Lance X Reader

⚠️No Warning!⚠️

"Where are we going for this rescue mission?" You asked as everyone gathered at the bridge.

"A nearby planet, but we're only sending Lance." Allura explained. You didn't exactly like having one person go out alone. It made you uneasy. Also your crush on him didn't help.

"You're only sending one person?"

"It a very small planet, and Lance volunteered to go." Allura continued to explain. You sighed harshly and ran you fingers through your hair. "Everyone else will be here for back up."

"I'll go too."

"What?" Lance yelled. You faced him and kept an emotionless face.

"I'm going with you. No one can tell me otherwise." You crossed your arms.

"It's dangerous, and you'll just hold me back-"

"What did I just say?" You asked and he opened his mouth to argue, but immediately shut it. "Now what are we waiting for?"

Lance groaned and walked over to his hangar entrance and you followed. You could hear, Hunk laughing through the communicator, and it made, Lance's walk a little quicker. "Hunk, shut up!" You demanded. He stopped laughing, but Lance didn't stop walking.

He hadn't said a word to you. All you knew is there was nothing you did wrong. Nothing you said. At least as far as you were concerned. "Lance, wait up!"

You both walked into the red lion and he sat down at the pilot seat, still not saying anything. You held onto the back of the seat and watched as he got ready to take off. Mentally ready. "Lance, why aren't you talking to me?"

"It's nothing." He mumbled and you both took off in silence. You moved towards he planet, which was small, and completely made of ice. "The distress signal is coming from over there." He pointed to the map and out nodded, pulling out your bayard. Also a gun.

"Let's blow this popsicle stand."

"We're only taking out the Galra." Lance reminded you. You smiled and nodded.

"I know. Just trying to kick start my adrenaline." He chuckled as you landed, but nothing around you showed any sign of civilization. "Do you see anything?"

"No," he stood up and summoned his bayard. "Let's go check it out."

"Be careful!" Allura told us.

"We know!" We both said, making us exchange soft smiled as we exited Red. It was a frozen waste land. Ice and snow covered the ground and rained down on us, like a blizzard. It made it near impossible to see.

"Stay close to me!" You yelled, grabbing onto Lance's armor with your free hand. You both trudged on and found nothing. "Maybe we should head back to, Red and do a quick scan!"

"Okay!" You both turned to go back to the Lion, but Red seemed to disappear.

"I think we have a problem." You sighed. "We have no idea where we are."

Static came brought on the other end. No voices, just static.

"Hello?" Lance called. There was just more static. Your bayard's disappeared and you faced each other for a moment. "We have a problem for sure."

"We need to find, Red."

"It'll be impossible with this weather. Even if she is bright red."

"We can do it." You heard a loud crack and you both looked down. Under both of you was a huge crack in the ice.

"Of course. Don't move quickly."

"I know!" You snapped, and tried to take a gentle step forward, but the ice cracked more.

"Just don't move!" You nodded and looked around, being carful not to move you feet of shit too much weight. Out to you right a ways you thought you saw something. It looked like a person. You started waving.

"Hello! We're here to help!" You yelled as loud as you could. Lance began to wave too. The figure moved closer and you soon realized that it was a Galra drone. "Lance, I think this was a trap."

"Uh... I'm starting to think that too." The drone was holding a blaster and pointed it at the ice below your feet.

"Can I move now?"

"Run!" Lance yelled, but it was a little too late the drone shot the ice and the ground gave out under you. Lance grabbed your arms and tried to pull you up. You looked down. It was most likely a ten for drop and that would be hard to survive.

"Don't drop me!" You exclaimed.

"Don't pull me in!" You saw another drone appear behind, Lance.

"Lance, look out!" The drone kicked him and he fell into the hole, taking you down too. You both screamed until you hit the packed ground with a thud and a few groans.

You were the first to sit up. Your armor was cracked and cold air was creeping in. You tossed your helmet aside. It was busted and your chest plate was on the verge of breaking, so you took that off too. It wasn't doing any to help keep you warm from the cold.

You stood up and looked around for Lance. He was laying a few feet away. His armor was in the same condition. You moved over to him as fast as you could. He was laying on his chest and you turned him over. His helmet was cracked down the middle so you threw it aside and sat him up. His eyes opened and he blinked several time. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." He shook his head and rubbed his forehead. "How about you?"

