Chapter 32
Draco's POV
I crumpled up the parchment and let it roll out of my hand and onto the floor. After attempting to write to my mother a few dozen times but failing, I had a nice collection of paper balls by my feet.
"Damn" I mutter as I lean over a fresh piece of parchment. I haven't a clue what to write about. What could you say to your mother whom you haven't seen in months.
I glanced out the library window and I watched the sun set. Night quickly swept across the sky and dinner started a few minutes ago. I didn't want to get up but I knew I had to. I had to go see Hermione. My Hermione.
After I picked up the parchment that I tossed on the floor and thrown it away. As I left the hallway there wasn't anyone in sight, not even one of the ghost.
I slowly walked down the stairs to the Great Hall. Just from being on the stairs I could hear the chatter of all the students that were down the stairs.
The doors to the Great Hall were wide open and the smell of food wafted out into the hall and into my nostrils. I walk in and went straight to were I saw my bushy haired brunette. Hermione had her head in a book which didn't surprise me. She didn't know I was behind her until I covered her eyes with me hands.
"Guess who" I whisper into her ear.
"Hmm who could it be?" Hermione giggles as she places her hand on top of mine. "Are you my Slytherin prince!"
"Yep" I say as I kiss her on the top of her head and removed my hands off her eyes. I sat down besides her and wrapped a protective arm around her waist. "And you're my Gryffindor princess."
"And I'm going to be sick" Ron says with a mouth full of chicken.
"You're making me sick" Harry says to Ron as he watches the food fall out of his mouth and onto his plate in disgust.
"Ron had that affect on people" Ginny laughs.
"Sod off" Ron says as he shoves some mashed potatoes into his mouth.
Everyone started to talked amongst themselves as I loaded my plate up with food. As I was taking a bite off chicken Hermione looked at me with a gentle smile.
"I love you" say says low enough so only I could hear it.
I smile and reach over to hold her hand. "I love you too."
She smiled and rubbed circles of my palm with her thumb. "Have you written her yet?"
I sigh when she brought up my mother. Hermione's intentions were good, but I wanted to go at least five minutes without thinking of my mother.
"Not yet" I say. "I don't know what to say yet."
Hermione nodded and gave me a quick peck on the lips. She gave me a small smile before turning to Ginny who was trying to get her attention by throwing little bit of rolled up bread at Hermione. There were even little bits stuck in her hair that I picked out for her.
God I love her.
