Chapter 10
It was now ten weeks before they were to take their exams, Myla was running late for charms class due to oversleeping, and she was running as fast as she could without giving anyone a reason to take away points.
"Late for class Lala Myla?" Peeves asked appearing to make her jump, he cackled loudly.
"So it seems," Myla said as she tried to get around the poltergeist.
"I know a secret passage but only if you pull a prank big enough to impress me," Peeves said as he flipped backward.
"I don't time for that tight now," Myla denied as she crossed her arms. "I need to get to charms."
"Tsk tsk," Peeves shook his head, he dropped chalk pieces on her before going through the wall. Myla blinked in frustration before heading to Charms.
"This is unusual," Professor Flitwick said once Myla entered the class. "Please take a seat, and we'll discuss it after class."
"Yes, sir," Myla nodded and quickly plopped next to Draco, on the other side of him was Marco. They all silently listened and wrote down things as Flitwick spoke for the next thirty minutes, then they were put together in teams of two for bookwork.
"Where's Pansy?" Myla asked flipping the page.
"Flu," Draco answered flipping the page back.
"Never got to compliment the black eye my brother gave you," Myla said as she flipped the page,
"It was nothing to compliment," Draco grunted flipping the page, and ripping it.
"You moron Malfoy," Myla groaned snatching the page from him.
"Are you going to run to your mommy?" Draco asked as he took the page back.
"Might just stick my wand down your throat," Myla threatened, taking the page back, but Draco wasn't letting go. "Give it back."
"You keep going ahead," Draco argued as he tugged on the page.
"Maybe you shouldn't work so slow," Myla said as she tugged. They started to argue with the page, tugging back and forth, until finally, Myla let go. Draco grabbed her shirt taking her down as he flew back and out of his seat.
"Merlin!" Flitwick squeaked from across the room. "Mr. Malfoy! Ms. Weasley! What are you two doing?" He looked to the other side to see Draco and Myla wrestling each other.
"She keeps going too fast," Draco argued as she pinned him down.
"He keeps going too slow," Myla argued as Draco suddenly flipped so he'd be the one pinning her down.
"Detention both of you!" Flitwick shouted.
The two stopped fighting. "Detention?"
"Two if you keep it up," Flitwick threatened. "See me both after class." They all ended up working silently for the rest of the class, Myla and Draco had to work together in silence. Once class ended, Draco and Myla stood in front of Professor Flitwick. "The behavior you both showed is highly unacceptable." Draco and Myla both didn't dare look at each other. "Please, you have six more years in this school together."
"He's impossible," Myla argued. "All he ever does is go around picking on people, making their lives miserable."
"She's the unbearable one," Draco argued. "Her stupid voice makes me want to rip out my eardrums and feed them to dragons."
Flitwick looked at Myla. "Why were you late to class, Ms. Weasley?"
Myla looked at him. "I stayed up too late studying resulting in oversleeping."
"Ms. Weasley, you know it's essential to get a good night's sleep if you want to succeed," Flitwick said with a frown.
"Exams are coming up sir," Myla said. "I want to be prepared; been reviewing things from the beginning of the semester."
"Make sure to make a better study schedule Ms. Weasley," Flitwick ordered. "Remember not everyone goes at the same pace, so if Mr. Malfoy needs extra time on a page then be patient."
"Are you saying I'm slow?" Draco asked.
Flitwick looked at him. "You both are brilliant bright students, who have different speeds when retaining information. Teaming you up in pairs is meant to teach everyone how to work together despite differences." The two looked at each other in annoyance. "To make sure the message gets through, today after dinner, you two be cleaning an unused bathroom on the sixth floor."
"That's servant work," Draco said in disgust.
"You are never going to get a girlfriend with that attitude," Myla commented.
"Professor!" Draco exclaimed.
"You two can work out your issues during detention," Flitwick confirmed with a smile.
After class, Myla sat in the courtyard in a sour mood.
"You did bring it on yourself," Ron said. "Detention is detention."
"I don't hate detention," Myla informed. "Having it with Malfoy is going to be a nightmare."
"Stick his head down the toilet," Harry suggested, they looked at him. "Just a suggestion."
"Don't kill him," Hermione requested. "You'll put a stain on Gryffindor's reputation." This time they all looked at her.

Detention came around, Myla and Draco stood in an unused bathroom with Filch, he had cleaning supplies and two buckets.
"This place better be clean when I come back," Filch threatened. "Two hours and don't kill each other. Ms. Norris and I will be checking on you." With that, he left; Myla immediately got to work while Draco just stared at himself in the mirror. Myla nudged him with the mop.
"Why you?" Draco demanded in disgust; he looked at his back and then at her. "How dare you?"
"We are supposed to be doing this together," Myla reminded him. "Do your share."
"You can't tell me what to do," Draco sneered as he turned around. "I'd rather eat owl crap than clean bathrooms."