"Freezing." You sighed. You walked over to pick your helmet up. It wasn't as bad as Lance's so you tried again. "H-Hello? Can anyone hear me? We were a-ambushed."

Static came through again. Lance threw his chest plate aside and stood up. He spotted a small cave a few feet away. You both walked over and sat in it. You sat far apart, both of you were shivering, but you didn't want to say anything. "Why'd you want to come with me?"

You looked over at him, but looked away just as fast. "I didn't want you g-going alone."

"I wanted to go alone." He replied. You felt small, because his tone was so big and menacing.

"I'm sorry. I misread the situation... w-why'd you wanna go alone?"

"To prove myself, but like I said you just got in my way."

"At least y-you're not stuck here alone!"

"I'd rather be alone." You shrunk down, trying to save body heat, and trying to hide from, Lance. "Because then I wouldn't have to freeze to death knowing that you died with me."

You looked over at him and he sighed, "Why'd you really come with me?"

"Like I said. You shouldn't go alone. It's dangerous. There's enough of us to alway be in teams of two. I thought you'd a-appreciate me coming with." You sighed.

"Come here." He sighed. You looked him dead in the eyes and he held his arm out. "You're cold."

You moved into his arms and he held you and you wrapped your arms around his warm body, already feeling better. "I'm sorry." You whispered.

"Do you think we'll die down here?" His voice was small and you were suddenly aware of everything.

"If the Galra don't get to us, we'll probably die of hypothermia. The others aren't getting our signal." You whispered and you could feel warm drips of water on you back as, Lance pulled you closer. You rubbed his back in an attempt to make him feel better. "I'm sorry this is my fault."

"No it's not. I shouldn't have been stupid we should have brought more people. I was just so determined to prove I could do something that would make me valuable to the team." You pulled away and held his face in your hands.

"Do you really feel the need to do that?" You asked sadly. He nodded and sighed.

"(Y/N)?"

"Yes?"

"Can I kiss you?"

Your heart stopped.

You'd never thought about the actual possibility of kissing, Lance. Let alone him asking you. Your cheeks felt hot and you mouth dry as you tried to come with an answer. "Yes."

It was simple, and all you could manage. You couldn't hear as your heart picked up the pace. Lance leaned forward in an awkward jerking movement and you did the same until your lips met. You'd never kissed anyone before so you didn't know if this was how it was supposed to feel.

His lips were cold and soft, you could feel pleasure run through you as your eyes closed. He placed his hands out your back and you rested your hands on his arms. You felt your heart beat, his heart beat, you could feel the tips of his fingers and the gently pressed into your back. You could feel your lungs scream for air, but you ignored it.

The amount of pleasure from this single kiss made you wish it would never stop. After fighting the urge to breath for ten more seconds you pulled away and took a deep breath. You didn't meet eyes with Lance right away, but when you did it was like you got lost in an ocean. His eyes pulled you in and you couldn't get out. "If we die today," his voice pulled you into reality, "I just want you to know that I like you, (Y/N)."

"I assumed you did. Since you asked to kiss me." You grinned, which triggered Lance's smile. "I like you too."

"Can I kiss you again?"

"Yes." You breathed the word out. It felt like the word of a saint. Lance moved in and kissed you more swiftly. You felt the pleasure return and he moved back slowly, the kiss was short and you were hungry for more. Lance leaned towards the side of your head.

His breath tickled your ear and he began to speak. "You know I think I might actually love you." All the words were drowning out the howling wind and the bitter cold. It was so real that it made everything seam like an illusion.

"I love you too. I love you with all my heart." You whispered, clutching his shirt in your hands. You held him in this position for a few short moments. You held him like he'd disappear if you let go. He moved back and kissed your temple before drawing you into his chest, to share body heat.

"HeLlO?" A voice cracked through the communicator. Pidge. "We'Re CoMiNg To GeT yOu! We FoUnD yOuR lOcAtIoN! DoN't MoVe!"

You looked up and smiled at Lance. "I guess this means we're going to live." You said, feeling the cold begin to nip at you again.

"That's definitely a good thing."
