Winter's Luna

Author: SoccerBound

Genre: Werewolf

What I liked about this book:

This book was fun to read in a soap opera-y way. There were parts of the description that hit home and were flawless, and sometimes entire paragraphs that flowed really, really nicely. It was also pretty easy to read.

What I did NOT like about this book:

This book has like, everything I hate, from poorly-thought-out fake wolf pack dynamics to weird inferences with animal forms to mate dynamics. A circle that everyone transforms and runs off into? Shapeshifters that exist and then are never mentioned again? Some council? It's all super disconnected. And then we randomly skip four years for no reason.

I found myself with no connection to any of the characters, either. Bex spends large amounts of time infodumping for no reason, and we are sprinkled bits and pieces of plot that don't seem connected to one another and aren't foreshadowed at all. Her siblings aren't around enough for me to care about them, which makes Jenni's transformation trite when it could have been really powerful.

I am predicting that Bex's wolf comes out and she's Dominic's mate, or some shit, but I wouldn't read more of this.

Overall:

It wasn't very good.

Rating:

4/10 because I didn't want to gouge my eyes out while reading it.
