimed wide eyed " don't give up nanako!" Iruma yelled "Come on!" Clara adds in, After hearing they're voices, nanako snapped out of it and stood tall, as another was thrown she did something she didn't expect, she it smacked her palm, it blows past her, Azz, iruma and Clara gazed astonished at the sudden improvement, opera's ear twitched "That's the spirit." Opera says " ground your lower body and focus harder!"

Nanako took off her top revealing a black undershirt, then tied her hair long red hair up in a ponytail."Right!" She yelled with a fierce look of determination

Meanwhile

Ameri gazes upon the forbidden bookshelf in her hidden compartment, aka the first love memories manga

'Nanako has begun her training' she placed her hand against the shelf of books ' so we have to put the reading of the forbidden text on hold, it's inevitable' she closed her eyes 'I shall wait until her exam is complete, Good luck nanako' She said in thought

On her desk her phone sat with message

'My hellish training begins' on a sticker

'Indeed' she had replied back

Back at home

Nanako was sitting on the ground doing sits ups with Opera holding her legs down for support " yes! Strengthen those muscles!"The other three stand next to them with fans that looked like Conner and murf " you can do it!" Azz cheered, followed but Clara and iruma " come on! Fight!" " don't give up!" Next she was doing push ups, and boy it looked extremely painful, her face cringing and her arms shaking, just then She fell as a weight was added, which was Clara sitting on her back " you got this nana! Lift me up higher!" She smiled

"Will you stop interfering!!!" Azz exclaimed in anger"Clara get off! Your breaking Her back!!!" Iruma exclaimed as Nanako fell to the ground ,a king the boys panic, Sunset had come and nanako was jogging with opera behind with a megaphone " faster! Move it!" She kept going thinking of the same word' catch!'Even on rainy days she was jogging, but Azz was with her carrying a umbrella over her head ' catch!'It was before school started nanako was jogging, she had gained speed as she ran ahead, opera came to a slow stop as the megaphone was lowered from they're face.' Catch!'

Time skip

She was in the Misfit gym, eating the large meal prepared, she started gulping it all one by one "Beloved?" Azz approached, gaining her attention " here, some water" he stood there holding out a bottle of water " aww Azz thank you!" Just then Clara rushed over with a big bowl of food " here's more food, keep eating!"
Iruma appeared as well " if you need more water let me know I'll summon some!" He smiled " I see your appetite is healthy" Azz comments also smiling
" yeah I guess!" Nanako smiled sheepishly as She gratefully accept it, but as it slides out of her palm along with her winching, The three gasp in shock at the sight of her hands, they were covered in tiny bruises and cuts "My Eternal blossom! Your hands! Oh they're wounded so graviously!
Will you be alright?" Azz asked in worry

"It's fine the ball will actually hit my hand about half the time now. Azz don't worry too much about it." She assured to ease his nervous " also I think I'm finally starting to recognise all of opera's different moods" she says excitedly standing up " when they're kitty ears droop they're in a bad mood, when the ears are plated up they're in a good mood!" She chimed as a picture showing opera's ears lowering and rising appeared on screen

" oh~" Clara says

"Interesting" Azz smiled lovingly at her cuteness, Nanako went back to training, currently she was holding the ball above her head while the three watched in the back " catch It, catch it" Clara turned to the other two " she's amazing isn't she?" She asked smiling" yeah, Demons usually bore easily, yet here she is, she's one of a kind" Iruma replied back with the same expression " indeed..." Azz says making them both look at him confused " lady nanako is...Uniquely eccentric " he smiled while blushing " okay! Back to training I go!" She says determined with a fist bump"Yeah!" The other three cheered

Clara summoned more of those green balls for her, while on the side lines Azz Taught her the dodgeball arena and the rules, And Iruma supplied the water for everyone

Time skip

At home, nanako went straight to bed sleeping soundly, after how much energy and strength she put into her training, she was out like a lamp, Outside Opera and Grandpa look at her and the effort she put in to reach this far " she's clearly worked hard again today.." sullivan says, then changes his mood to happy " so how is the training going? Do you think she'll make it in time?" He asked

"She still has to catch the ball even once" opera says, which sullivan panicked " oh no! Is she going to succeed, Will she be able to do it!?"

" however...."opera says, which sullivan clams down listening " she seems to be having more and more fun everyday"

" well that's wonderful" he smiled

" oh it almost slipped my mind" opera says, making sullivan look at him confused " there is word from lady moira and the others, they're aware of mistress nanako's presence at the manor" they states, which the chair demon flinched" w-what?! How did they find out?!" He exclaimed in chibi form " she felt her presences through her aura, even with her magic signature sealed, either through anger it will show, or any other stronger demon will sense it" opera explained

" w-well W-what did they say?...." sullivan asked with a dreadful look on his face " they aren't very happy you didn't share her return, and four of the children are on they're way home" opera informed " NOOOO!!!!! Nows a very bad time!!! She doesn't remember yet!!!!" He exclaimed In panic

Next day

The next day before the promotion exam, Nanako stood outside ready to catch the ball ' I'm almost there' she thought " the exam is tomorrow time to give it your all!" Opera holds two execution balls, and her three friends stood on the sidelines cheering her on, Opera threw one ball, but she dodges it completely, One eye is opened as she looked back to the flying ball, 'just a little more!' she thought as she moved to get prepared, but her body stuttered a bit.

"Beloved!"

" Nanako!"

"Nana!"

Her friends called out in worry, The girl can hear her heart beat as her eyes widen, 'this is it' she thought as she moved her attention back to Opera, "another one!"
"Here they come" the red head butler then proceeds to throw one green ball after another at her, She lowered her body as her eyes focused on one ball, 'get down, ground my lower body....and then' her eyes widen as she felt her body move to the side, dodging the ball.

Opera held a ball to their chest as a small sweat formed on their cheek, "keep your eyes on the ball!" She grunted, before her eyes were forced open by her, she turned her head to see a ball flying straight toward her 'Keep my eyes....on the ball!" The two audience gasped as they watched her, she moved a hand toward the flying object.' make sure...' Even opera had a smal proud smile morph onto they're face ' to watch the ball!!!' Nanako jumped up and to they're surprise, caught the ball with both her hands " oh wow..." the three said in awe at the girl who was shocked by her own actions, but then looked up with the ball on her hands " yes I got it!!!!" She exclaimed in pure joy

"That was splendid!" Azz cheered as the three rushed over " you were incredible!" Iruma exclaimed "High-five Demi! High-five Demi!" Clara shouted giving her a hand up " high five!" place her bruised palm in her hand as she did with Iruma "wait a minute! Don't touch my beloved hand when they're gravely injured!" Azz cried out "Aww Azz. I'm fine seriously. Did you Wanna high-five too?" She asked Asmodeus, who blushed shyly "Oh, may I?" Asmodeus lifted a hand as he gently moved his hand onto hers, who presses her hand slightly into his.