"Then let's put it to the test," Myla said. "Stick your head in the toilet." Draco's eyes widened, and they stared at each other until Draco started his share in the bathroom.
"I'm sorry about your book," Draco apologized as he cleaned the windows. "Didn't mean to rip."
"I'm sorry for not being patient," Myla said as she went to mop the next stall.
"Did you mean?" Draco asked as he looked over to the stalls; Myla didn't respond. "Did you mean when you said I'd never get a girlfriend?"
"Who would want to kiss you?" Myla asked stepping out of the stall. "They gotta be bonkers." This made Draco irritated as Myla walked over. "Maybe a pureblood with prejudice; but they could just be kissing you out of duty rather than desire."
"People are just going to want to kiss you due to wanting fame," Draco said.
"That is a possibility," Myla agreed as they stopped in front of her. "But I could also be going around kissing people just because."Draco looked at the door and then back at her.
"How about we kiss each other?" Draco asked.
"Ew," Myla grunted as she backed up. "Gross."
"I'm not exactly thrilled to be kissing a furball either," Draco said as he looked at her up and down. "I thought Gryffindors were supposed to be brave." In irritation, Myla stepped forward grabbing him by the collar.
"Speak a word of this to anyone and I will drown you in here," Myla threatened.
"I would never ruin my reputation because of you," Draco said. "I'd get disowned." Myla pulled him down to her, closing her eyes, Draco closed his eyes as they kissed for three seconds before Myla pulled back. When Draco opened his eyes, Myla was already in another stall moping. "Not a soul about this to anyone."
"It seems we both have too much on the line," Myla said; in her palm, she was staring at a pendant she took from Draco's pocket.

Saturday night came around, Myla was standing at her dorm room window, with a satchel around her. She had opened the window and was staring at it down below.
"Why are you doing this at night?" Seika asked.
"More likely to get caught during the day," Halle answered. "All she is doing is flying to Hogsmeade; meeting someone at the train station; doing an exchange and flying back."
"You make it sound so simple," Seika squeaked. "What if there is the danger? What if there is a dark wizard?"
"Then Lala will fly right out of there and back here," Halle explained. "Do you remember the pecking pattern?"
"Yes," Myla nodded.
"Now, get going," Halle ordered clapping Myla on the back. Myla turned into a kestrel and flew out, it was amazing to see everything above and down below. It didn't take her long to get to the train station; she transformed once the landing, restored to sitting on a bench. A few minutes passed by, and she kept looking around for any signs of trouble. Suddenly, a man appeared at the train station; it was a familiar face.
"Well, well," the man said walking up to her. "Never thought I'd be making deals with Charlie Weasley's little sister."
Myla broke into a smile. "Jae Kim." She got to her feet.
"How's Charlie liking Romania?" Jae asked.
"He's living the dream by working with dragons," Myla answered.
Jae smiled. "What do you got for me little Weasley?"
" A warming potion," Myla answered. "One sip and the user will have stable body heat for six hours even if they are traveling in the Arctic Circle."
Jae walked around her. "I did read the paper on it; though no one outside of Hogwarts of seen it." He then stopped. "I'm impressed that you slipped out of the castle as a first-year." Myla put her hands behind her back. "You sell it to me and then what?"
"You can use it or sell it yourself," Myla answered.
"You don't want me mentioning this to your brother do you?" Jae asked.
"Client confidentiality sort of thing," Myla answered.
"You got a deal, little Weasley," Jae agreed as he held out his hand; Myla shook it.

Ever since the kiss, Draco and Myla had grown more tolerant of each other to an extent, and Myla had done more jobs meeting different people. On top of all that, juggling cheer and the piles of homework with the upcoming exams. Easter break came in, and once again people left, but not Myla and her family, nor Harry and Hermione. Myla was on the couch working out details for a new potion or spell.
"Myla," Ron said walking up behind her. "Can you help me?"
"With what?" Myla asked.
"Studying?" Ron asked with a semi-smile. "Might be more pleased with you than Hermione.
"Sure," Myla agreed; Ron hopped onto the couch with his homework. "You want me to do your homework, don't you?"
"There's just much," Ron groaned. "I want to enjoy this break like you."
"Fine," Myla said. "What subject is this for?"
"Potions," Ron answered. "And you are the best at it."
Percy marched up to the two. "This better not be what I think it is. Everyone should be working solo, it's honest."
"Lighten up, I'm just helping Ronniekins with homework," Myla said. "Is that a crime?"
"Cheating is,'" Percy said as he looked at him in disgust. "You can study with me, Ronald."
"Or he can study with us," Fred said as he took Ron's charms homework.
"Completly blank," George teased. "You are not going to get any of this completed even if you started now." They all looked at Percy; he was not happy.
"We can all help Ron together," Percy said. "But not of us to write a thing on his papers, he can do it himself."
"You got it," Myla said with thumbs up.
"Pinhead," George and Fred said at the same time.

