Clara

Do you know that nagging feeling of being in the way? I don't think there is anyone who can say with certainty that he or she has never experienced it; well, Clara was not immune to it either; in fact, if she could have, she would have preferred to be swallowed by a chasm in the ground, ending up in the tunnel leading to Wonderland. Unfortunately, however, the ground did not seem willing to open, so she would have to invent something to rock the boat.

The fairy with the perfect blow - out did not seem at all willing to let go and Clara did not know what to do about it. In short, she was still uncertain of her feelings, so how could she hope to compete with a literal millennial love?! But despite these nagging doubts, she was certain that she did not want her by Amos's side! So, taking a deep breath and arming herself with courage, the young woman quickened her pace and headed in their direction, positioning herself to the left of the dragon.

Amos was so absorbed that he didn't even seem to have noticed her presence, but, in fact, it was quite the opposite, for just as Clara was about to slow down and return close to Elijah, she felt him gently grasping her wrist. No words were needed; Amos just needed to feel her physically and emotionally close. This scene affected Eliza deeply, who quickly shifted her gaze and began telling them how to access the Labyrinth.

<<Once inside, it will be up to you to manage to get to the bottom and face the guardian of the figurine, I cannot continue any further.>> She explained statuesquely, straining not to look at the scene in front of her.

At that moment, Clara really felt bad for her, because of her feelings for Amos and for having entered, unwillingly, into this bizarre triangle, but by now she really would not know how to get out of it!

Amos immediately perked up his "antennae" upon hearing that the woman would not be their guide on this path and he was intent on finding out why. <<At the very least, there will be a trap waiting for us, while you will already be miles away ready to rip off the next schmuck on duty who will be stupid enough to trust you.>> The dragon objected, almost trying to increase that crevasse of emotional distance that had come between them.

For the sake of truth, even Clara had to admit that the doubt that the other was trying to save "her wings" had grazed her as well, although she was almost certain that she would not try to further undermine the infinitesimal chances of getting his forgiveness.

So, tired of standing there dumbfounded and looking pretty, the girl interposed herself between the two like a referee trying to quell a brawl: all she needed was a hat and whistle and then she would have been perfect!

Seeing the very likely malaparade coming, Elijah also thought of getting in the way, tired of all these delays because of the former couple's quarrels. Once on the scene, as the two continued to fight like cat and dog, or rather like cat and dog with magical powers, the handsome blond lifted Clara into his strong arms, shifting all the attention to himself.

<<Forgive me Elijah, but it just doesn't seem to me the most appropriate time for such a twist, why don't we rather try to appease the spirits, since otherwise we won't come back with that statuette to Lillybet even in 2050!>> The girl almost shouted, red as a bell pepper because of the strange situation that had come up.

"But where are the bad guys when you need them?" She continued, not realizing, however, that she had explicated the thought out loud, causing silence to fall. Could it really have been more awkward? Of course it could, as Mr. Hedgehog also felt compelled to step in and have his say!

<<Hedgehog, today is your lucky day, so I will avoid killing you this time; as for us, let's go.>> Said Amos turning to the two traveling companions, not deigning Eliza in the least. In the meantime, Elijah still would not let go, so Clara found herself forced to ask him to put her back on the ground (as comfortable as she was).

<<We'll take that as a no. So folks, suddle up folks and let's hope the warden has decided to take a coffee break.>> She exclaimed, almost making the two companions fall to the ground upon hearing the joke!

Soon after, the earth shook so hard that it opened a huge chasm ready to suck everyone down. Elijah and Amos were just in time to catch the girl before she ended up in that kind of black hole.

<<Gosh, people are so right when they say to be careful what you wish for because it might come true.>> Proffered the young girl, with only the two dragons separating her from a dark, deep chasm!

<<Well, at least we should not bother to find the entrance, it really seems that our "friend" wanted to make it easier for us.>> And after this punch line, Amos subtracted Clara's "half" still in his rival's arms and headed with her into that dark depth, with only a flame to light his way.

<<Hey, don't hope I'll let you go alone, you're not capable of defending her.>> And after that, the blond man followed close behind them. A few moments later, the great chasm closed in the blink of an eye, leaving Eliza and the guardian hedgehog worried about the fate of the three.
