Chapter Three

Kali had Chorus first period. She loved to sing. They did things differently here then at her old school, but she didn't mind.

The teacher was really nice. His name was Mr. Fox. He seemed to really like his job. And he sure was good at it.

But, all things must come to an end, and Chorus ended after about 50 minutes. Kali walked to her locker. A kid who was texting was right next to her. He was a lot shorter then her, he looked like he was probably a Freshman. She glanced on his phone by accident and saw that he was texting a random number.

"Who are you texting." Why did she say that? She should just not talk to him. She'a trying to stay out of trouble, not get into someone's social life.

"One of my old friend's girlfriends."

"Who?" He shrugged. "Huh. Well, then. Nevermind." She would have stopped there, but he looked eager to talk to someone. He had put his phone away, so the girl probably stopped texting him. "Anyways, I'm Kali."

"Remy," He smiled after talking. He must not have very many friends.

"Cool. Nice to meet you Remy." Then she took her books and left.

Seneca sat in the Creative Writing room. The teacher called attendance, then one name, that she hadn't noticed before caught her attention. It wasn't her own.

"Lilith Sterling."

"Here," said a blonde haired girl in the back of the class said. Seneca thought of the other Lilith. It didn't seem appropriate to think of her as her Lilith. Not after what happened. She looked back over at her. She looked like she was sad.

The next day, she looked back again. She had that same sad look on her face. So she decided to talk to her. Lunch was right after this class anyways. "Hey, Lilith."

"Hey?" She said it like a question.

"Seneca. I just saw you, and you looked lovely, and wondered if you would like to have lunch with me, since you didn't seem to have anyone to sit with." Lilith said sure and they sat down.

"Thanks for sitting with me. It's not that I don't have friends. Quite the opposite actually. Ever since I posted a video of me singing on YouTube, I've been pretty popular. I just like to have a few friends who won't be mean like--nevermind. I shouldn't overwhelm you with my problems. I'm sure you have your own." Seneca would have comforted her, but there was a interruption.

The girl Seneca had exchanged numbers with, Evelyn, sat down next to Lilith and whispered something in her ear. Lilith looked shocked. "Really?" Evelyn nodded and noticed Seneca sitting there.

"Oh, hey! I didn't know you two knew each other."

"We didn't, till now."

Evelyn thought for a second. "We should all have a hang out this weekend. That would be fun. I just got a knew house with a spare room we could use. Does that sound good?"

"Well I have to work and stuff."

"Come on. It'll be fun. I can go by your work. Where is your job?"

"At a fast food place, but you don't need to go by it. What's your address?"

"*** Evermore Terrace"

"Great. I'll be there at 5 pm, okay?"

"That sounds good!" Lilith said excitedly. Evelyn smiled and left.

Lilith's looked sad again. "So before Evelyn came, you were talking about what happened with someone. Do you want to talk about it?" Lilith shrugged.

"Not here. Maybe this weekend." Seneca grinned comfortingly.

"Okay. Whatever you want."

Scintilla scrolled through channels, blowing her nose. Her sister walked in carrying grocery bags. She looked startled.

"What are you doing home?"

"I don't feel good. Screw school. If I don't want to go, I don't need to."

Kathy sat by her. "Why do you not want to go? You are normally fine going to school with a cold." Till thought. She didn't have any problems with school itself, it was kind of fun, and she had friends, along with some really fun classes. But she didn't like her teachers. Other then her woodshop teacher and the one teacher she already had, they all sucked. The moment they saw her, they pegged her as the "skip-school-type" but she wasn't. At least, she wasn't before she started living with her sister. She felt like she had to impress her all the time. If she had to act like she was a jerk and hated school with a passion to do so, so be it.

Not like she would ever tell Kathy that. She knew what she would say. Something along the lines of 'I love you no matter what'. Till knew it was true, but that doesn't matter. Her sister doesn't care how she acts, but after she left her house Kathy probably thought she was as rebellious as she was. Needing to live up to expectations was her fatal flaw. But as for being a big rebel, maybe she was. But if she's mainly being rebellious because of someone else, does that even count?

"I told you. I don't feel good." Kathy examined her then gave up trying to get her answer and put on the show they had been watching. At least acting like this doesn't require that much work.

"For our first exercise of the year, we will be doing a Reader's Theater. Has anyone done this before?" Nicky quickly raised his hand, along with a few more people. "Great. Get into groups of five. You all have a different script. Try to make it all gender-appropriate."

Nicky tapped Isaac's shoulder. "Want to be in my group?" He asked nicely. After Isaac helped him with the mess, they talked and he was really sweet. They both loved acting. While Isaac wasn't as experienced as Nicky, he has done some acting classes, and been in one musical.

Isaac, Nicky, a freckled girl who kept talking to her friend with a pixie cut who was also in the group, and Emmett wound up being in one group.

The story was pretty much this guy who won't listen to anyone, and when he really needs this girls advise for the good of everyone, he won't listen to her. Nicky was the main character (not-so-shockingly), Emmett was the father (he didn't want a big role), the freckled girl got the main girl (and she wouldn't stop flipping her hair after she got it), her friend was the fairy, and Isaac was the narrator.

"Once there was a lad named Leif. Leif was a likeable fella, nice, handsome to boot. But he wouldn't listen to anybody. He always had to do things his own way." Isaac said, assuming the voice of a medival narrator, like in Shakespeare plays. Nicky was pleasantly surprised. He hadn't really expected Isaac to be so, extra. That was normally his department. Isaac seemed like it wouldn't be. Nicky had found his new drama partner.

Soon Nicky was giving notes left and right;

"Emmett, try to say those lines louder."

"Maybe don't announce how you messed up your lines when we preform it?"

When preformance time came along, the girl with the pixie cut kept messing up. She managed to break character more times then lines she had. And Emmett was so shy saying his lines, you could hardly hear him.

After it, the teacher gave them criticism. Mainly directed at the pixie cut girl and Emmett. "Nice energy Emilee, but be sure not to break character. And Emmett, be more confident."

"That was a mess," Nicky whispered to Isaac. He nodded. "But you were really good. How do you do the voice?" Isaac shrugged.

"Thanks, I kind of have a thing for impressions. And you were great too."

Nicky smiled. "When the play comes around, would you maybe want to go through the script with me at my place? You seem like a good actor." Isaac nodded once more, grinning even wider. Things were really turning around from the other day when Nicky had that milk poured over him.

But Isaac still wasn't happy.

A/N

Sorry for the ending of this chapter. Sorry for the length. Sorry I have put certain characters into bigger parts then others, but all characters are going to be in it quite a bit. I have plans for every character.

Also, the reason it goes from Lilith to Lillith is because Seneca's ex has one L and the other one has two L's.

Regardless, hope you enjoyed this chapter. -Thessie