Break was over, and exams were weeks away. Myla had just night to Neville when she saw the golden trio walk over to the door out.
"Where are you three going?" Myla asked.
"Hagrid's," Ron answered. "Come along." Myla watched them start to walk out, she wanted to tag along, so Myla duplicated.
"I'll go up to the dorm," Myla told her duplicate. "I have no deliveries or jobs tonight, so I'll just be studying until you return to me."
"Finally," Myla's duplicate said. "I always get the boring job of studying, been meaning to get some excitement."
"Shut up and go to Hagrids with our brother, Harry, and Hermione," Myla ordered; her other duplicate blew a kiss and walked out as the real Myla went up to the door.
*
It was dark as they headed toward Hagrid's hat; he wasn't too pleased to see them when he opened the door.
"Sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today," Hagrid said as he began to close the door.
"We know about the Philosopher's Stone!" They all said together, Hagrid opened the door again; letting them in.
"We think Snape's trying to steal it," Harry said.
"Snape?" Hagrid repeated as they entered a hot room. "Blimey, you're not still on about him, are you?" The kids all sat down.
"Hagrid, we know he's after the stone," Harry said. "We just don't know why."
"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the stone," Hagrid informed. "He's not about to steal it"
"Hold on," Myla said. "Snape's one of the people protecting it?"
"Right," Hagrid confirmed. "Come on now, I'm a bit preoccupied today."
"You with Fluffy and Snape perhaps with a potion thing?" Myla asked.
"No," Hagrid denied, the others looked at each other, and a lie was told.
"Potions is Snape's strong suit, just a guess," Myla said.
"Waste of time," Hagrid said looking at her. "Ain't no one gonna get past Fluffy. Ain't a soul knows how to expect me and Dumbledore. I should have not told you that. I should have not told you that." Thankfully for Hagrid, they all got distracted by the pot rattling. Everyone gathered around as Hagrid moved an egg from the pot to the table.
"Uh, Hagrid, what exactly is that?" Harry asked.
"That? It's A--It's, Um--" Hagrid began, avoiding the answer.
"I know what that is!" Ron lit up as he looked at Myla. "Charlies sent us pictures of these." He looked at the gamekeeper. "Hagrid, how did you get one?"
" I won it," Hagrid said. "Off a stranger, I met down at the pub. Semed quite glad to get rid of it a matter of fact."
"But I thought dragon breeding was illegal," Myla said.
"Oh, don't you worry, he'll get raised here on the reserve and no one will suspect a thing," Hagrid said. Hissing and cracking sounds were made, and everyone ducked as a baby Norwegian dragon broke free.
"So cute," Myla cooed as the dragon kicked away the remaining shell pieces, it let out a screech.
"What kind of a dragon?" Hermione asked.
"A Norwegian Ridgeback. Our brother Charlie works with these in Romania," Ron answered.
"Isn't he beautiful?" Hagrid asked as the dragon looked at him. "Oh, bless him. Look, he knows his mummy." The dragon happily squealed as Hagrid petted him. "Hello, Norbet."
"Norbert?" Harry repeated.
"Yeah, well, he's got to have a game, doesn't he?" Hagrid asked. "Don't you, Norbert?" The baby dragon hiccup, accidentally setting Hagrid's beard on fire. Hagrid started to pat it out. "Well, he'll have to be trained up a bit, of course. Who's that?" They all looked out the window to see a familiar face.
"Malfoy," Harry blurted out.
"Oh, dear," Hagrid sighed. The golden trio rushed to get back to the common room, while Myla's clone simply vanished. An hour later, the trio came in, along with Neville, all silent, and everyone went up beside Ron. He walked over to find Myla sitting in front of the fire.
"What the bloody hell, Myla?" Ron demanded. "Four went out and three of us got caught, 50 points taken each and detention."
"Better than 4 taking 50 points," Myla said.
"How the hell did you get here faster than us?" Ron asked. "I could've sworn you were right behind me."
"I have a secret, but you can't share it," Myla said as she got to her feet.
"Well, spill it," Ron demanded. "How did you not get caught?"
" I sent a clone," Myla said as her duplicate stepped out, Ron's eyes widened.
"Wicked," Ron smiled; he looked at her.
"I know about Norbert," Myla said. "When my duplicate disappeared all that information came to me. It's how I've been getting all my work done."
"I'll keep secret on one condition," Ron began. "You do my homework, the majority of it due to leaving us to get caught."
"Deal," Myla said as she became one.
"You've really outdone yourself, Lala," Ron said.
"Thanks," Myla smiled. "You should get to bed before Percy makes his first attempt at murdering you."
Ron put an arm around her as they started to walk up. "Great sorceress Myla Weasley and her dorky twin brother Ronal Weasley."
"Shut up," Myla grunted. "With the money I make, I'll be able to buy each of us Weaskeys a place and everyone can live comfortably." Ron shook his head.
