Lets talk E3
*Beckons with hand* Gather round, kids. The greatly anticipated event of the year has been and gone, so let us discuss the spectacle, hype and controversies of this year's E3 event.
Yes, I was planning to write this a few days ago as soon as it ended, but heh, I was too lazy. UwU
Now then,
For those who don't know, E3 is the time of year where basically everybody who enjoys gaming gets hyped up for the next generation of games, graphics, hardware and developments - it is a huge event where capital game developers such as Nintendo, Microsoft, Ubisoft, and many more announce their upcoming projects to the world. Thousands of people turn up to the irl event, and millions more from around the world tune in to the livestreams on YouTube and Twitch. So ye. Is a pretty big thing, in case you'd never heard of it.
And of course, it is undoubtedly one of the times of year that I look forward to the most OwO
ANYWAY,
If you haven't seen the memes of E3 at least, I don't know where you've been. Microsoft held the first conference at E3 2019, and OH did they announce a lot of good shit.
Of course, the popular moment of their event was when fuckin Keanu Reeves arrived on set, which like, nobody was expecting, lul. Basically, it was revealed that Keanu plays a key character in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game, (which, may I add, looks great and I'm REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.)
But yeah, Keanu Reeves was a good meme at E3. If you're not aware of the whole 'breathtaking' thing that happened, then... well, yeah. I don't know where you've been. XD
But yeah, Microsoft announced a LOT of new games, but for convenience, I'll talk about the highlights.
First of all, Cyberpunk 2077. Looks amazing. In fact, I believe that it's already got the most pre-orders for any game ever on Steam - seriously, that is a crazy statistic.
Next.
HALO. INFINITE.
Okay, I won't freak out about it yet because they didn't show anything of consequence, really. We got a small teaser trailer and a glimpse at the game's graphics engine, which is an impressive upgrade from Halo 5. BUT HEY, THEY BROUGHT BACK THE ORIGINAL SHIELD RECHARGE SOUND, AND THAT WAS SERIOUSLY SATISFYING TO ME
ALSO

CHIEF'S NEW CHARACTER MODEL
IS AMAZING
Aha... but yeah, another big thing that was announced - y'all hear about the new minecraft game?
Yup, 'Minecraft Dungeons' is a new game from the Minecraft developers which is essentially a totally new type of Minecraft game. It's more of an RPG action-adventure thing, where you control a character that you can upgrade and equip to fight against hordes of monsters in a top-down, third-person view. The game's reveal trailer shows off many new types of enemies, items and blocks among many familiar assets that already make up the typical Minecraft world. The game's expected release date is to be in Spring next year. If you haven't already watched the trailer, I recommend you go and check it out if you're a fan of Minecraft too.
To be honest, there are like 60 games that were shown at Microsoft's show, and I am pretty damn hyped for many of them
So I'm just gonna save us all a lot of time by just talking about the three already-mentioned games. XD
However, Microsoft **did** tease their next console at E3 this year. Whilst the actual name of the new Xbox is yet to be released, it has been dubbed as 'Project Scarlett' for the moment. I'm hyped to see more about that and especially about the specs, because I feel like it's gonna be a huge step up for console hardware. It probably won't be too long until Playstation tease their next console too, to stay in the competition - so if you're a Sony fan, keep an eye out for the ps5 reveal that's likely to come out later this year.
Bethesda's conference was pretty good too. Actually no, it was better than 'pretty good' because they SHOWED MORE GAMEPLAY OF THE UPCOMING DOOM: ETERNAL WHICH IM EXTREMELY HYPED FOR
And they actually ran a gameplay demo for people at the event. I'm jealous. UwU
But yeah, basically:
Big Fallout 76 update soon, free for all players.
Doom Eternal.
Elder Scrolls Online update.
Mobile Elder Scrolls updates.
Wolfenstein Young Blood
Those are kinda Bethesda's highlights.
Ubisoft's conference was lame, they really didn't show off anything that caught my attention. So ye, that was boring,
Square Enix did a presentation as well, but I only watched half of it. They announced some really good looking games though, and gave us more information and footage on important debuts, including the new live-service multiplayer Avengers game, as well as the Final Fantasy 7 remake.
But yeah, now I finally get to Nintendo, and this is the important bit. Besides, I tried to limit my ranting about the rest of the event because many of you probably don't care much XD
But Nintendo,
They had an interesting presentation.
*Inhales*
LUIGI'S MANSION 3 OH GOD IM SO EXCITED
I've played the other Luigi's mansion games, and I really, *really* enjoyed them. They're intuitive, fun and puzzling all at the same time, and I'm really looking forward to the next instalment in the series.
Super Mario Maker 2 is also coming to the switch the end of July, I think! I played a LOT of the first Mario Maker, But was fairly disappointed with the 3DS version as there wasn't much multiplayer potential, and I felt like it was missing a few things in both gameplay and level sharing aspects. However, the new Mario maker seems to cover a lot of those flaws, offering many new level design options and techniques which will allow for even more creative levels.
Both of these new games were played live at the Nintendo Treehouse event at E3, and we got to see a good amount of gameplay from these games as well as many of the other games shown at Nintendo's presentation, including Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Now then.
This is where things get *depressing*.
I'm not sure how much y'all have seen about the new Pokemon games, but...
Well
The presentation was bittersweet. To be honest, I was planning to make a smaller, separate chapter about the new Pokemon games, and I think I might do that tomorrow. But basically,
We did get to see a lot of gameplay from Sword and Shield. Some of the new mechanics and features were shown to us, including the new wild area feature, 4-player team raid battles, and some of the new gym locations. But there's been a lot of backlash from the Pokemon community because, to put it simply, Sword and Shield are straight up not going to include every Pokemon anymore.
Yeah.
So, you know how it is - every Pokemon region has its own Pokédex, which doesn't necessarily include every Pokemon ever. Although each region has its own unique Pokemon, Pokemon from other games can be transferred via Pokemon Bank to newer Pokemon gen games. Yeah, well not this time. Whilst there's gonna be a new version of Pokemon bank for Switch called Pokémon Home, the new games literally wont allow for Pokemon that aren't in the Galar Pokédex to exist in the game - meaning that many of our favourite Pokemon that we've raised over the years won't be able to be transferred to the new games.
But yeah, there's a lot to talk about with the new Pokemon games, so prepare for a rant chapter in the near future. Right now, I'm too tired to write any more, so I'll talk about Sword and Shield another time.
Anyway
Thank you's all for reading, imma release a separate chapter discussing this soon.
But yea
E3 this year was definitely a good one. I'm actually looking forward to quite a lot of stuff, for once UwU
Anyway
See you in the next chapter.
